Tom, When you are getting this tapping noise, try holding the window up button (even though the window is closed), and let me know what this does to the tapping pattern. I know this is a very strange thing to notice, but i have found that if you do that with the switch, which is obviously using power and slightly effecting the idle, the tapping goes a little crazy, then calms down again. Very hard to describe, other that suggesting you give it ago

Up where the map reading lights are, you will see three small slits either side of the light buttons. My mic was on the passenger side, so i opened it up and moved it to the drivers side. Still no great improvement.

I assume that this is only beneficial for non mapped cars? I was always under the impression that a custom remap would carry out a "MAF calibration" which would take account of a cross sectional area of the intake at the point of the sensor? Obviously this could be a good solution if you didnt get a remap, however, really how much of a difference will it make?

Ive been watching mine to make sure this doesnt happen, but today it got very very close on the driverside. Lubed it up, and it appears better, however the driverside is still very very close to the wing (2-3mm) where as the passenger side has much more clearance (5-6mm). It doesnt appear to be very obvious what i can/am supposed to adjust to fix this?

Just filled £96 of momentum, and the "gauge" is not fully illuminating. The last dot is out. I thought this happened last time, but wasnt sure. Read a few problems online, but as long as i stick to my usual method of setting the trip computer and using 350miles as my limit, im sure i wont have problems. (my car is out of warranty, otherwise it would be back in to Nissan!)

I find the microphone on mine to be terrible. Sounds okay upto around 40mph, but on the motorway there is no point in me taking any calls as the other end cnnot make out anything i say! I have had the microphone out and relocated it to the driverside of the light cluster, but it made little difference. Next possibility is to get some Dynamat and try to apply it on the roof above the microphone, and maybe some padding/insulatins stuffed around it above the headlining. Not sure how much difference it will make!!

Hi Scott, welcome along! I remember your blue EP1, and if i remember correctly i bought a set of EP3 JDM deflectors off you?? I used to own a silver EP1 and was on EP Civic and CTRO.

I think the non premium connects have a load button on the right of the disc slot.

Mine does this tapping noise/feel. I find my clutch okay when cold, but after 20 mins of driving, it feels very loose and close to slipping when pulling away. I done a flush of my clutch fluid as it looked low, and it was very black. It helped slightly, but I think there is an underlying problem. After a good blast, it actually feels like it is juddering when pulling away. A couple of weeks after I got the car, I was hooning around and changed to second gear mid launch/slide. Second didnt engage and the pedal basically stuck down and struggled to come back up. Reading the US forums, most point the finger at the slave cylinder failing. Its annoying, and takes away some of the enjoyment. The plan is to replace clutch flywheel CSC and possibly the master cylinder if required. But that wont be cheap!!

Drop the black edition seats and trim in the car and I would then be very happy. Great honest review!

Was it white? I may have seen the same on in Motherwell last Wednesday. Im sure it was a woman driving it mind you!

Having previously owned 2 Mazda 3 MPS's, im aware of Autotraders issues. Since the 6MPS is AWD it had a habit of auto completing the for sale sheet of a 3MPS as AWD. Plenty people were caught out by that. I had to keep searching both 370z and 370 z when buying mine

Any way my 370z can sound like this? Or how would you describe it's tone?
ross27 replied to gstraw's topic in 370z General
I made my own exhaust on my old azda 3 MPS. Since it had twin tailpipes, i installed a large silencer on the branch over to the driver side outlet, and then an electronic valve on the passenger side. When closed, gases were forced through the silencer, and when open, it was a straight through. Sounded not too bad for a 4pot turbo! If i had the time i would consider doing one for the 370, but its already got a custom exhaust, so i may not bother! It would be easy enough for a custom place to make something up for you! -

This was mine. Decatted, straight through dual system, with two silencers at the tail pipes. Had plenty rasp, but was a little too droney on the motorway. I have since got two small 12" silencers welded in, which has elminated the drone, and also the rasp. -

My front appears to be fairly tarnished looking. I will try and get a photo of it tomorrow, but after 2 weeks, im not overly impressed -
The way you have been treated is awful! It is not your fault they do not have the staff to complete the works, and why should you be out of pocket for this? Since it is Nissan that advises you take the car to a HPC centre, then i would strongly advise you write a letter direct to Nissan UK HQ, detailing all the events, and exactly how you are out of pocket. Explain you are dissappointed, and want to register a complaint against the garage. You stand more chance of getting a result by going to Nissan. Personally i would look for compensation in the form of free servicing. You could also express your concern that the garages incompetance, and if they are actually up to the job in hand. Id be asking for an extended warranty. Also, i have had terrible dealings with Macklin Motors on my old Mazda 3 MPS. First of dealt with the garage you are at in Darnley, then got treated poorly and went to their Hamilton/Blantyre branch. That branch was even worse. Problems included, dented wing, damaged fuse box cover, intercooler incorrectly fitted, turbo heat sheilds dented and bashed, screws/bolts missing and over filled oil. They are the worse group of monkeys ive ever dealt with!!

This stuff is great. I bought a few tins of the stuff in a group buy on another forum. Got black and silver and gold glossifier. Used the black and silver glossifier on my previous MPS's: Used it on the grille of my old Merc: Before: After:

Thats the main reason i posted them on here. I have emailed them to find out what is actually required, and will update if they respond. Someone in Aus made a guide on fitting them by removing parts of the pop up hinge, but i dont fancy doing that!! http://zclub.com.au/forums/index.php?/topic/4983-z1-hood-struts/ There is another on a forum i cant post a link to, which uses a different method.
-
Great, keep me in mind! I am seeing people altering the pop up hinges on some forums, and others have to remove the battery/brake fluid covers. Id like to do neither if possible
-
Cheers, hopefully its helpfull to someone! I was surprised at the colour, and cloudyness of the stuff coming out the bleed nipple!!

I have been looking to get a set of bonnet struts/dampers for my 370z, but i am dubious about fitting them alongside the pop up bonnet system. Has anyone fitted a set on their 370, and if so what set did you go for? Photos of fitment would be nice! Thanks These are one possibility: http://www.z1motorsports.com/g37_370z/product_info.php?products_id=6381

Either Volk CE28N or Vol TE37

Ive owned my 370z for around 4 weeks now, and in that time ive not been too impressed with the clutch. One time i was giving it some beans, i ended up with the clutch pedal loosing pressure and struggling to come back up. (I fear i may have the CSC problems i read about on the US forums) After that happened i check the clutch fluid, and it was on the minimum line, so i planned to do a full flush. The stuff in the reservoir was thick and black, and didnt look like it had been changed in the cars lifetime (2010, 32k). This morning i nipped down to Halfrauds and got a bottle of Mobil Dot4, and with the assistance of my Dad, i bled the system out. Started by sucking out the fluid from the reservoir, then jacking up the car and locating the bleed nipple. This is on the passenger side of the transmission, and has a small rubber cap on it. You need an 8mm spanner to loosen. This video shows the exact proceedure i follwed: I must have done around 14 cycles untill i was happy with the fluid coming out. To compare, i poured some of the new stuff in a bottle! Take a look at yours, and if it is very dark, i suggest you replace it! I also lowered the clutch pedal and the difference is very noticeable!

Bought myself a set of these from Asad, and just wanted to stick up a couple of photos and say thanks! -
Not got one in my 2010 Coupe. Previous cars with tyre foam have still had a jack...
