I called customer services tonight and they said they couldn't access or change any info on my policy as it has been locked on the system by the Underwriters. Kinda bricking myself....can't see them being bastards over a date I got wrong. If I was going out my way to hide information I wouldn't have told them about it! The number on the letter closes at 6pm, so I got the number off the website and called them and they confirmed the 'audit'. So it is definitely from Admiral. It wasn't the date of the accident I got wrong it was the date of my conviction on my driving license.

I have had my car insurance with admiral for 2 years now and have always been truthful with regards to convictions, estimated mileage etc. I received a letter today asking me to send them copies of my Driving licence (both parts), V5 Cert and a copy of a bill or bank statement. It got me rather worried and I checked my policy against all my details and everything ties up. However, I did notice I have the wrong date down for a conviction I have, I wrote down it was 06/09, whereas it was really 09/09. This was a complete and utter mistake obviously as 3 months would make no difference to the price of my premium I would imagine. This has got me rather worried as to what they will say to this, they have recently dealt with a claim for me and were great. The accident was 100% the other persons fault and they admitted that to their own insurance company so it was a smooth claim with no problems. Nothing really cost Admiral any money as they would have claimed everything back off of the woman whos fault it was insurance company. I have to say I am a quite worried, I dont know if its a random audit or they have found this discrepancy and want to cancel my policy or fine me etc. Has anyone ever had an 'audit' on their policy??

+2 I put some copper slip on mine also!

This is Michael Thomson ya dafty lol.

Yeah that puzzled me for a few seconds, just screws out really easy, 10mm socket if I remember correctly! I'm guessing it's there to stop stupid people putting a rear wheel on the front of the car lol....
-
They are just as easy as putting on a wheel! I used a torque wrench and tightened the nuts to the recommended Nm. Also put on some lubricant so I can get them off easily!

You have taken some stick here Leo

I never have my air con on apart from in the summer when we occasionally get a hot day. I get between 27-31 mpg and that is a mixture of eco driving on motorway and around town. My dailly commute is 40 mile so I have to drive economically. At the weekends I probably get well below 20 mpg lol. Cant say I have seen any difference when the air con is on though!

Nope we have one of the biggest BMW dealers in our area and there's an abundance of z4's and z4 m coupes. Really not a fan of the Beemer. Looks like a car for a rich mans missus to be honest. Would save a bit more and buy a 911 instead. New BMW's are renowned for being very unreliable. My missus dad had endless issues with his 760li and ended up having a new engine put in due to them being unable to repair it successfully. The i-drive system failed on countless occasions also. Really? BMWs strike me as one of the most reliable brands out there. Sure you can always find examples of issues, but given how many they sell its not surprising. I'd be more concerned about porsche reliability (especially as I'm looking to buy one). I've owned many BMWs and frequented many BMW forums and get the impression the reliability is superb. Though I get pretty much the same impression of the zed. Every Beemer our family owned has been a nightmare and so has the customer service. The 911 c4s was fantastic and had zero issues. But when spending almost 100k on a New 7 series for it to be in the garage more than it is out then I'm pretty sure that says it all. Dont get me wrong I nearly bought a 335 m sport conv just before I bought my zed. I love the look of BMW's and my mate just picked up a cracking 5 series business edition. I love the look of these cars and the interior but I'm afraid I think, IMO, that A z4 ,no matter the spec, is just too feminine to look at... I would agree with you if you said the Z4 Roadster was feminine, I would never drive one of them, but the coupe, especilally the M coupe is a lovely looking car, not girly at all IMO. I love the look of my car, the 350Z coupe but if I am honest I think the 350Z roadster looks pretty ugly and would never have bought one. So each to there own I guess

30 BHP more for less than a tenner!

That's presuming the cars temp sensor is an RTD!! Anyway, who on earth is bidding on this? You'd have to be mentally unstable. -
I just fitted my LED sidelights! Took a bit of time as I had to take the wheels off to get into the screws for the wheel arch liner. Fortunately I got no cuts! It's basically two screws that need to come out and the two 10mm bolts under the bumper. No need to take the three plastic clips out the liner is pretty flexible, plus they easily break! Looking forward to seeing what they are like at night

It's the ball joint that's gone! Thanks Alex thys great I will PM you tonight

I will be buying a brand new one of these from ZMANALEX within the next week unless anybody has one for sale as he has no used ones. I am likely to sell my car in the summer for a new toy thats why I would rather buy a good condition used one. Bit of an off chance but does anybody have a spair one kicking about for sale? Cheers

Thanks for that mate. I was comparing it to a 370Z tho! I have considered upgrading my 54 plate to a 57 plate 350Z but not sure it's worth my while. I'd rather push the boat out for an M Coupe or 370Z
-
Oh I thought it was a comparison to the 370, Yeah it is, point I was trying to make was its an upgrade from my 350. I'm still open to the idea of a 370 too, was looking for someones opinion who has driven both and which one they found to be better. Looks wise I think the M Coupe edges it.
-
My point exactly! CSL wheels set it off. Not dated in the slightest.
-
Very common? There were a limited number made between 2006-2008. Are u getting confused with Z4 M Sports? They are also 340bhp so I can see it being faster than my 280bhp zed. As for looks, IMO they don't look dated whatsoever, with a set of CSL wheels they look amazing.
-
Thanks for all the responses. I think some might be getting confused to a Z4 3.0si? I am talking about the M Coupe which is a lot faster than the 3.0 and is rarer than a 350z. Ive only ever seen a few on the roads. I think it's my next car, the price of them seem excellent value aswell. Oh and I don't think the new shape Z4 has an 'M' model mate.

I am considering next year buying a BMW Z4 M Coupe. Really like the look of them and ther are quicker than the 350Z I believe. I absolutely love my Zed but ive had it over 18 months now and may sell up at the 2 year point for something a bit newer. The 370Z is also an option depending on the price they are at as I only plan to spend around 15-18k. Has anyone driven a Z4 M Coupe? How do they compare to the 350Z and the 370Z? Cheers

A stroll in the park for you Mike 2 hours will take care of it mate if you are handy with spanners. Alex. Nice one, I will more than likey be making an order with you soon Alex! I always bought Bosch super4 plugs after having them recommended though...!
-
How hard a job is it to change the spark plugs on a Zed? Ive done the last two cars ive had on my own as its been really easy.

I got my car May 2010 when I just turned 21 and I wouldnt exactly say I look really young. I am now 22 and people still comment on it, saying my insurance and running cost must be massive, and asking what I do for a living. Also get mostly compliments about it too, apart from a few of my mates who are VW and Audi fanatics.
