I've not told our insurance yet - I'll call hers tomorrow and if she's admitted liability then I won't bother with ours. You've got 48 hours to report it to your insurer. I had a look at the clamping regs - a sign at the enterance of a car park (and no where else) is not acceptable, a sign where you cannot read the details is not acceptable (Vine vs Watham Forest), a clamper not displaying the company emblem on their vehicle is not acceptable (they were in an unmarked MPV). Clamper admitted to me that they had to put the sign high up and not where they should put it because the Wok bar employees kept ripping them down. Eeek. You should have told your insurer and police straight away. Having left it this long it could be a serious problem when it comes to claiming.

You will need to download the codec's for the file type you are trying to use or convert the files using a program like Handbrake (free).

That sucks balls dude. I've had some fairely shite days of late but I have to say you win!

Er - a slightly odd question. You engine will deliver it's maximum power is a particular rev range which I think is about 6,500 but I'm sure a more knowledable person will be along shortly to correct that number. Since the gearing is shorter you will have the most torque in 1st. I suggest not driving at 60mph in 1st gear on the redline. Not big and it's not clever!

I'm noy buying it so please post it! I need to know. You've got us all on tenterhooks!

Welcome and look forward to seeing pics posted! On a serious note though be careful when using the load pedal. The roads are greasy at the moment and the Zed is very arse happy. Don't want to see you spank your new baby before you get a chance to show her off at a meet.

Have you tried rubbing cheatah blood on the engine? It's hard to catch the bastards and a little bit messy but amazing increases in BHP!!

Couln't disagree more. Maybe it's deff where you are but the cinema costs a wallet busting £11 a ticket where I am (£1 more for 3D). My 50" plasma cost £700. By that maths going to the cinema 28 times would be the same as buying a kick ass TV that will last you years. I don't bother with the cinema now unless its a very visual film like Avatar.

+1 I added the missus (who by the way can't drive to safe her f*&king life) and it dropped by £200.

HD Downloads don't compare to Blu-Ray. The resolution isnt quite there and the framerate is severly cut in most instances (im citing Apple TV). Physical media is on it's way out but the transition won't happen properly until the UK has the IT infrastructure to support it. Virgin medias 50meg broadband is the only ISP that can really support this at the moment. Arguably the 20meg Virgin broadband could cover it but since they throttle it after 4gig and the average HD movie (blu-ray) is 25gig its a bit of a moot point. It's going to take BT at least 5 years to roll BT Infinity (40meg broadband) out to the UK and that still exlcudes rural area's. In short Blu-Ray wont take iff in the same way DVD did but its still a valid format with a good lifespan of 5-7 years briging the point we are at now to the death of physical media. Certainly after Blu-Ray we won't see another widely adopted physical media come along.

Any lawyers to help with a debt collection threat?
James B replied to slimjim's topic in Off Topic Discussion
If you signed a contract saying that you have to give notice or there is some other auto renewal clause in the contract then you havnt got a leg to stand on my friend. For such a small amount I would pay them and be rid off. Having said that (just to be devils advocate here) if you decide not to pay and just hold out there is very little they are likely to do. The potential cost of recovering that money is more than the amount itself. If it does get refered to a debt collector then state from the very beggining that you are willing to go to small claims court over the matter. Debt collectors (esp the shady ones) make money but adding their 'admin fees' to outstanding amount which essentially amount to pay up a small amount now or else. They cannot add any further charges if you have explicity stated you are willing to go to court. All they can do is freeze the amount and either see you in court on leave it. What business will spend the time and arseache of taking you to court for £70 with no prospect of adding extra fees? I'd say no one. Reverting back to my original point though. If they do see you in court you will have to pay them their £70 so my advice is just to pay it. -
After reading (and secretly judging) stories of members losing the arse end and ending up in trouble I had my first experience on the Zed. I came round a roundabout on damp but not soaking roads and off it. Was gentle with it until I was properly straight then gave it some beans and shifted into third. Just as I finished the shift up the arse stepped out big time! It happened so quickly and with no noise or warning. I steered lightly into ito to regain and it stepped out the other side and then miraculously corrected. Can honestly say I @*!# my pants and my heart almost stopped. So this is me giving a formal apology for judging others and thinking it couldnt happen to me. I will now be more careful when the roads are anything but bone dry.

I'm not really a believer in loan insurance. If you're so uncertain about your income / situation, should you really be insuring money you borrowed (or borrowing the money in the first place) to buy a sports car? Push comes to shove I'd save the cost of the insurance, put it in a jar and if the shite hits the fan then sell your car to pay the loan off. It's the constant leveraging, insuring and releveraging that's got so many people I know (myself included) into really bad situations in the past.

IDEA. Could we go a different route by making a custom mould sheath for the existing key? Could have a cool Z on it. Second thoughts its just a ball ache for a car key isnt it!

Im running this with an ATI 5770 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu ... 44&subcat= Great system setup but the card's a little flimsy when trying to run game on Ultra settings.
-
Unlikely to get 6 though as this system is based on the new Sandybridge cpu that will have a dual channel board. So really it will have to be either a 4gb or 8gb set up. The older 1366 pin I7 cpu's which need an x58 chipset motherboard are triple channel and in that case you could fit 3 2gb memory sticks. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu ... ubcat=1859 My mistake. Go for 8gb then!

The PSU is a very important component mate so you really don't want to scrimp here. I'd get a Corsair 650w to be honest and don't be tempted by cheap brands as they arnt stable. It's down to personal preference with graphics cards but I'd be inclined to go with an ATI card like the 6870. Blow for blow its better than the GTX460, quieter, cooler and most importantly, uses less juice. If you're getting an i7 I'd spend another £70 getting a specific CPU cooler and overclocking it to an easy and stable 4ghz. That will do you better than the extra cores. If you're stuck for money my advice would be to trade down to a core i5 760 and spend the money on clocking it rather than having an out the box i7. 6gig of ram would be better than 4 for day to day but I doubt you're ever going to need more than that unless you're spinning large graphics work on the system. There will invariably come a point in time (unfortunately about 2-3 years tops) where there is little point in upgrading components as the processing speed / capabilities of that new component will be bottlenecked by the other out of date components on your system. It's one of those chain being as strong as the weakest link thingys im afraid. Hope that helps!

This is the unicorn of the Zed world. Dont think will ever come to fruition.

Don't know this specific type of insurance but I would expect that trackday insurance only covers your car no matter who else is involved. i.e Whether you or somone else causes the crash only your car is covered. Same for injury although I'd be surprised if the track didnt make you sign a health and safety waiver. Sure somone that knows what they are talking about will be along shortly..............

I don't drive much (3k last year) and the Zed is just a toy so fuel could double before I'd give up driving.

I've got the scorpion and it's a lush sound! Not mega noisy but makes a nice sound when you give it the berries!
