I am sorry to hear about the two zeds!! when i got my roadster a few months ago- someone told me i didnt need to put the expensive stuff in! i thought they meant i can therefore use 95ron. So the first month and more i was buying that. then after another chat with them they said by 'expensive stuff' they only meant shell v power! i was very scared then that id been putting 95 ron in! however after alot of reading- it seems poss half of the forum (maybe less) use 95...... i switched to tesco 99 as i like the clubcard points and its closest to me. Then i switched to shell v power because alot of friends said they notice a difference and tesco fuel still isnt all that great i would rather use tesco - for my reasons above- plus its cheaper than v power... BUT if v power is def better for the running of my car- ill continue with it! is there a right or wrong answer whats best for my 350z? i would like to use what the car would prefer! but she wont answer me am i just panicing - is tesco 99 perfectly fine ? i assume so!? is v power only diiferent because its slightly cleaner fuel (or something like that ive read.) aslong as tesco 99 wont harm her, i think im happy! but if theres definate advantages to v power- id like to know. i am poor haha.... but i will put the best in her, cause i worry! help!

Hey all, does anyone have some Brake fluid and Batt covers? perhaps someone thats bought the carbon ones? also, im after.... any bay bling really/ carbon bits! a nice rad cap...second hand is fine with me, tight budget but wanting to clean her up Whats the best hose kit to get also? best price?? i also have a light out on my roadster- the rear brake light.... just sits behind roof?? i have no idea what bulb i need?! any help greatly appreciated im also gutted i dont have the brembos, a full sets on ebay £800... ouch... does anyone know anywhere i could get this cheaper?

erm, i shall not be wearing a bikino for this job im afraid.. more like an old scruffy tshirt and jeans!!!! ill post a before and after pic, and hope that there is a difference and no, no - not a before and after of bikini then tshirt and jeans!!!!!

I wouldn't...in my opinion it's too risky. My friend's car started misfiring after doing his. To be fair I don't think he protected the electrics properly. When I first bought my car, my engine bay was not in good nick either. I used Autoglym Engine and Machine cleaner and Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber care, the engine bay looks nice and clean now. I just make sure I keep on top of it every couple of months. I will ensure everythings covered over that should be... i might actually try clean it up myself- as you have ... ive read up on how, great step by step guides on here ive found... and if it comes out ok then i wont need to steam clean... ill see!!

Hey, its time to clean my bay- i bought my roadster a couple of months ago now, its safe to say the last owner never cleaned the bay !! its pretty filthy! I have a good friend with a steam cleaner offering to clean it that way... i have done a bit of reading and seen some people on here say that the electrics may not work after!? has anyone steam cleaned there Zeds bay? are there precautions i could take to ensure no damage could be done as a result? I dont think my friend would do it unless he was confident itll be ok, but then again maybe all the cars he has done have been safer to do!? i really dont know.... so any opinions would be good. Im happy to get in there with some cloths and product! but seriously its so dirty i feel it just needs it !!! and then ill keep it clean after!!

Hey, OK, please dont laugh... i have a question which i think may be silly but its best to check as i want to ensure i do not mess around with my Zed! I usually get an oil change twice a year.. is this excessive or good for a Zed? I have thought in the past im being silly and its not necessary? however ..rather be safe than sorry! i do about 11,000 miles a year, prob a bit less. I have just bought my Zed Roadster, 53 plate, import.... it was serviced in April.... would it be a good idea to change the oil and filter? Id like to top it up, so its full....... here comes the silly question; i dont know what oil the previous owner has in there! nissan did the service though. is it ok to top up with different oil!? or should the tank have the same oil in throughout?! Which oil is best for my car 88k miles......? i have read up on this and so far found most suggest 5w30 fully synth? sorry if all a bit silly questions.... I want to learn though also- the oil temp on the gauge - what should that typically read? i am just paranoid i think and want to make sure my zed is running well i have not a clue about alot of this as i just usually give my cars to my garage... but this is my first more 'performance' car so i want to learn and understand it and give it everything it needs

This is good news, and probably cheaper than Nissan too !! annoyingly i only have the ONE KEYFOB!!! Has any one else got one copied? i hope this is possible... ive always had two. Its a worry just one!! Would Nissan have to write another fob or can someone else do that? also... how do they do that!? as ill need the fob so cant send it off!!

Hey all, I went to Timpsons in town today and asked them to replace my key fob battery... as sometimes now to open my Zed it doesnt work (for ages!! bit scary!!) alarm goes off if i do it with key. They asked me whether it has a 'time delay' on it- they said if it does and they take the battery out... it will then not work... so i didnt get them to do it.... Has anyone ever heard of this? they didnt even look at the key fob properly, they just said theyd rather not do it incase it has got time delay.?? I am hoping you all can assure me it hasnt got this and youve all swapped batteries over no problem.. or would you advise i do go to Nissan??? (be a pain in ass as timpsons is next to my work!!) thanks

Thanks karl, Maybe its the same thing as you then.... I will leave it all as it is for a while for now... not ideal but its getting me around! Yep i was straight on the mods, I usually am! have had some nice modified cars, this one i cant afford to mod alot, but ive done what i can so at least at the shows i attend it looks a bit special.... ..all down to taste though, im sure some people would say to leave them standard maybe! the flap is now just "up" so my reversing cam is working thanks to bullet magnet.... the sat nav likes to beep at me and flash up jap symbols, its quite entertaining but im sure itll soon annoy me!

"getting fixed" thats an interesting way of putting it !!! it wasnt fixable. it was bent and with a bodykit on it. anyway, less said about it the better! i have been paid off as it was dangerous, and now i have a better one as you say

Thanks Carla Update; the new rear tyres have sorted the slip warning coming on , phew!! i have meshed the front bumper, and put a small jap plate to the side, i love it now, really happy with her... as you can see below !!! about time i was happy with a 350z !!! so the latest issue is the bose cd player ... standard.. i know most owners throw them away i have heard as they are rubbish?! well, mine worked for a few days, played my 6 cds.... i was very happy .... and now... it just says ' check disc' GRRR!!!! theyre the same cds that were previously working in her the day before any ideas? i tried to hit it to the left/ right of it ! as i heard a good bash may work..used to work on my old tv !! but that hasnt helped d'oh !!!! ideally id love it working as no money for another cd player at present .... ..... maybe its because i was playing Gary Barlow

i have more info ; fronts are 225/45 zr 18 91w rears are 245/45/zr 18 96w all kaiser tyres. i have same finichis on my FTO... they were my only wheels and they never had any issue and sat in snow / all sorts of weather as had no garage,...... ?????? i hope they dont go bad over winter.....???????

for sale, 4 350z alloys with tyres- all tyres have good tread! and 3 alloys are almost perfect, just one with slight curbing- in a pic, can hardly see it though. looking for £180. the alloys are in watford hertfordshire. pm me for details or if you are interested
