its a fairly common roadster roof issue perhaps? as the only 4 people i have spoken to really with them have had this ! but sadly no one has got to the bottom of it. I have had a few garages have a look, noen knew what was wrong, and once the roof has worked its impossible to then tell what could be getting jammed! Some nice helpful z owners at the kent meet last month had a look for me, and saw my roof doing this... they said it could be one of the motors... seems to need that final push to get the roof down. I have also had some friends give my roof a gentle push and it goes down in that final stage.... kinda clicks into where its meant to its something i would love to fix, im waiting to see how she is when its warmer outside as in the warmer weather i never had any issues

Hey !! wow !! this is exactly what my roof does too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its worse in the cold, can take 15 times to shut! i think its the main motor thats letting it down- loses power? needs a refurb!? this is what i have been told.... i have learnt to live with it and when i put the roof down i just pray it goes down, usually takes 3 /4 times to be honest, which yes is highly embarrasing if my friends are present! or anyone realy watching and laughing but exactly how you described it - thats what mine does - she was spot on in the summer months! i think perhaps the cold doesnt help?! Will do. Its as if the mechanism is getting caught on something. You can see the motor has enough torque and is trying to pull the roof down, but its not having it. Its had to see when you look, so i`ll have to enlist an assistant to operate the mechanism whilst i look at the roof. Will see if i can do that this weekend. Strange how yours only did it once, then now is okay though!

I have this too! i cant see much at all in the dark! ill ask my garage to tell me if they need adjusting.... but they prob wont be able to tell in the day light!?

Hey all, Just a quick question, My Zed was last serviced in Feb, it has full year by year NISSAN service history.... I would like to get the oil changed now though, as i feel it could probably do with that! I cant afford to go to Nissan for a full service and my friend who is great with cars and has offered to do it. I trust him with my car... Apart from Oil, what else should I ask him to do!? Spark Plugs too? Is there anything on the long service list that I really should change too? Sorry if this seems a silly question..... I know its lame i cant afford a proper full service, but it is in my mind and i am very conscious of looking after the car! I will look at the service history and see for myself what Nissan do each year too for some research on the car... but thought you lot would be best to ask.... Im sure some of you service them yourselves! ? thank you ...

HMM this is interesting.. i am running bridgestones and find the same... what tyres are best then!? useful info to have as i need to replace some tyres soon....

crikey !! ill look into this!!!! i have seen other engine covers and inside bonnets and all sorts with this painted on! i didnt know its true meaning.... hmm well its a bit late now.... and i like the cover..... i hope no one at a car show gets offended! hopefully theyll just think "she doesnt probably know the meaning of it!?" which infact is true then! owwh that is a shame!!! I wouldn't worry too much, I still have my rising sun support stick propped up in my living room, no one else knows what it means really. If you personally don't have a problem with it then its fine if someone else does, then that's something they need to deal with, I didn't throw my flag away because my mate was offended by it. Have a read up on it, always good to prop up your knowledge on history, heck if someone does say something at a car show at least you can talk in an informed manner about it! Very true- ill do some reading and if anyone says anything ill shock them with my knowledge on it- ill say i found after after... which will be the truth if it offends me ill repaint it- however i doubt that will happen! off to google it all! ...................

Agreed, tough time with the last Zed which could have put the poor thing off for life! I'm not if the full story will ever come out but it really was horrendous. thank you ... yes it really was horrendous and no one really knows everything! what they do know is bad enough .... but yes ive moved on and now when i think of a 350z its my roadster and i dont need tears in my eyes anymore... i needed to have another one and things to go well. haha im so broke owning this car with the fuel / costs (loan!!!) but it makes me happy !

hey all. i thought id post some pics of my bay... though i realise when i go to sell ill have to get a new engine cover now! and also realise some of you may not wish to apply sun glasses when you lift your bonnets! but its quite "me" and i like it! on a v tiny budget ! i am after a oem batt cover if anyone knows someone with one spare!!! i got the rubber surround from zedmanalex the sky insurance sticker although huge is a thank you for 5 years of excellent service have a bit more work to do and lots more bits to get.... but its better than it was, the last owner never once cleaned it! it was so dirty! seems a cheap thing to do to keep me happy! even though i wont be lifting the bonnet alot!

I am 27 (but told i look about 24 ) i get really good reactions to my Zed, i think its more from "car people" who probably have respect that a female has a 3.5! I smile everytime i walk up to my Z!!! although its the roadster i dont think its all that girly at all like a few have already said- i get asked what i do for a living, and sadly i know these people all think im loaded and the car was prob over 15k, sadly we all know the car was just around £7k... so basiclly the price of a new corsa / fiesta! i know which car is best

i also need this too!! cant find one anywhere i bought the rubber surround and clips off alex though, so im half way there!!

steam cleaned my bay the other day bit cleaner now ... i am indeed missing the oem batt cover plus the surround it attaches to any one have these parts on a breaking one?
