  1. Welcome aboard, sounds like you're going to enjoy the new wheels Don't forget to post some pics
  2. Some nice cars, especially the 240Z, but you got my vote as I do think your car is a cracker Neil. Best of luck
  3. Good stuff We can't do the full drive on the Sunday I don't think. In the past there has been a 'stop off' halfway through the day and we've said cheerio to folks then and headed home.
  4. Totally understand your reservation, it's just a natural reaction to something uncertain. The better half and I attended our first meet in 2010, having been to a couple of the local meets in Bristol, we were equally unsure what to expect. All I can say is when we first got to Moreton and parked the car no sooner had we grabbed a drink and got outside to see 'what was what' that Neil (Lincolnbaggie) saw us said "Hello, nice Zed.. " and just started chatting away. It was so nice being made welcome straight away and it really helped us relax, sure the beer might have contributed as well mind Once we'd checked in with Ebized and Beavis letting them know we had arrived the rest of the evening followed on in the same vein. Plenty of really nice people who were happy to gas and chat away, it was really friendly. I remember we nattered away with Shire and his better half for a good while, with James showing me round his car, and me being very envious of how shiney everything under his bonnet was. Those first few hours really set the tempo and atmosphere for the rest of the weekend. Friendly company, a great opportunity to go up to people and say "How do you get this to work / What wheels are those / Can I change this?" etc. More than that though it was really nice to chat to whole load of people who were genuinly friendly and interested in not only your car but where you'd come from, what you did, where you'd been to, what you were looking forward to for the weekend and beyond, it was great. Then came the roads, which I have to say really take some beating. The routes that Colin, Dave, Chris and others put together are something else. Perfect for enjoying the Zed in an environment it was meant to be driven in. You really will get to put your car through its paces and you will also see some of the most stunning scenery ever. Don't worry about it being some mad mass race with everyone going hell for leather like a mad bunch or petrol head fiends, it's not like that at all. Indeed that sort of attituide is actively discouraged, it's actually quite a relaxed affair. If you go and don't enjoy it, at least you've given it a go. If you don't go however, how will you ever know how much fun it's going to be?
  5. Welcome Mark, loads of info to be found here and plenty of knowledge free to be had
  6. Welcome Dan, hope you enjoy the new wheels You will find a whole load of info in this site which will help you to enjoy and look after your new car. All the best with getting to know it.
  7. Nice looking Zed you've got yourself there by the looks of it, welcome aboard Liam
  8. Great looking gti-6 tommy, you might have a to keep a real eye out for what you're after, especially if you want the frost interior. You're already looking at the best site for advice, pointers and tips though. Fiingers crossed you find what you're after
  9. Welcome Andy, looks like you've got yourself a cracker there, lovely looking Zed
  10. Welcome John, glad you got a car you're happy with, don't forget to post up some pic's As for tyres the Bridgestone REO50's are good, the REO50A's are better. The Falken 452's and Vredestein Sessanta are popular among a lot of the forum members for value, grip and decent mileage life. The Michellin Pilot Sports seem to be the one's to go for if you want to splash a little extra loot on your rubber, although they are a bit softer and may wear more quickly
  11. "I've found sum kik azz rimz, will I need to get the wheel archez rolled?...."
  12. "I've not bought a Zed, but I am going to (honest) and I must turbo-charge, supercharge, Nitros it (preferably all three at the same time) ASAP, will it break?...."
  13. "I've seen a Zed and it lookz the shizzz. The dude sayz itz a UK car but I'm not sure. How do I tell if itz an importz / JDM?"
  14. "Are there any mods for the birdview satnav?"
  15. "I've heard the 350Z is 'twitchy' and 'dangerous'"
  16. If it's NBS you're talking about then it's a good chance it is. Used to catch the train in to work normally, with the occasional run in to the office. Liked to try and park at the end of the car park near the 'multi story', near where they keep / kept the grit / salt / tractor
  17. Spotted at Lepson's when I popped in to see them about a wheel re-furb quote
  18. The sentences given were the maximum that the judge was able to give based on the law and the circumstances of the case and crime. It seems to me that, when you take a step back, this is actually an example of the justice system actually doing what it should, although at first glance this statement might seem strange. It's a tragedy and it's inexcusable that it has taken this long. However on the basis of attitudes, practices, investigation techniques, evidence provided, the criminal justice system and the willingness of people (in this case the family, police, cps and others) to keep the investigation in to Stephen's murder in the news, the course of justice has finally caught up with the facts and justice has been served. Yes it has cost a lot of money (what is the price of justice?), yes it has taken a long time, yes there are still many more issues surrounding the relationship between black, asian and other communities / minorities and the police but this is a watershed / stepping stone moment. Let's hope we can reduce the likelyhood of this kind of situation ever happening again, although for Anuj Bidve it's already too late. There is much more I could post on this matter but I don't think I should. Let's just hope that young 18 year old Stephen Lawrence, who was murdered simply because we was black and Anuj Bidve who was murdered simply because he was Indian, didn't die and that our society learns nothing from their murders. That our society decides to learn nothing about the very serious and significant issues which we still face and which fester away at the very heart our communities is a very real risk. Let's hope that doesn't happen, let's hope we learn something.
