+1 on Platinum Nissan at Box, good guys. They have looked after my Zed a number of times for all sorts of bits and bobs, servicing included. Appreciate, as choptop says, that it's a little bit of a journey for you.

I always try very hard to park conscientiously when I'm in a supermarket, shopping centre or even on the street. Bad or selfish parking infuriates me, so I'm sure it does the same to other people. In a multistory or supermarket car park I'll park somewhere further away from the entrance, I don't mind the extra walk and there's less chance of getting a door ding. Like most here, I've parked my Zed all alone in a space to come back finding cars parked either side, even though there's lots of spaces left. I think that's just those car users making the same judgement as us "Mmm looks a smart motor, they're probably quite careful, if I park it next to that car they're not likely to ding my door......". I really do think this is true, much as If I park next to a 911, F355 or Bentley, I'd assume they'd be careful owners and not ding my car. We live right in the centre of Bath and parking is notoriously difficult here, you're always at risk of getting a knock or ding, I try not to worry about it now. Most people on our 'road', which strictly speaking is just a big roundabout, are pretty good at parking and try their best to leave room, gaps, space etc. Its mostly the tourists and stuff who can't park or who moan about it where we are, but then the road is curved, so I guess that does notch up the difficulty level a bit. Still, I tend to manage to park by using the skill of eyes and these amazing things attached to my car called 'mirrors', it would seem not everyone has had training on them

Hi Holly, welcome aboard As Keysers indicated, have a look on the for sale section here. You might not find exactly the car you're after but it will enable you to compare what you see there to what you'll see on Autotrader, Pistonheads and stealer websites. Jay's nailed it as well, if you provide a bit more detail about what you're after (age, mileage, spec etc) then you never know what the guys and girls on here will ferret out of the undergrowth

You could try FCM Motorsport on Netham Road (BS5). They're a trader here on the forum and have done work on my car and a number of Bristol members. They specialise in Impreza's and Evo's and are very well respected in terms of their experience and knowledge with those cars. They've really dived in in to Zed's in the last few years and certainly treated my car with care and done some good work. If you want Nissan servicing and care I tend to take my car to Platinum Nissan in Box who have always been as good as gold. They've serviced my car regularly. Have always been willing to have a nose at it if I've turned up with a 'noise' or a 'rattle'. Quite a few times they've looked at things for me, given a recommendation after spending an hour or so looking at stuff and not charged me, good guys, helpful and polite.

My better half seems to have 'the smarts', she's just finishing her second masters degree. She does have a very interesting job meeting all sorts of interesting people, mainly about how people and things are being looked after and accounted for. Its a bit difficult to mention anything more though

+1 on this, you get stung big time in relation to a company car as a taxable benefit. In your shoes I'd take the allowance, even though that will be taxed. I would then look to get a smart 'shed' outright, if you think your position in the company and the nature of your job will allow that. So spend a little bit of money on a decent shed, get the benefit of the allowance to use for fuel for work, spending on work lunches or even buying a spandex cat suit if you so wish

Hi Mikey, welcome aboard Damn shame about your Celica, great looking car, must have been gutting. The guys have already recommended using the search and FAQ's section so that's been covered. Have a good nose around, you'll find all sorts of info, if you can't find what you're after feel free to ask. As for rear wheel drive you really shouldn't let it worry you. You'll find it's a different type of driving style but IMO ultimately more rewarding than front wheel drive when you're driving a car with a certain level of performance and power. The key is smooth progressive driving, no snatching and stabbing at the loud pedal and graduated steering input. That's not to say you can't flick up through the box and make 'progress' easily. Its just that the method of doing things like that takes a bit more consideration initially, but that just comes with practice, you'll soon suss it out. Plus the Zed has traction control to help keep you pointed in the right direction if you slightly overstep things, not that you should take that as an invitation to light up the rears because it's there to protect you. You shouldn't really be putting yourself in a position that often that the TCS has to kick in, if you are, you're doing something wrong. EDIT: Forgot to mention that I've driven my Zed in driving rain, sleet n snow (although not deep snow) without any major issues. Making sure you fit decent tyres at the correct pressure will make a significant difference. In the wet its best to be aware you have a big lump up the front with not a lot of weight on the rear, where you have around 276 BHP going through the wheels. If you fail to consider this and drive as you would in the dry you're promoting an opportunity to spin it and bin it, just bear the road and tyre conditions in mind. That being said all that I've written about isn't particular or specific to the Zed, that's just about good, measured driving.
