  1. Spotted again, still on Milsom street this morning about 10-ish, must be a local resident
  2. Spotted this morning just after 8am on Milsom Street outside Jolly's
  3. Spotted just before 8am as I was going past the police station, very smart lady driving a nice looking GM Roadster.
  4. Fair play Alex, that's a very generous offer, good man
  5. I voted because if I didn't then I don't believe I could justify moaning about the outcome. Where as now I can spend many happy hours spitting blood and gnashing my teeth at the result. What I'm most frustrated about is that, as far as I can recall, we didn't actually get an opportunity to say "Actually, we don't want P&CC's at all, not one, we don't want any..." that's what annoys me. Yet another layer of the very thin veneer of demorcacy that we are supposed to live under is removed.
  6. +1 on a lot of the comments above. Who would I like to have in charge of, managing and responsible for the Avon and Somerset Constabulary....whoevers in the Chief Constables post, that's who. I will vote as I believe it's important to exercise my right to vote. One of the candidates here has a number of years exeperience as a Police Officer, I may not align to his politics but I'd rather have someone at the top, if this is the model which is going to be followed, who's actually done the job. We all know what this is about guys, this is about lack of funds and massive cuts to come. They government know that massive savings have to be made on frontline policing and support services, it's unavoidable. This is not about giving us a choice and more control, this is about passing the buck. In a year or two when force sizes have been reduced and the crime statistics in the A&S constabulary area are showing increases in all types of criminal activity. The government in charge, (whoever they may be), will will respond to the outcry and dissatisfaction of the voting public by doing exactly what this approach allows them to do, they will pass the buck "Well these commissioners really should be doing a better job, they need to improve, its terrible for you good people of Bristol to have such an appaling service, outragous etc, etc....blah, blah, blah......" Its sickens me, I don't expect my government to tell me the truth, they rarely do. However; I do expect them to have the decency to at least attempt to disguise thier lies and deceit. They're not even bothering do that any more, they may as well be saying "...Would you like the moon in a stick, look.....here it is.....try and catch it..." *and relax* *Edited for poor spelling caused by frustration and anger*
  7. Feel for you, this is one of those sick to the pit of the stomach feelings, I sincerely hope its tracked down and returned. I will keep my eyes open for it
  8. 550 Maranello, not easy to find in that price bracket, but it is possible
  9. Hi Graham, I've got a few things to try so I'll take a crack at it with another phone and also a laptop to check the b/tooth connection. I fired a pm through to Nurrish as well in case he picks it up. Thanks
  10. Think the first single I remember having was "Mahna Mahna / Ma-Na - Ma-Na" or however you spell it by the Muppets, think that was about 1977 but that was bought for me. First 'proper' singles I bought were Hot Water - Level 42 and 19 - Paul Hardcastle
  11. Sorry for taking this topic in a new direction. Anyone with a Nurrish Sat Nav have any ideas about how I can get my iPhone to connect to the Bluetooth? Bluetooh on iPhone on, Bluetooth on system on but the "connect" icon on the nav system isn't active or 'selectable' so I don't seem to be able to connect the phone and system for dialling, accepting calles etc. Any ideas?
  12. +1 as the old adage goes - "Make is stop, make it handle, make it go" The best advice is to think. Think about your driving approach, think about the speed limit asigned to the road which you're on and adhere to it, think about the conditions of the road and the conditions in which you're driving, think about other road users, how they'll behave (or won't). That's the best way to avoid speeding related issues and accidents in my view
  13. Please be very careful whatever you do as I unfortunately had a bit of a typing accident a while ago, sigining off to one of my senior clients in a hurry and flurry of sausage fingered typing, wishing him "Best Retards"
  14. Mate, damn shame about your Zed but the best thing by far is that there were no serious injuries, that is the number one thing.by a million miles
  15. A big + 1 on the accommodation front, get that organised asap if you're going to say over.
  16. Spotted going past the East Berkshire College campus as I was walking out to lunch just after midday-ish today, looked very shiney
  17. I think one of the coolest things we saw last time whilst wandering around (and there were so many others) was Horacio Pagani driving and a brand spanking, new out of the box, Huayra around the grounds of Goodwood House and then manouvering and reversing it on to a special stand, it was so cool. I think that was after watching Ken Block do some crazy ass stunts in his car on the hill climb in front of Goodwood House, or was that after bumping in to Paddy Hopkirk and having a great chat about his wonderful mini drives and the fesitval. Or was it just before we were stood in the pits when the FI cars were coming back in to the paddock and Marc Gene letting the clutch out on the the Ferrari in front of us so he could whip the ass end round to get it lined up for the Ferrari pit area (left my ears ringing for about an hour !). Oh well, I can't quite remember, as you can tell its actually quite boring and you'll probably hate it and wouldn't enjoy all the sights, sounds, cars, girls (ahem) excuses to buy bits for your car to clean it, make it look / go faster, a glass of bubbly etc........
  18. I'd say yes, you have to go at least once. You have a couple of options depending on your finances and time off etc. You could go on the Saturday which leaves the Sunday free to do normal at home weekend stuff. Saturday is fairly busy but if you get there early you should be ok to see all the cool stuff and then meander around the rest of it for the afternoon. As others have said, you will struggle to do everything, a few musts are as follows for me: 1) See if you can get near the hill climb start, great to see the cars / bikes launching off! 2) The pits, make sure you have a wander around the pits area, its amazing to get so close to the cars (and drivers, designers, team owners etc) 3) Try and see the off roading / rallying near the top of the hill climb if you can, great action up there although its a bit of a walk! 4) The Super Car paddock, some drool inducing vehicles to be seen 5) Pimms tent, rude not to, but no driving afterwards of course! If you can stretch to it I would do the Friday and the Saturday, I know its two days but the Friday is much quiter and you get a great chance to look around, leaving you to concentrate on the hill action / pits on Saturday. The Sunday is great as its the hill climb final day but it can get manic on Sunday, so just bear that in mind. We stayed at a a litle place called East Lavant and actually walked to the FoS on the Saturday / Sunday and got taxi's back, about £6 I think. Best thing about the FoS is walking around and seeing everything, that's the fun of it. We had grandstand tickets one year and to be fair it did give a great view of the action, we saw a lot more from there but I wouldn't say it's essential. Food and drink wise we've taken a cool bag, some rolls, dips, couple of beers, wine and stuff. Make sure you take water though if the weather is really good you'll need it.
  19. +1 on this. You might feel better if you'd have wound the window down and asked "...can I help, is everything ok?.." and acted appropriately depending on the response. However you made the decision not too because it appeared there were people looking after and caring for the person. I don't think you should beat yourself up over it. As Drayvn has said, I will always offer help if I think its needed and if it's required I will give it, if not I'll not get in their way and carry on with my journey.
  20. Spotted and 06 plate Blade (I think) heading through and off the Aztec Roundabout this morning about 07:30-07:40 this morning, looked very good, nice to hear the exhaust tone as you 'left the scene' so to speak
  21. +1 with Chestefield's advice, backup, reformat, re-instal and getting your ISP to change your IP address, if its static, is also a good idea.
