I am trying really hard at the moment to stop myself buying another Zed
-
Fantastic news, well done Jim
-
Oops, sorry, realised you posted this in the 370Z section, I have a 350Z so ignore my advice

Thats exactly what I was thinking when I saw them complaining. Use the new money as a nice way to move out of the smoke into a nice big country mansion Like recent monied neighbours to Oulton and Mallory Parks and use your wealth and social clout to demand further noise restrictions S. I'm afraid I have no time for people like that, in my view they can,..... *ahem* "Do one"

Holy Moly Dave, I thought I was getting a good speed with 80Mb! When the BT chappy was installing ours he did say they'd been testing 'super - duper' fibre for a long time and that it would change a hell of a lot once it all went fully live.

I find myself agreeing with you Biscuit, not a great deal of sympathy or interest in either party if I'm totally honest. I don't have any issues with these young guys enjoying thier income, their affluence and having fun, but there is a time and a place. The reason they come to London is because they want to go clubbing, pick up girls and have a bit of freedom, not a problem in itself. Although the reason they do it here is presumably because its against the faith based rule of law in their own environment. It concerns me however that the culture they are from, because of its tribal and traditional nature, does not (for the most part) respect the rights of women or others outside of their circle or from different cultures, in my experience. The notion of respect is different from our own culture, we have to understand that, one would hoe they understand our culture and notion of respect etc. As for the more traditional residents of Knightsbridge or Kensington / Chealsea I thought their views were racist and hypocritical. I can understand the frustration of the noise but for god sake you live in a major world capital city, it gets noisy. If it's that bad buy and wear earplugs. Also, if you cannot enjoy and appreciate the diverstity and cultural opportunities of living in such a place, then maybe it's not the right place for you to be. Finally those residents, having spent the last 20 years or so enjoying the increase in the value of thier property or estate. This being especialy so in the last 5 -10 years with new Arab, Russian and Chinese money flowing in to the capital. I am amazed they then have the audacity and bare faced cheek to criticise the very source of that wealth which has increased their own substantially in proportion to the majority of those around them. If you enjoy those benefits then you also have to be prepared to move forward and embrace change, whether it be culturaly, societal or politcal and live with it. Basically, Young Arabs - Guys, come over here and enjoy yourselves, have fun but abide by the rules and try to understand and have some respect for others. Old Fogeys - Embrace the cultural change, enjoy the atmosphere and new sense of life its bringing. Or if you don't like, buy some ear plugs, and flog your Knightsbidge / Kensington apartment to an Arab, Chinese or Russian sugar daddy for 25% more than its worth and buy a nice place in the country

Black 350Z - Bath, 10:30am this morning
Bockaaarck replied to Bockaaarck's topic in Spotted or Flyered
Definitely not you mate, this chap was far too dapper  -
Spotted a smart looking young chap driving very nice black 350Z over the Windsor Bridge in Bath this morning, more or less bang on 10:30. I was taking the shed for a service and you scooted over the bridge towards me, headed right along the Upper Bristol Road towards the park and the centre.

Welcome Rich, sounds like you've got some great plans, keep us updated -
Hello Alex and welcome to you
-
Welcome to the forum Simon, hope you're enjoying having your Zed
-
Welcome aboard, be interesting to hear what you think of the 370 after having a 350
-
Welcome aboard Steve, hope you're enjoying the Zed

Six of one, half a dozen of the other Not a huge amount of difference between them other than what the guys have already indicated. Would you feel the difference? Possibly, I run a 2003 JDM with the 276 bhp (with a plenum spacer, Milltek exhaust and Y-Pipe modification and UpRev) and it feels plenty fast enough to me

I remember Keith being at the Wales meets, very sad news indeed. Condolences to his loved ones and friends.

Ian, I think this is a top effort. The locations, costs etc look realistic, and that's the important thing. No point in saying to people "It'll cost you 50p and packet of KP Skips...." if that's not realistic. All of the options will take in some great locations, stunning scenery, incredible history / culture and fantastic roads, very tempting indeed.

That's gutting Hennerz, sadly this kind of thing happens all too often. So many forum members have had their cars damaged in this kind of way, it's so bloody frustrating.

Very tidy looking

The Bridgestone REO40's I had were awful, the RE050's I'm lead to believe are significant improvement over those. The RE050A's are said to be even better than the RE050's, so if you want to stick to Bridgestone then I would be tempted to go for those. The Michelin Pilot Sport 2's are a favourite of quite a few of the guys here for their excellent grip and consistent handling, although I believe the side wall can be a little on the softer side. You'll also find that there are quite a few members who go for the Falken 452's (myself included) as a decent mid-range tyre as well as those who use and rate Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta. As for swapping from one tyre manufacturer to another that's a personal thing, will you notice the difference, well possibly. Will swapping from the Bridgestones to another tyre maker (Michelin, Dunlop, Goodyear etc) ruin you car, well no, it's not going to make the car totally unstable and unusable unless perhaps if you go for mega budget tyres. I use the Falkens and like them, although I'm tempted to try the RE050A's next time. I run 19/35/245 and 19/35/275 so not the standard wheel tyre config. I know that the Michelin / Bridgestone are a superior tyre and perhaps I will treat myself to some in the new year. However, a new rear for me if I buy a Falken 452 is £180 a tyre, Michelin Pilot Sport 2 is going to cost £309 per tyre, REO50A = £341 per tyre (prices from Black Circles) so that's another thing you have to weigh up. I like the Falken's because I can feel when they start to go, I can sense when they're losing that in inherent grip and I then know within 2-3000 miles I will need to change them. For you it might be totally different, what I would say is buy the best tyres you can afford and try to avoid mixing tyres if you possibly can, it's generally a bad idea

SMD's pretty well hit the spot, they key is smooth progressive driving, none of this ON / OFF switch stabbing of the loud pedal in the wet. A subtle touch along with some anticipation (both of which SMD is an expert at  ) should see you pretty alright. Avoiding the mid turn or roundabout foot plant should prevent anything too nasty catching you out. In truth a bit of practice along with a good dose of common sense will help you get used to the foibles of RWD in the wet.

Good work Steve

No need to tell you that the driving experience from the Westfield will be different but as much fun in its own way. The Zed for the most part isn't going to touch the Westfield in 0-60 stakes but the grunt, effort and sound of getting there will. The Zed won't be as nimble as the Westfield as it is fundamentally a GT car, so you can't drive it with your arse hanging out in quite the same way. That being said, managing and accounting for the weight and GT set up when making 'progress' is a pleasurable challenge in itself, especially because the balance of the Zed is so good. For scooting out along decent A roads with a few challenges, twists and turns the Zed really is good fun and it's rewarding when you get the opportunity to drive it in those circumstances. For a car with a keenness to 'get up and go' and a ratio of power, balance and poise which can be exploited to sublime proportions when driven well, when roads and conditions allow, its cracking value for money. I think its that final element which at the end is important. For the money you're looking to spend you will get a car that will have a character and will be a lot of fun to own and drive. Plus there's a great forum and social side as you can probably tell
