With the TCS on you won't slide unless you are being REALLY silly.... Just push till it feels on the edge, if it does break free the TCS will catch it Obviously best not on the open road It's all about the 'touch' and the 'feel' isn't it SMD

I have a Milltek, partnered with a Stillen Y Pipe and Berks HFCS (Damn you SMD / Will370z ) and now the HFC's have settled in it sounds dreamy.

Spotted heading down Nicholson Street on to Clerk Street as we were enjoying Haddock and Chips at the City Restaurant. Looked very cleans and tidy

Just say "....I know, it's weird this car thing isn't it. Fortunately, looking at your car, at least you do look like a bored, under achieving, disappointment to your wife, salary man. So I guess it can be accurate..."

Well said stuarty

drginger, whichever Y pipe you decide to go for you'll get great advice and service from both Tarmac and CS who've responded here. I personally have the a Stillen which works well for me, although the Cobra does sound good also

It's a shame you had to sell up, but in the circumstances makes sense. All the best on the housing front and don't be afraid to pay a visit to the forum when time allows

As the guys have said, yes the will pass an MOT so you shouldn't worry too much about that. The BERKS HFCs are great, I had some fitted fairly recently. Initially they were a little raspy. However, given a few months mine bedded in nicely and the exhaust now has a lovely consistent tone, which is subtle at low revs and then rich, deep and almost burbley as I apply a few revs. I do have a Stillen Y Pipe and a Miltek backbox (etc) rather than standard, which probably helps.

In both cases the driving Dips recorded is very poor and falls below acceptable standards, its a worry that there are people out there on the roads who seem to drive like this as a matter of course. Sadly I expect all of us see this kind of thing happening all the time and it can be very frustrating. That being said, as others have held their hands up to, I have been guilty of making mistakes and perhaps not making the best judgement in certain situations. None of it intentional or done with any malice for for thought, just lapses of attention, which I try very hard to avoid. One of the best things I've done is do a half day course with ROSPA, in fact I know there is a very active local group of the IAM in Bath, I'm in the process of getting in touch / getting response from them regards driver advice and training. I believe we are all capable of making mistakes, missing things, errors of judgement, no matter how good we think we are (I consider myself a very average driver). I also think we are all capable of improving and becoming better drivers and road users. With a bit of effort, with thought and plenty of anticipation, we can all get better. Have I ever gone through a red light?.......yes I have and I would do the same in the same circumstances. Mind you, that will depend on whether I'm at the front of a traffic lighted junction with a fire engine, full 'blues and two's behind me, trying to get through the junction to respond to a call. I feel fortunate to be a member of a forum where our interest is driving, because of that we think about driving more, that has to be a good thing no?

Ian, that is a stunning car, you've got yourself a beauty there my friend

I don't believe in all this TV, iPlayer and cyberweb stuff. So can someone tell me when Top Gear is coming to a Zoetrope near me?

I bought my new shed 2/3 weeks ago - 2002 Seat Toledo v5, 0-62 in 8.2 secs (actually a bit quicker than that if I'm honest, certainly as fast as a Golf GTI), leather/alacantra, climate control, multi cd changer, massive boot, great mid range torque, goes like a bloody rocket - £1600. Peugeot coupe maybe, 3 litre v6 version, terrific looking car, very smooth. How about a post 1985 924S, another great handling car, spirited enough and with a great solid engine. What about a Focus ST, the chassis is great, superb reliability decent enough poke to have some fun

Can men and women ever be 'just friends'?
Bockaaarck replied to twobears's topic in Off Topic Discussion
But do you want to be more than 'just friends'? The thing is twobears, you're in to a decision point here. Is it more than 'just friends' as in "bloody hell I would!.." or "...wow, she is something else!..". The two can be extremely close or indeed, proved by interaction over time, very far apart. There are a myriad of complexities, as you know, dependent on interpretation, inference, impression, ones social experiences as well as that of the person (male / female ) that you (or they) may wish to be 'more than good friends with'. This is true for both men / women / young / old etc. You're at risk of over simplification or indeed underestimating the sophistication of men's emotional interaction with women. Let alone under valuing the female ability to know the exact potential impact of their behaviour in terms of love and romance, based on their long established and well recorded 'sense of intuition' -
Dan, sorry to hear how things have turned out, however that's just how life goes sometimes. Not much of a consolation I know, but it's true. I would echo Jetpilots comments and thoughts. Nobody, and I mean not a single person or group of people, has the right or power to determine your happiness other than you! I know that may seem very hard to appreciate and take advantage of, but again, it's true. If you cast a vote against your own happiness then you've made it a majority of one, and that doesn't make sense. The best thing is however that you can make the decision to 'vote yourself happy'. Or at least you can cast that vote and then, like someone working away on a building project or starting a round the world sailing trip. You plan out a foundation, or cast off with a compass and chart and your new journey and new opportunities will begin to realise themselves. Many years ago I came close to killing myself a couple of times. Eventually what stopped me from doing that was realising I held the casting vote in my hand and that if I put it in one ballot box then those things tormenting me had won, there was no recount, the deciding vote would have been cast. I put the vote in the other ballot box, and at the time the only reason I did it was because I knew it would annoy and enrage those things / those people tormenting me. I would still be around, I would still exist and not only that, I had cast the winning vote myself. I had outwitted and beaten them, I can tell you at the time it was the sweetest victory. Now I look back on that and marvel at the inner strength we all have. Based on that decision I have a life I might never experienced, and despite my medical condition, my aches and pains, family frailties and work challenges. I am extremely grateful and thankful every single day for those who are now nearest and dearest to me. So the election campaign has been underway for a while by the sounds of it Dan. There's all sorts of leaflets, banners, broadcasts, speeches etc going on and it's a bit confusing and somewhat overwhelming. Well they may not be able to deliver everything to you next week, next month or even next year and it might not always be an easy journey and you may need to make a few sacrifices along the way. However, in my experience, voting 'happy' has turned out alright in my constituency. It's not perfect, they never promised that, but it's turned out a damn site better than a voting for the other lot. Jeeze, just imagine the mess they'd have made!

The Zed was sold and I bought Vauxhall to replace it...
Bockaaarck replied to coldel's topic in Other Cars
Great car coldel, terrific fun I bet -
That speedo on your Jag must be dodgey Dave, you should get it looked at. Surely you were scooting along at 70mph....

Hej Dave hur mår du?

Spotted about 5pm Stockholm time, scooting away from the lights on Strandvägen. Looked like a matt black paint job, lovely looking exhaust fitted

I feel for you Mooresy14, there's no need for people to do this kind of thing. Sadly, as SMD says above, I think we will see an increase in this kind of 'petty' criminal activity over the coming years.

Spotted this morning going past the garage in Tiddington as I was heading toward the M40 at J8a. Very smart, lovely wheels, looked very shiney and slightly lowered.
-
Lovely GM 370Z pulled up behind me on the roundabout coming off the M40 at j15 this morning about 8-ish. Think it was a 10 plate, looked lovely in my mirrors, very smart. Followed me down the a429 until I turned off to Charlecote.
