Thanks for all the messages everyone Gonna be a shame to let it go after all this time

Thanks for the replies. Yes I think you are right that it is straight through cats that could potentially upset the warning light, not the y-pipe as it doesn't really do anything I have the standard cats so no problem there. I needed to change the Y-Pipe as it was blowing and was beyond simple repair. I have since replaced the Y-pipe and everything fit right and no lights! No increase in noise so should be good for MOTs. It looks quite smart it is a shame it is hidden underneath the car Kurt

Hi, I need a new Y-Pipe section for my exhaust. I have a resonated Cobra mid and backbox, and standard Nissan Cats. Does anyone know what y-pipes will fit this, as some adverts show 2.25"inlet 2.5" outlet, others show 3". I would like to keep it reasonably standard noise and power wise, as I don't want to create problems with engine lights and mots (or is this just in the case of straight through cats?) Thanks

Hi, bit of a late reply as I haven't been on here for a few weeks! I believe the coating provides UV protection although I will have to wait and see. After 6 weeks it still looks how it did the day I did it.

Car looks fantastic, especially in that colour too Every time I read one of these detailing threads my car-OCD jumps up another notch. Need to start avoiding them

If people's headlights are pretty far gone perhaps this kit may not be suitable. Although if like mine you just want to give fairly ok headlights a tidy up, this kit works well. Excuse the bad photos it's hard to capture the difference on a naff phone

Hi, My headlights had been starting to look a bit dull for a while, so I looked into these kits you can get. A lot of people mentioned needing sealing to stop them fading again quickly, which a lot of kits don't seem to have. I found this Meguiars kit the other day which had some with it. As my headlights weren't too bad i first wanted to try a softer method before using the usual wet paper on them. This is how they turned out. They seemed to do a good job. The spray bottle reckons it will last up to a year before they need re-doing. As we don't get much sunshine here and we are now heading into winter i'm hoping that they do last! I will let you know how they are looking in a few months time!

Hi, Will be ordering some new front discs and pads later. I don't do any track days in it and don't drive particularly fast (maybe I should get a 1.0l Fiesta! ) I'm tempted by the EBC discs (standard style) D7122, and either EBC OE spec pads DP1644 or Brembo pads P56047. Anyone have any experience on what might be better for the road: EBC/EBC or EBC/Brembo? Thanks

That's cool, yeah I would like to stick with OEM or better, will look at getting it sorted in the next few weeks. Cheers for the help

quite simply a bang/thump from the front going over bumps - Narrowed it down to the drivers side as I could reproduce it easily by driving the right wheels over cats eyes. Did the new compression arm sort it? I now have the dreaded knocking and want to sort it soon! I've been on google trying to see if there are any upgraded versions around as I imagine sticking a new identical one on will have the same problem again in a few years, but I had no luck. 1-2 years ago I replaced the ARB drop links which got rid of that noise, but this noise is different and has slowly got louder and louder so I imagine this is the compression / banana arm too. Yes it's 100% now - You can uprate the bush but the ball joint is what it is. It's a wear and tear item. OK thanks for that, yeah I imagine I will keep the standard spec bush as it seems likely the ball joint will fail first! Was it a Nissan part you replaced it with?

Ah that's good to know. I will swap the faces when the new one arrives Hopefully that will fix it!
-
Do you think the faceplate could likely be at fault? There is nothing usually plugged into the front of it, just a cable running out the back of the main box to the slave socket into which the internet is connected to, which is working fine. It does momentarily stop when i remove the faceplate then start up again once i refit it. edit - Just ordered a new faceplate and tool so will give that a try next.
-
I havent as I only have one, but as I can make it work several times in the test point, and not once in any other socket, i'm guessing it's unlikely to be the phone. Although to rule this out completely I will try to borrow one and perform all the checks again.
-
Thanks for the suggestions I've tested the phone, and that works in the test point on the master socket. Phone does not work in the normal socket on main, or in the slave socket. Internet is at the end of an extension cord plugged into the slave socket working fine

Hi people, I have tried looking at the BT troubleshooting site but still a bit stumped, so thought i'd throw this out there! Any help or ideas would be appreciated. My landline phone has stopped working, but my internet is still working. It is BT Infinity which is fibre optic, but nothing has been altered inside the house with regards to this so i imagine it would use the standard phone line until it is outside the house at least. If i take the cover plate off at the main point, the phone works at the test connection behind the plate (so BT's line and my phone itself must be working). However when I plug the phone into the main socket at the same point on the front of the faceplate, it doesn't work. So I imagine a possible fault could be the small faceplate i unscrewed to access the test point right? At a quick glace the wires look alright, but will double check in a bit. Is there anything else I could test or check? Thanks!

Ok cheers for the replies, I will look into it

Afternoon all, I've got some light scratching on the windscreen, anyone know of any good tips on ways to remove them? They are very slight, if they were on paintwork you could easily polish them out sort-of-deep. Rest of the windscreen is fine, no chips or cracks so would rather not replace it. It's not a major issue, just something i would like to sort out if easily done! Thanks

I got this package today. I'm not a massive serious gamer or anything so thought I'd give The Order a try. Visually it looks amazing (I didn't think the graphics would be this good yet). Only spent an hour on it so far, it feels like you are playing a film. I quite like it, I haven't played The Last Of Us yet. Can't wait for Project Cars to be released (the main reason I bought the ps4!)
