  1. I've just moved over from an S2000 to 350z and desirabilty are comparable but how they both deliver power are completely different and you really do have to adjust your driving style from one to the other.

S2000 feels very lethargic prior to VTEC but when you hit it, it just signs! Whereas the 350z has plenty of low end grunt and you can end up being lazy with the gears!

CTR's iVTEC I find a bit better to live with on a day to day basis (I used to have one prior to S2K) as there is more useable low end torque.

I think my preference is I need something more easier to live with on a day to day basis. Whilst I dont use it for work the 350z fit the bill for me

  2. My Driver window sometimes has an odd behaviour wherby if you use the auto wind up function, the windows goes all the way to the top and then comes back down partially on its own as if it has detected a hand there. It doesn't always happens as it does behave most of the time but nevertheless if happens. Does anyone know how to cure this??

Also sometimes when you are going at high speed (motorway speed to be precise) you can sometime hear wind noise from the driver winow as well. I've done search on these topics but maybe the criteria did not yield the answers I'm quite looking for. Anyone know fix for this??

    Cheers

    Martin

  3. Thread resurrection!!

I have this problem I believe and it sounds like I have crickets in the boot!

Very annoying and I've yet to pin down the root of the problem!

If I thump the top corner of the boot on the outside you can hear it make that squek noise. Any more ideas on this one chaps?

  4. Did you use much fuel mate? Just wondering as I have a trip to London soon and don't know whether to drive the car or tow it.

I manage to hit 35mpg doing around 68-70mph. Had a full tank when leaving the sellers and I clocked up over 300miles and still have just under quarter of a tank left. Cost me £60 to fill up (but it did have some fuel left in it)

So you do the maths.... is it cheaper for you to fill car up and motor down to Abbey and put some mileage on car or pay to get it down on low loader

Why you call breakdown assisantance and say you car is conked and the garage it needs to go to for repairs is Abbey!! Thats half the roudn trip sorted for you!!

lol that's good, I've got a van and trailer but I would really like to drive it down. Have you been out playing in it today?

LOL No weather not great down here and I was kept awake by the stupid tweeting birds. So I got up to do some errands and then passed out again!

  6. Well I am back home in bed now!!

Journey wasn't as tiring as I thought. Zed is definitely a comfort cruiser with some good bumpf behind it!!

If I take away all the loo/break visits I had, I complete my return home is sub 6hrs with no heavy foot action! :p

Not bad me thinks! Now time to pass out for a bit!

  7. I am having a coffee at my first service station stop off and I've barely made a dent on the mileage back home! :headhurt:

One the side note it was great to meet all you guys (and girl!) in the land of Scots! Zed initiation does not get any more welcoming than that!

Big thanks to Neil and Craig for inspecting the car and another shout for Craig karting me to my new Zed!

It was quite clean when I got to it! And to say I was gonna find my way to Kilsyth well...........jugding by today I could have some it up in 3 words if Craig didn't fetch me which was "Aint Gonna Happen"

Anyway, gonna finish off the coffee and continue with my long journey!

  8. A great result, well done to all involved and its nice to see a dealer who is prepared to help out a bit.

This may well be replicated again tomorrow with my potential purchase! And hopefully catch a few of you guys in the neck of the wood while the opportunity is there to say hello!

  9. I just have one which is going tomorrow  and getting the custard :yahoo: (part exchange) though it was so close to having nismo spoiler and gloss black wheels..

Need to get Mr Paulie's head round fitting stereo  - Neil he'll probably be in touch :bang:

LOL How strange Part exchaging a zed for a zed! Be a nice looooong drive back up for you!

That is what I may be dreading potentially tomorrow as I will be heading up to your neck of the woods to see a Zed tomorrow!

Giz - I picked my zed up a year ago yesterday from Southend in Essex - and drove her all the way back to Fife.

I can remember feeling a wee bit wary of my first experience in the RWD zed being a 500mile trip  but it was great fun :drive1

    NJOY!!

Just how long did a 500Mile trip take you??

The RWD is not an issue for me as my S2000 was RWD. I've just never driven for that kind of distance of period of time! Google worked it to be at least a 6.5 hr journey!

I think a plain set cost me about £23 delivered (this was over a year ago)
