yup its true, i also have contacts who have confirmed this. This weekend there is going to be a press conference about it. Basically the team was massivly divided about it all. Although typical England we will blame everyone for us never getting anywhere in the world cup!

again depends on what tyres you go for (much debate on here) but some can be £180 a tire plus fitting, balancing etc... Also according to peeps on here they last no where near as long as other tires i have experiance with - but again depends on how you drive etc.. but then again anything is better then a fiesta st! so hurry along and get it changed!

you have tried topping up the water right? As i know mine did the same thing, and i got all nervouse, couldnt hear anything etc, then topped up the water and it worked a charm, it just seems it needs a fair amount of water to work...

thick question possibly but how do you tell, i though wieghts were just weights...

all sorted belts needed a bit of tightening apparently

Hi All, As you know i had my car serviced just a few days ago. I drove it home after service and seemed to run even better which was great, in the service they changed both belts that were recommended by you guys. however i hadnt driven it since, apart from today when i started it up it made a really high pitched squealing almost like a belt rubbing.. So i turned it off and started it up again and it was fine... I guess my question is does it take a bit of time for belts to "bed in" or should i call the mechanic to get it checked out? Thanks as always in advance!

so guys just posted this on other thread but then realised its proberly worth posting here too incase people do a search, But i just heard back from the garage they have done the service, and said the plugs did not need to be changed as they looked pretty good and suspect they might have been done earlier but suggested getting them done next time. I do trust the garage, but i was wondering what people think about this? Should i get changed anyway as it says to do ever five years or should i wait until the next service?
-
I just heard back from the garage (expecting to have my plugs changed in my service) he said that they had a look at them and he thought they might have been changed earlier as they didnt need changing so recommened to me to wait to next service. What does everyone else think? Should i just ask them to change anyway? or go with his recomendation (he is trusted(has always done good work for me before))

£220 jesus + another £220 for plugs! i was quoted £80 to do the service oil change etc.. for spark plug change i am estimating another £100 for the plugs themselved (good quality ones recommened on here + costs of putting them in) But then again, not sure what "gold" service means...

also the bad news is (im not 100% sure this is always the case) but if a thief uses your keys to get into the car and drive it off then its not insured. I know this is definately the case if they dont break into teh house but rather manage to get them through your mail box or something...

Am interested to know how they can 'check' your gearbox oil Lol is that not possible then? maybe i miss heard him
-
Cool well called garage, they said they will have a look at everything recommended above, and keep me posted on what they recomend getting changed/ (because im doing such low millage whethere it is worth leaving for a bit then getting done in a few months time) They said spark will defo be more then likely worth doing and they replace like for like. Belts they said they will check and see if they think they need doing and keep me posted. Gearbox oil - they said they can check and recommend or not. Thank you all for the advice! as always very helpfull!
-
OK cool thanks for the heads up, so just for a comprhensive list i can give them to make sure they check it is: Swop out Spark plugs Oil change Brake fluid Serpentine and pas belts...? Then general checks as stated in guide as well as ask for gear box oil check, and other standard checks. Also what do you recon on cost? I was quoted about £80 for oil change and inspection but how much more should i be looking for spark plugs and changing break fluid and possibly sperpentine and pas belts? Just so i have a rough idea, and dont go in expecting it to be £120 but it being £300 after i ask for all this!

How bizzare defo says on my manual in small print top right to do at 5 years or "exspensive repairs may be nessasary" Shows my lack of knowlege and noob skills! But i do learn something new everyday! So sparks though are a yes?
-
So just looked in book and it recons that at 5 years which for mine will be sept you need to do cambelt and spark plugs... Now what do people recon?
-
Should be at least every 12 months or 9000 miles, whichever comes first! at 12 months i had only done about 2k miles, would have been completly pointless i would have thought. Also not like it hasnt been seen and looked after. And had it down for new tires etc they did a look over it about 12 months in. So not worried

ah that makes sense! i will look when i get home! Thanks P.S i agree it would bother me too much if it wasnt service at nissan when i bought...but it was a bonus...

Hi All, Tried looking online and on search but cant find anything (which is very suprising as though tthis would have been asked a million times!) so please point me in right direction if it has But i had my p3 service done before i bought the car about 1 year ago, i have only done about 4k miles in it, but i thought for the sake of keeping the log book up to date i would get it done (its now been about 1 year and 3 months) I wasnt going to take it to a stealler but to a local garage who i know and trust, however was wanting to know what is involved in a p1 service (45k miles) Also another quick question is the car has always been done at Nissan stealers but im wondering am i going to devalue the car by getting it done at a local garage...from past experiance i have always done at a stealer but with my last car i dont think it actually made a difference at all when i came to sell... Thoughts?

so gave the car a drive today, and problem wasnt there, can only assume i was being a spaz, or that there was something in the window making the finger trap thing active. maybe my hoodie or something...
-

10 mins even for a real novice? I remember someone said that on the smart forums about taking of a speaker grill and lets just saying it wasnt for a novice lol!

Pure Genious love the banter! Kind of sad the beta is going to end and we will have to start again but i guess we are getting a good grounding of how things work

HI All, Just a quick one, as it has been hotter more recently i have been opening my windows more (nothing better then having them open on a summers day drive!) Anyway my driver side window is auto and my passenger side isnt (which is normaly on my age of car) but today i noticed something wierd... When i went to auto shut my window, the window went up a cm or so then down again..i tried again and hold my finger on for a fraction longer and it worked fine. But only seems to if i do a proper "click hold for a split second" let go, rather then a click like i do for getting the window down... Now is that normal? I have never noticed before..(i dont think) anything i can adjust or try? Any thoughts?

oh yeah i actually met the guy and agency who came up with that whole strategy. although they said they stopped working on the project when it started to get out of hand, and the "whench" went from a bar wench to a semi naked model lol
