The inbuilt one in centrafuse, or you can use the centrafuse palmpilot emulator to run tomtom fairly easily (apparently...not actually tried) -
ah see for me i like the fact mine are full beep about 1/2 a foot away i wouldnt really like to get too much closer but you can alter that on mine by just using one sensor strip
-
im with you on that, most parts seem to be budget knock offs made on the cheap and sold for an extorionate amount (from a completely nooby point of view anyway - aka me) But then again im always massively suprised about how much stuff costs.
-
doh that sucks, maybe its a faulty one..

Cheers dude will keep you posted! Really just want peoples feedback too, as tbh not sure if theres lots of hidden problems to contend with. Just thought i would qualify this, my logic is that everyone should have fun on the rally hence entrants are happy, then the £1 being (a bit pathetic) but at least that would be money the charity wouldnt normally have had (obviously i would like for people to raise a hell of alot more)
-
Hi All, Just a thought really, there is a big push at my company to do more charity work this year, and a few people have already done some fairly small money raising events. I suddenly had a brainwave and thought about trying to arrange an industry rally I was looking around for a Uk based fun car rally and stumbled across the Britball run and then the run2wherever events (i already know about the Rickshaw rally, mini challenge etc..) but fancy an event where anyone can enter, as long as it is under a unified theme. In my case it would be the industry i work in. The Britball run looked alot more professional then the run2where ever but sadly is no longer going! I was wondering if anyone has tried to arrange anything like this and what sort of challenges they faced etc? And on a side note if people would be interested, in helping me arrange/ taking part. Literally just a feeler at the moment, but i have figured even if I only get 10 people attending and raise anything over £1 then it has been a success. At this stage my thoughts are running a 3 day 2 night trip around some of the best driving roads, locals in the UK with anyway entering in any car, however a few rules would need to be applied to make people fall under one unified banner.

So today tied up wires, and wired in a ground loop isolator, and its comepleted sorted all problems with the audio so it works a dream now. No hissing or alternator wine! Only things left to do, are properly calibrate touch screen (its slightly off), then buy wireless bluetooth mouse and keyboard combo so i can do maintainance easily. Finally wire in the gps dongle i have, and we are 100% sorted. Remember if anyone is interested in helping me fund my project by making you a carputer let me know, Neo -
Get yourself a car pc and lose that cubby

Hi Guys, Thanks for the comments, all looks really nice just about to upload video, so you can see it in action. I did just use the Bose tapedeck hack Tone, works a treat with ipod etc.. Only slight problem i have currently is, im getting a little bit of alternator whine and hiss when i use the hack in my car pc. Now im getting advice off a few members and elsewhere but by all accounts should be sortable fairly easily. (Finding a better ground, increaseing PC gains, and or getting a ground loop isolator seem to be advice i have found do far) Regards taking off panels etc, actually most are really easy i avoided taking off back panels and you dont actually need to just center console and front console and inside door panel thing that holds carpet down. -

HI All, Just another update, after a day or so of taking the car apart (very scary for a complete noob like me!) the Neo system is in! Below are some pics of the instal mid process, i still need to do a few more tiny things, tidy up the wiring in the rear glove box with cable ties, drill the small hole in the glove box floor to route wires etc.. Put back on the door footwell pannel etc. So far i am really chuffed havent had time to take it for a spin, and wont do until i can properly mount the pc in the cubby with strong velcro to stop it slipping around. anyway have a sneak peak! I will make a guide and upload some more pics and a vid when its all done. Any questions fire them over! Ideally i am trying to raise some cash to help pay for my build (bit broke at the mo) so if any one is interested let me know. -
well there are only a couple of us that play on it. its hosted on my gaming computer and on a crappy home network so it lags when my housemate watches videos i turn it on when i get in from work and it goes off at about 3am if at all, generally stays on for the weekend. the IP sometimes rotates but thats normally only when i turn it back on. i keep the guys up to date on a running facebook group message. seems to work. If you fancy a game and are the non destructive type and respect other peoples stuff then no problem. this is currently what we are playing on (well it doesnt look like that now after someone got artistic with the island on the left and obviously it looks far better now with the new lighting and an HD texture pack. dude i would be dead interested in playing as of yet i havent played any of the mult, but my own world is pretty ace. PM me your server IP if you get a chance
-
ah you run a server, is it open to others to play
-

Whats your right hand doing? When your scratching the vinyl with the left. I remember seeing teh scratch perverts a while back at Fabric, and 2 Many Djs doing a one beat mix there aswell always very impressive. -
lol im sure mine has a top speed of 180mph! i will have to check later! mines faster then yours
-
lol for some reason i thought it was you signing it off i think, and didnt see it as a link. All in all either way its clearly not safe to use them anymore, so i was completely wrong, i thought no one had actually been done for it. (And missleadingly when i just checked the various sellers of these bits of kits sites they dont make it clear)
-
Ah appologies i didnt see your link! And after reading it i take it all back, the links i had seen were basically saying people had been taken threatened and when they were about to go to court it was all dropped (and thrown out of court/ never got there) as the police were using the law in a way it was not meant to be used.
-
Interesting, do you know this as fact? or is this what you have heard. As everywhere i have read basically says they try to scare you but as soon as you start to put up a fight then it all goes away. As "perverting the course of justice" is not meant to be used on such menial things like this, and by all accounts cant just be used on its own. But as i have said i am by no means knowledgble on this, I only know what i have read.

Yeah tbh an SSD for a carputer is a bit extreme imho but then again if you have the money why no (For boot up speed i completely understand) Alot of people say that hdds can die in carputer use but from my research if you mount the hdd sideways and be sure to use a laptop 2.5" drive you are pretty safe. But that said i think its luck of the game, some peeps seem to have bits and pieces die on them quite quick others go the entire ownership of the car and never have a part fail
