  1. Woah! really? I've seen the ad in several different place as well. I'll ring them to confirm that then. Thanks for the heads up Waitey
  2. Hmmmmmmmmmm, well thanks for the thread tip, i 'll have a look, insist on a drive and if all looks good might get an AA check done. They sound like a-holes there but if i were to buy it i would probably never see them again as i live on the south coast. Cheers mate, i'll keep you updated.
  3. Carefull! you do realise there is a traveller camp in your area
  4. I'm travelling t'north in a couple of days to visit Kats rellies in Middlesborough and thought id check out this Z in Sunderland, now that our insurance check has come through at last. Seems pretty cheap. Has any one had any dealings with Evans Halshaw in Sunderland? are they good guys? http://www.evanshalshaw.com/vehiclesear ... 04lae.html
  5. My mate Rog518 just did his. I did mine 25 years ago when you just had to roll the bike off the centre stand to pass
  6. sounds like you were 'dringing' when you posted this!
  7. It's good to get these things out in the open, no shame on this forum!
  8. I am not a gamer, generally prefer real life, but might have to get one of these PS3 thingies just for the Nordshliefe sim. I was just lost really on my 1st visit to the 'ring, on the bike, didn't make the most of it. It would be great to get some worthwhile practice before i go again (maybe in the new Z when we get it!).
  9. I have one from my '04, reasonable condition (43,000 miles), no holes. PM me if your interested. Simon
  10. I loved my Scorpion, only loud when you hit the loud pedal! but it took a little bit of jigging around to make it sit level and symetrical, only a case of bunging in a few spacers/washers, nothing too serious.
  11. Your joking Chris - - Nick (biker) was toying with the RX but having said that how the hell do you measure that sort or pairing Some great camera work and the use of RC model was a neat touch. Yeah the little R/C dude sure kept up well with some serious machinery.
  12. Bikes RULE!!!! i loved my Z but the bike still makes me do a sex wee everytime i nail it! Done a few drifts by accident on the R1, certainly wakes one up a bit
  13. Hi Ben, and welcome. I come from a biking background too and the Z is the only car i've driven that gives me the same smile on my face as a quick bike. Hope you enjoy yours

    at last

Finally the insurance have made a decent offer. i crashed the car back at the begining of November, about a month ago they sent a check for £7400 (car value £8000 minus £600 excess) obviously this was some kind of joke! Our car was an '04 UK GT 43,000m very clean. I sent them a wad of ads for similar cars to ours with average price of about £9500.....as i said, that was a month ago! must be very busy after all the snow based fun people have been having recently. Well, first thing this morning they rang to say, based on the ads i sent, they were prepared to accept it will cost £9000 to replace the car, i said i still think £9500 minimum. They said 'you never pay the advertised price though' which is true i suppose. But i argued anyway ,the guy said 'OK, i'll meet you halfway- £9250' which i suppose is acceptable. They will still take off the £600 excess though, gits. Anyway, its good to be able to start shopping again, i've missed the car sooooooo much. So if any of you guys spot a good one, in Sunset, for around £9500 or less, give me a heads up please. It's a bummer really 'cos id just fitted a Scorpian exhaust a few weeks before the crash, but, i was looking for new wheels as well so i could have destroyed those too if id found some i liked before the crash!
  15. Kat got me tickets to see Roxy Music in Newcastle in January one of my fav bands ever! I havnt been to the Toon since i was a kid so im looking forward to that, can anyone recommend good bars restaraunts around the Quayside (staying in Premier Inn thing there). Mind you i think its the least she could get me as i got her a couple of pairs of Christian Labouton shoes (£££££££££££££)
  16. yeah my mate keeps going on about gap insurance, never really considered it though.....maybe i should have! i need to get about £9500 i think.
  17. Hi Matt, i'm in the same boat mate, mine was written off about a month ago. Insurance have sent a settlement cheque that made me laugh! so i sent a load of links to ads showing what it would really cost to replace it, just waiting now. Missing it badly though.
  18. I'm gutted to say they have declared the car uneconomical to repair Apparently the price had got up to £6000 for repairs!!! obviously using Nissan dealer prices, i guess. They explained that the boot floor was creased and the roof damaged...i went down there to remove my bluetooth, and it just didn't look £6k bad, the boot floor looked straight and i couldn't see any damage at all to the roof. The guy who took me down to view it agreed with me, and he works there! We will have to hope the insurance company dont take the pee with their offer, i think i will need £9k to £10k to buy an equivilent car. So if they offer less there may be a long 'discussion' happening. I've put our private plate on retention as it would dissappear when the car is taken from our ownership, over £100 that cost! But....it's all my own fault so i can't whinge too much, just hope someone else learns from my pain! I'll keep you updated...
  19. it makes me feel a bit better hearing that quite a few of you guys have done something similar. I'll hopefully find out today what the body shop says...just praying its not a write off...I'll keep you posted
  20. Well.....funny you should say that! i'd not long put some Maxxis tyres on the rear as a cheap stop gap until we decided what wheels we wanted to go for. But before you laugh, compared to my worn Potenzas, they were really good. Seriously. Loads more grip. But maybe the recent drop in temperature made a difference, maybe they operate really well but in a narrower temp. zone. Who knows.
  21. Some airlines offer a service where they bungee your car under the fusilage and fly you both to your destination...you have to be ready for landing though, engine started, accelerate up to touch down speed for a nice smooth transition from flying to driving
  22. You are so right! you think id know better being a lifelong biker too, found plenty of nasty slipperry patches on roundabouts on the bike
