  1. it's much better when the undergrowth has been cleared (ooer!)
  2. Oh man that must have been painful!! Did you get them sorted or you just learned to live with them? Were they just standard leaves and twigs or thorn bushes? T-Cut is a wonderful thing! Standard OEM leaves and twigs i think mate, no special edition thorns etc
  3. Yeah i'd always trusted it, normally just a tiny twitch then it would all be under control. But this time it was spinning up long enough for plenty of drama, so yes, i did wonder if it was faulty.
  4. Tried your quick method for the other side and managed it ok, thanks.
  5. very strong possibility mate, i took my old Celica to Cornwall one year and the bushes in the narrow lanes scratched it to death!
  6. Bought my '04 GT sunset with 35K miles 3 weeks ago for £9k so about right with price. I think your pics are pretty good actually, better than the usual 'on the drive squeezed behind the second car' ones most people try and sell a £10k car with!
  7. It was a nightmare mate, my fault though, i nailed it exiting a bend onto a straight near me (T/C was on by the way) back end came out, i countersteered, it went out the other way and twatted a big bush lurking at the side of the road i didnt even feel an impact. i got out just to make sure i hadn't got a puncture and found the rear bumper hanging off and a dinged rear off side panel. to cut the story short it was declared a write off (unbelievably) and i just got my replacement car a couple of weeks ago. So, i'm being a bit careful at the moment I was just thankful nobody got hurt.........makes you think. Sorry, didn't mean to bring the thread down guys!!
  8. Yes gravity seems to put on a bit of spurt when any thing small is in your hand (ooer!). Yes im lovin' the wheels, the theory is it should be harder wearing but im gonna be so carefull with them, never had perfect wheels before
  9. I can see that now i suppose, but i've never seen what was behind there before and didn't want to damge anything (my usual trick!). Might try the other side tomorrow, thanks.
  10. I decided to change my yellowy coloured side light bulbs for some nice blue/white ones from fleabay. My giddy aunt! i can't believe what a kerfuffle it is to access the back of the headlight...jack car; remove wheel; remove plastic fastners in the arch; undo rusty bolts under the bumper; pull out plastics. Took a numpty like me about an hour to do one side and i was covered in soaking wet filth when i'd done it. I think i'll leave the other side until i fit the spacers i will hopefully get soon. I just can't understand why they didn't fit a little access hatch in the arch plastics, it would be a 1 minute job then, i'm sure that would add all of £1 to the cost of a new car! Sorry, rant over.
  11. Dont fancy this for your next mod then Si!!!! Welcome aboard Dan nice zed Do you have uprated discs on there too? I was thinking my next mod might be a few bags of cement in the boot after last years adventure!
  12. On my first ever lap a Suzuki Swift kicked my arse good and proper , and i was on my R1 (160 hp/ 200kg wet) and i'm by no means a slow rider on the roads. TRACK KNOWLEDGE IS EVERYTHING!
  13. Welcome fella. I bet stripping out the boot space really helps with rear wheel traction
  14. It's very scarey for first timers with zero track knowledge when quick guys blow past you doing nearly twice your speed. You try to keep to the right and indicate right when they come up behind you but sometimes you see them in your R/H mirror and your not sure if they dont give a sh*t about the normal conventions of 'ring use, and are gonna take you on that side (some do this), so sometimes you hesitate about moving over! . I know its frustrating when a noob is holding you up but we all have to start somewhere.
  15. nice....got a bit frantic from about 6:30 onwards didn't it! Brings back 'ring memories though.....of being passed by loons
  16. Deffo interested at that price mate, also like the dip for reverse idea
  17. it is the original cap but they painted that too. the colour is actually a fair bit darker than standard and much more metalic looking, looks very classy in real life.
  18. Had our Rays refurbished yesterday as they were a bit curbed (only had the car 2 weeks so it wasn't us!) and we are well pleased with the result they were powdercoated gunmetal then the face blown over a couple of times with a silver paint, then lacqured. What do you think?
  19. Hi all, i have a spare bluetooth cradle thingy that plugs in to the centre cubby and a Nokia adapter that sits in it. I want to put them up for sale on here but have no idea how much to ask for. I cant find any other ones for sale. can you guys give me some idea, cheers.
  20. Just went past my Texaco 5 mins ago and the queue was literally out the forecourt and up the road, i wondered what the hell was going on! Now i know mmmmmmmm love the smell of forecourt flowers
  21. Need one of the above for my '04 GT, as the old one is on its last legs. Tried the traders and breaker searches and the prices they quote are shocking just wondered if anyone had one laying around...for a fair price
  22. We recently stayed in the St Denys B&B in an lovely old building right in the centre of York, it was really nice with friendly staff and a private carpark. It only cost £45 for a double inc breakfast
  23. Yes!! will accept cash or bankers draught
  24. Yeah I do ride, have done for about 8 years since i was 17. not riding much at the minute but going to sort the bike out very soon. Currently on an Africa twin though, bit different to an R1. I had an R6 a while back but now prefer adventure styled bikes and touring. The zed is my first proper car as well, haven't killed it yet but I'm quite slow and cautious to be honest only got it a few months back so weathers been a bit rubbish too, not really had chance to drive it much. Thats strange, 'cos im gonna sell the R1 to get an Aprilia Caponord 'cos were gonna have a 3 week tour of europe this summer. Weathers been poo lately anyway hasn't it, lol.
