Ricky You were pipped by a PM from planetsurfer2 at 11:27 - so I'm afraid it's his (subject to receiving the cash) Try eBay.com as they had a couple of others when I bought my 2 a couple of weeks ago Cheers Ian

Sold to planetsurfer2 - Mods, please lock this now. (Looking down the list of posts, it shows how useful it is to post on the thread as well as sending the PM :- because the 1st buyer didn't post straight away, it's easy to see how the 2nd thought he was in pole position. Anyway - sold now) After reading a few posts about CG-Locks in this and other forums, I was interested - however, at £49.99 each I thought buying direct was too expensive - so I bought two from eBay in the USA as a package. I've fitted one and absolutely love it, it really keeps you tight into the seat and I can see why everyone raves about them, but I'm not going to fit the other as I don't drive in a spirited fashion with my gf or any other passenger - so I have one to spare, and can sell it for £35 plus the postage as I only paid $70 plus $20 shipping for the pair! I thought I'd give forum members first dibs - if nobody is interested I'll try and sell it on eBay UK. Apparently Ben Collins ("Stig") is an advocate - See their websites: http://www.cg-lock.co.uk/ http://www.cg-lock.com/

I was given a wall mounted Hozelock reel as a birthday present about 8 years ago - and it's absolutely great. Ready whenever you want it, none of this messing about rummaging in the shed - pull the nozzle to where you need it, turn the water on (It's best if you have an outside tap, put a hozelock connector on that) and away you go. It's come with me when I moved about 6 years ago, and I'd hate to be without it, now. It may seem a tad expensive, but the convenience of washing the car whenever you need with no hassle - worth every penny. Linky for amazon shop: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hozelock-40-Wal ... 364&sr=8-1

If you have the time and can travel - get up into the Napa valley or Sonoma valley, it's nicer than being on the coast and you don't get fogged in as badly. Main attractions are the wineries (don't know why they don't call them vineyards) but some of the Merlot wines are just stupendous. (In my opinion they're much nicer than French wines, they're really big on the palate) There are also some nice wooded areas, and the Redwoods are just . . . well . . . majestic. It's a hackneyed phrase, but walk up and touch a tree that's several hundred years old and goes Waaay up, it'll stir the atoms in your soul.

Oulton Park March 2nd. More free places!
ianphampton replied to Steve H's topic in Motorsport & Track Days
Definitely, I'll need some training before venturing out. Can I book that now, or just on the day? There was an option of "Reserve a Garage" on the website - I passed over it, but is it a good idea to reserve a garage? -
Oulton Park March 2nd. More free places!
ianphampton replied to Steve H's topic in Motorsport & Track Days
I have booked a place on this one for 2nd March! It will be my first trackday so am looking forward to it with a mixture of anticipation and butterflies . . . I've had 3 laps of Silverstone in an Aston but the prospect of driving my own Zed is going to be just Sooooo much better! All we need now is for someone to book some decent weather - unfortunately I don't have any pull or influence with the Guy upstairs. ( ! ) -
I don't know - you'll have to ask him

I'm running on BC Racing coilovers, and if you only drop her about 15 - 18mm you can get away without changing the camber arms. However, you will then need coilover extensions as the BC natural position is 30mm drop (I think, you will need someone else to give better info) but as the extensions are simple tubular spacers they're quite a bit cheaper than new camber arms (Abbey Motorsport did mine and that's what we came up with) (Abbey can supply and fit as I think they're agents for BC) Just out of interest - even lowering her only this 18mm - you do know that you have to be careful on all speedbumps, don't you! This was the main reason why I only dropped her 18mm and even at this you have to be really careful. If you drop the full 25 mm or more - well, just be aware of it, that's all. edit and added this afterwards - By the way - I have her slightly crisper now, and really like the feel, and you can adjust the suspension so simply to suit normal driving, taking your granny out or trackday firm, it's great to have that degree of control

I have a spare plenum - started to polish it and it's only about 25% done - it's been sitting in my gf's garage for 6 months. I'll dig it out and post a photo but I'm not going to be there until Saturday, now

PM to "Rothers" - he used to have one but I think he took it off a couple of months ago so he may still have his old one

Not so much on the confusion, but because you have different sizes front/rear they enter it as 2 orders - their system can't handle different tyres on a single order. (Mine came as 2 orders, the 225 and 235 separately) I thought they were based in London and I think it's owned by Asians - maybe you got someone with less command of English. When I bought my winter tyres they were extremely efficient and jolly helpful, so maybe if you phone again you could ask for a supervisor and get better info

Not sure how many others want models of their 350Z - I have to admit to having 2, one at 1:24 and this one at 1:43 (They're in the display case - when my wife & I split, she took most of the crystal, so I put my cars in it!) Yes I know i'm a child at heart, so that's nothing new, and I'm officially very sad, too. . . but hey, I hold my head high when admitting that However, I'd not found one of these in this country and I bought one from Australia - and now it's come up again, so I thought I'd share this with the rest of the forum. It takes a while as it's coming from a long way away - but if you have a roadster, and if it's sunset oragnge - this is about as good as it gets, as it's even RH drive. . . . http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-Fairla ... 336f4dd640

Just outside Northwich about a year ago I went through a load of s_ _t on the road outside a cows field and that took a month to burn off, no amount of scrubbing seemed to shift it . . . . . it was baked on the junction of the Y pipe

Mark spotted this dealer on eBay, don't know if he could help you out http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-xtrail ... 3a6cd8ea7c What happened - somebody too close go into your tail end?

I also ordered a set of Nankangs from Mytyres.co.uk - ordered on 22nd November, arrived on 25th. They didn't have any 235/50 profile left, so had to get 225/45 and 235/45. Upside of this is that set of 4 for the JDM 17 wheels was only £330 - then local guy charged me £10 each to fit so all in all, very cost effective. (So then I went wild and spent an extra £1 each on Nitrogen!) Downside of the 45 profiles is that these are obviously slightly smaller so my speedo now reads a bit higher (though I double check speeds on the SatNav) I'm now actually looking forward to some snow to try them out in - they seem perfectly OK in the wet and cold, though I'm driving fairly conservatively so far. I was planning a proper review once I'd had some snow experience on them, so more to come on this topic!

Lower Gears being limited refers to the Nissan default where the throttle will only give: 55% max power in 1st 65% max in 2nd and 75% max in 3rd So your pedal at 100% to the floor will still only give 55% power in 1st Apparently Nissan limited the power through the lower gears to reduce the wheelspin risk. When you have an Uprev these limits are removed, so you can get full power. I tend not to go nuts in 1st, but the extra power in 2nd is noticeable and you'll come off a roundabout much more sharply and as you straighten up and then give her the beans she just loves kicking you in the lumbar region and lifting her nose . . . . The full power in 3rd is even more useful, and I think it's safer, too, as it improves overtaking so you're in the other lane for a shorter time Of course, the TCS will still kick in to stop you spinning wheels (unless you turn it off) I do turn mine off in fine weather and it's surprising how much grip you have, so in the dry it's good fun. This time of year, though, I leave the TCS alone (or you'll come off that roundabout sideways or backwards!)

Note - I think this intake pipe is a JDM version as it has the extra (blind) bit stuck on the side I don't think this does anything, so will fit OK - just thought you should know

Carbon Fibre Engine cover - you could try Skyhigh inc - they have an eBay shop as mywholesalegarage on eBay (make sure you look on eBay.com as it's in the USA) - I paid $75 plus $45 postage from them in June this year For the spats, I think Tarmac has them - PM him and he'll give you all the info

The rasp comes when you fit Berks HFCs . . . .

If you have a UK car you could try bartontownley@hotmail.com as I bought one from him in June this year. Getting it logged in to the car is a bit tricky - there's a "How to" guide on here but it's one of those where you have to pat your head and rub your tummy at the same time as turn the key on for 5 sec off for 3 sec and so on. If you take it to your local Stealer ( ) they'll charge you an hour for it - but I'd say that was worth it for the aggro saved. If your car is a JDM then basically you're screwed unless you spend £399 - see my experiences on viewtopic.php?f=31&t=52690 Good Luck - if you find a way of getting a JDM key from Japan (I'm hoping you're married to a Japanes girl, here!) do please let me know how you fixed it. (The key, not the Japanese wife)

Gordon Good Luck with the Lotus! My brother had an Esprit turbo many years ago and absolutely loved it, with 2 notable exceptions: 1) The servicing costs can be pretty high - especially if you use a main dealer. There are lots of comments on here about dealer servicing - Nissan dealers pale to nought compared to Lotus dealers and 2) It nearly killed him. Mind you, that was mostly his fault - he can't remember the accident but at the end of it the telegraph pole was cut off about 3 ft from the ground and the car was in very small pieces. He thinks he was driving "pretty vigorously" but can't really remember! Anyway, after 2) when he got the insurance money, he didn't buy another one, mainly because of 1) - but he says he still misses it occasionally. It was such a drivers car, responsive, and an absolute joy. Good Luck, anyway!

I've got a Japspeed system, Y pipe back into a K2 backbox. The fitting wasn't too bad, but you really need to do it on a lift so you can get right under and make adjustments - we took the backbox off halfway through my fitting to get more leverage on the hangers and then refitted it. It took about half an hour, that's all, with 2 guys from my local garage and me. The sound is good, and I find I can cruise on the motorway at 3000 - 3500 and still hold normal conversations and listen to music as it's not intrusive at cruising rpm. Of course, accelerating and 4500 rpm plus gives you a very satisfactory howl . . . In terms of cost, it's a budget system, but a little extra time in the fitting and you'll be able to get it to fit OK - the exhaust itself is made from 304 stainless so it's not going to rust and if you can make the adjustments yourself and offset that against the fact that Milltek is pretty well double the price. . . . .

Greido - that's dreadful news? What are you trading it in for - a new 370? Your other set of 17" JDM wheels is now running on my roadster with Snow SV-2's on them
