Uneven caster can cause the car to pull as well. That can be caused by knackered compression arm bush / bushes. We'd be happy to take a look at the car - we've got comp arm bushes in stock, if required, and have a full 4-wheel laser alignment setup. We are about an hour away from Buckingham.

Ohlins suspension for 350Z and 370Z
Jez @ H-Dev replied to Jez @ H-Dev's topic in Horsham Developments
A lot of manufactures offer both setups. I expect Ohlins went with the separate rear spring as the chassis isn't designed to take the weight of the car at the top of the damper. Although having said that, I've got coilovers at the rear and there doesn't seem to be a problem - and there definitely won't be when the cage is finished. Cheers for the order - they are leaving us today -

We're focused on providing you with the best track and road parts for your 350 and 370Z. As part of this we have recently become an Ohlins Road and Track coilover re-seller. These coilovers are the best you can get for a fast road / track car. They feature Ohlins new DVF valving system that promises to soak the smaller bumps on the road as well as provide excellent performance on track. The prices you've been given for Thruxton are very expensive compared to what you can get with other companies. I've been on one of Daves trackdays and they're very well run. As a beginner I'd recommend an airfield day - theres usually nothing to hit and most organisers have instructors to help you out. It can be a little overwhelming the first time you go out, but after some practice it'll become more and more fun. As far as getting the car ready - make sure the engine has the correct oil and coolant level. One of the most important things is to make sure that you have a good brake setup. I'd recommend some uprated pads and high boiling point fluid as a minimum - this will become more inportant as your confidence builds and you brake harder. I can pretty much guarantee that once you get the trackday bug, you won't be able to stop yourself - they're really good fun.

We've had to use a bearing puller in the past - they can get seriously stuck on.

I've got a dewalt impact gun - really good bit of kit. But again a few hundred quid.
-
That must have been horrific - he's lucky to tell the tale.
-
Got the car on the trailer - off to our cage fabricators tomorrow to get a full weld in cage fitted and booked in at the local body shop to get it all sprayed up afterwards. Looking forward to getting it on track now
-
I wouldn't recommend it - although they're fairly tough they will get scratched up. This is why they offer the slider option.
-
Yes, thats the optional part.
-
Best price they can do on the door windows and rear is £299+vat - that with plain door windows with no sliders. Lead time is currently 3 weeks - I'm not really ready to order at the moment - would people be interested at that price? Shipping will be around £35+vat.
-
Hopefully We're down from 1471kg to 1290kg now, weighed it today - thats without seats, dash and cage fitted though. We'll be removing the door window motors, rear wiper motor, the heater matrix and air con matrix along with the air con radiator and compressor - so that'll help too
-
Most rules are, ummm, flexible. If it gets to the point where I can't get an MOT then I'll just trailer it to events. I've not studied the new rules, but I'll be going to see a mate who is an MOT tester and see what he says. Hopefully it'll just be a case of getting the lights to do the right thing, if not then it'll be a track only car
-
Got the seats mounted: And striped some more interior: Its booked in for cage fitting next week
-
I'm not sure how much weight would be saved - I can get the weight of the new windows, but I'm not sure how much the standard windows weigh. Would people want sliding openers in the front windows? Both, drivers or none? They'll add around £42 per window. They'll be fairly scratch resistant, but I definitely wouldn't recommend them for a daily drive car and they will probably not be water tight. I wouldn't recommend using them with the electric window motors - if you want them to open you'll need to get the sliding openings.
-
Mines not ready either, so can leave it open for a while to see if we can get anyone else on board
-
I'm not sure if I'd go for the rear quarters either - seems like a lot of hassle for minimal gain. I'll get a price for 3 kits without the rear quarters and we can go from there. Just got to twist Keysers arm now
-
I've just found out that the company has two web sites with different prices: http://lexan-windows.com/index.php/cata ... lt/?q=350z http://www.plastics4performance.com/Lex ... 8-610-427/ The 2nd site has them up for £444 (£370+vat) and the other site has them for £461.70. The thickness is 4mm - there are other options too. Tinted lexan, window sliders etc. I'd imagine if we can get 2 people (3 including myself) I should be able to get us a discount.
-
Would any one be interested in Lexan / polycarbonate windows for their 350 or 370z? I'm in talks with a company that produce motorsport window sets for people wanting to save weight over the heavy standard glass. I'm probably going to get a set for our track 350. Retail prices are: Rear window: £210 Door windows: £84 each Rear quater windows: £54 each Complete set: £461.70 Prices inc VAT but not delivery If I can get a few people interested I might be able to get a group discount

The best value after market option is a Scorpion y-pipe back system. http://www.h-dev.co.uk/product_info.php ... s_id=25420 Or get a decent used OEM rear section, although its a very common failure point so it'd probably just happen again. Welding it up might fix it in the short term but often the surrounding pipe work is so rusty it's not worth the hassle.
