  1. Why am I always away when good things happen......Don't get back till the 9th.
  2. I'd have a read about. When I had my Supra I remember reading an article about after market filters and out of the ones tested, the HKS mushroom came out last in the filtration test- i.e there was a lot of stuff getting through it into the engine. Just something to bare in mind.

    My Supra

Gutted for you Ian. But.....every cloud and all that. Should be awesome if all goes to plan.
  4. Hi and welcome to the club. Personally I would want to know what the error codes were before taking the plunge. It could be nothing, it could be something. If it drove ok, then its probably nothing ....but still... A poorly battery can do some strange things on the Zed including random dash lights but could also be a lot of other things. Does it have standard CATs in or HFC or decats?
  5. Is your clutch worn? Or are you changing it because you want a lightweight flywheel? The reason I ask, is because the stock clutch/fly is fine for most applications including a supercharger until it needs replacing. My car has done over 30k miles FI on the OEM clutch and fly 20k of which with over 400 bhp without issue including a few track days. However, I have not been on a drag strip though. Don't get me wrong, I will change to a lightened flywheel and uprated clutch when the time comes, but just letting you know it's not mandatory.
  6. I would be tempted to try a thicker, better quality oil first. Fuchs titan pro s for example, but thicker than the OEM recommendation. Maybe try a 10w - 40 or even a 15w 50. If it's the stem seals they can be replaced easy enough, but rings and seals would be another story. Good luck.
  7. As above, possible that your new oil could be too thin if the smoke only happened since the oil change.
  8. Was the oil level ok before the oil change? Whats the engine mileage?
  9. Although decatted now, my kinetix hfc used to pass fine as well.
  10. Won't be me but...was that Yarmouth? Norwich? Peterborough ? Leicester? A47 is 135 miles long
  11. Hi and welcome to the club. Go to the introductions and welcome section and introduce yourself there. There are also guides on what to look for when buying, different specs etc in the various sections on the forum such as guides. These questions have been asked many times.
  12. Car is looking sweet and your obviously happy with the way it goes! Just a heads up regarding your oil cooler mount - They can be prone to splitting if supported just from the top due to movement/vibrations. Something as simple as some threaded bar and lock nuts between the top and bottom brackets is enough to support it. Here's mine as an example -
  13. I'm using fuel/oil line hose without issue.
  14. Sounds like you had a lucky escape. A lot of people here have a rear view, or reversing camera. The majority are mounted in the rear bumper itself or in the towing eye cover if you don't want drill the bumper. These give quite a good rear view. There are also cameras available that replace one of the rear numberplate lights for an OEM look, but I'm not sure the angle would be right for a true rear view as most of them point more towards the road for reversing. There are a few threads on here about it. Rear view cam, or reversing cam in the search should bring them up.
  15. Sad news. I'm another big fan of his work. The world will be less funny without him.
  16. Absolutely awesome! Well done bizz. Love the over run on the Dyno vid , lots of pops and bangs. Will have to hear it in the flesh one day.
  17. have the seat all the way back because of my proportions, long legs and arms, short body. Pete
  18. My money is on brake fluid low. Check your brake fluid level. If it is not on max, fill it up until it is, they don't like being anywhere below max.
  19. All front wheel drive so far! FR for the win lol. Mine was a '73 mk3 Cortina GXL . Started life as a 1.6L 4 speed ....but soon had a 2.0L pinto and 5 speed box out of a Sierra, twin choke webber carb with the secondary choke milled out and re-jetted and fast road cams. It was a lot of fun! Obviously being 17 and not very flush meant cheap mods from the breakers. I took an angle grinder to the springs, cutting them in half so running on the bump stops. lol, spax adjustable shocks from a mk2 escort that were so short that if going over a hump back bridge or flyover they would reach full travel and the rear wheels would leave the road. The car was so low at one point that the propshaft flange wore a hole through the transmission tunnel! Lots of other DIY mods, wheels, interior etc...............I bloody loved that car. Had it 4 years, but needed to sell it for something more reliable when I joined the RAF and had to travel long distance regularly. I have recently been told by an old friend that he's seen it under a cover in Leigh on sea.
  20. Sounds like you have an issue somewhere else in the system to wear out 2 clutches that quick. Far to quick.... Unless your on the strip.
  21. Looks lovely Chris. I do like these quite a lot but would need an FI one. Be interested to here what you think of it with the extra power.
