Me likie - slightly different shades depending on angle.
Cheers, I wasn't keen on the idea at first but definitely grown on me.
The pics do not do the rims justice, when the sun sits on them they look great
mine are the same ................ better to do some pics when the car is clean and the sun is shining (if it ever does again)
What do you think about the Brembos ? ....... needs a different colour with GM IMO
Yea I know what you mean, when they're clean and the light hits them the finish is great!
I know what you mean, not really sure what colour to go for. Depends on the theme of the car I suppose. Maybe black? I think I would like to see pics.

Cheers I think I need to get rid of the tanabe springs and bang on some coilovers once the spacers are on.

Got the zed back from myalloys in basingstoke this afternoon. Basically I had them done in 'shadow chrome'. Its all done in the same paint but with less put on the lip to give the desired effect. I don't think anybody has done this to their rays yet. Myalloys did a cracking job and very pleased with the service!
Car is lowered and spacers are currently being shipped. Sorry for the crap phone photos but its all I had time to do before it went dark. car is filthy aswell so once the 30mm spacers are on and its clean I'll do a proper thread.

Getting them done at myalloys in basingstoke. Usually get them done at top marques in stoke-on-trent for £200 (and they do a really good job) but don't frequent the area much anymore.
They didn't want to do two colours so its a shadow chrome with less paint on the lip to give the effect of a silver lip. but the sides of the spokes look black from different angles. very hard to explain and hopefully pics should show it up!
Price came to £300 all in. Thats drive in drive out with centercaps and balancing etc. I'm confident in their work but the Rays cost me £300, the powdercoating was £300 and the custom spacers weren't cheap so I should have really just saved for some rotas or similar!
-
My rays are currently in being powdercoated with an anthracite centre with the lip in silver. Also ordered 30mm rear spacers from driftworks
Will post up when they're on.

One of the friendly boys in blue that frequent this site should be able to confirm.
As I said before, tinting the windscreen and front sides is illegal full stop. All the rears can be done to whatever tint you like
-
The law as far as I know is absolutely no tint on windscreen or front sides. On the rear window and side rears you can do whatever you want
I think it changed from the percentage measuring in 2008? I'm sure somebody will correct me if not.

Which dodo juice wax to GM owners tend to use? I've got a pot of Diamond white in the garage from my ST ownership.
I use purple haze & blue velvet
The shine on yours looks good. I think I'll go for light fantastic. Its so difficult to get a good shine on silvers and gunmetals!

Can you check ( or do you know ) the legality of a forward facing plate on the sun visor please ............. purely as a temporary measure
Anything inside the window is a violation as it affects the reflectivity of the plate. I'll see tomorrow about any exemptions to the rule like if you can blag it by proving your on the way to a garage etc.. I assume you mean attached to the back of the visor facing out of the window?
That's it .... I ran my TransAm like that for a while without problems ... but that was then ....this is now
Well like I said its definitely a violation but I'll check for exemptions.
Whether you get pulled over or not is luck of the draw, depends where you drive, depends where certain areas are cracking down on boyracers (not that applies to you but they're on the lookout for plate violations because its an easy ticket). Traffic officers (or traffic perverts as we call them) will just go to town on things like this. Its just a question of how long until you get pulled. You might be lucky and get away with it for the rest of your zed ownership but like I said its all luck of the draw and depends on the kind of area you live in and your local force.

Just to clarify on the legalities as the question has been raised a few times. Having the plate hidden whilst parked on any sort of private land (ie. Driveway) is fine.
If parked on the side of a public highway (ie. Road outside your house) is a traffic violation and counts as an unlicensed vehicle.
But as always is the case with minor violations, depends on the discretion of the officer
Thanks Kris .... thought so
Not a problem, wouldn't be knocking doors myself but you know when a traffic officer is on the warpath...

Having the inside of the light painted will look good with the right colour match or contrast. But not a fan of the colour changing bulbs, and btw blue will be the colour that the po po will hate the most. As blue headlights and flashing headlights can be mistaken for an emergency vehicle!
-
You could possibly pull them off if blended to the bonnet. Otherwise not really a fan. There are one or two zeds on the forums that seem to pull it off though and I can see where the inspiration came from!

I've not long moved out of Stone down to Berkshire.
One thing I do not miss are the A34 cameras, S-O-T and the surrounding areas seem to be rife with them!
I do miss the sound of my K2 in meir tunnel though

Zed was in the bodyshop during the last one, should be at the next one pending my shifts
-
i think bumper ticks ONLY look good if you have an exhaust like the white one above otherwise it looks gash imo,
think it depend on the body shop really some like adjusting fibreglass others dont, depends how far out they are, but i would have thought if they were tigersealed on ect they would have been able to do it but if you want them removable it takes quite a bit of time and most bodyshops seem very busy atm so probably just didnt want to do it
I think the tucks still look good with a K2 style backbox imo.
Well I wanted them blending into the rear bumper and they wouldn't do that or even just bolt the on. No issue I can get another set. The seller was fine about it.

Anybody? I like this a lot.
what skirts are they?? been looking for while and they are the ones!!!
sorry bout reposting but what side skirts are these????
ta
I guess part of Nismo N1 or V1 kit. Depending on how rich you are.
They're not nismos, they look like the INGS+1 LX skirts

excuse my ignoreance, but what is a bumper tuck and why is it needed? (I'm guessing it shares the same principles as a tummy tuck?)
Its a way of showing off an aftermarket exhaust by folding up the centre section of the rear bumper and fixing it in place.
A few examples:
-
I think it is a nose off job but that's not a problem as I've bought a black aluminium grille so it's coming off anyway. The grille is only £15 so if it's a mod-u-like why not kill 2 birds with one stone
Well thats a bit annoying as the bumper was off last week to fit that very same grill! Was at the bodyshop at the time so didn't think to ask about taking off the plate holder while they were there. Ballache!
-
Was wondering this myself, will soon be getting rid of the ugly JDM front plate holder in order to fit the plate straight to the bumper. Hope it isn't a bumper off job. Struggling to find answers with the search. Also need the same onfo on the JDM rear plate replacement. Can't seem to find a simple way of removing it...
-
Just remembered, those pics were taken with the bumper off the car. So shouldn't have made a difference.
-
You've not had a bumper tuck at any point have you? That might affect the lines of the rear end (im guessing here, i've never seen a bumper tuck in person).
I have but it doesn't alter the lines an inch or two like they are in the pics. Seller agreed to full refund so not going to name and shame.
I've fallen in love...

Thanks komier
I've never been a fan of chrome wheels, and the problem over here is that the winter would kill them! You would definitely need a winter set of rims.
