Annoying insurance issue with my new Civic
sasha@lazytrips replied to chrisgunton's topic in Other Cars
The frustrating thing is that for those under 30, Admiral have a virtual monopoly price-wise which means that no matter how much you dislike them, you're gonna stick with them anyway. -
The Apple own-brand covers are pretty decent, but buy one in a dark colour as the lighter ones fade quite a bit and look a bit after a while. Or alternatively get yourself a non-apple one, but imho a cover that doubles as a stand is very useful. My wife's also got a wireless keyboard which she loves and uses frequently for writing anything long.

No. -
Excuse the close-up shot - doesn't look very big in real life.

you can get a replica from Likwidart (google the name + email the guy) for considerably less. The only difference is that the replica has a silver outline, but I've got one after having rubbish badges before and am very pleased with it.

A lot of zeds around in Scotland. -
Only a hop across the channel, this is a trip that anybody can do over the summer or take in a couple of the cities over a long weekend. The heart of medieval Europe is one of the most fascinating and culturally rich parts of the continent. Traditionally the most powerful and wealthy kingdoms have formed into present-day Netherlands and Belgium and if you like to mix your cultural enlightenment with gorgeous food and a fantastic beer, then a trip from Amsterdam to Brussels is in order. Whether you choose to travel by car or train, you will love the medieval architecture of these compact cities and the mix of ancient and modern history that is evident on every corner. From the historic Belfry on Bruges' Markt Square to the Red Lights District of Amsterdam, you will grow to love these North Sea cousins. Link: LazyTrips Road Trip: Holland and Belgium

Welcome I drove down to San Marino three months ago after going to the Bologna Motor Show. I've got to say I love San Marino - Definitely my favourite small European country by a mile. Also, it's amazing how much attention a zed can get in Europe given that the majority of people have never seen one before! -
Yes.

If you are really that worried (which I dont think you need to be at all) then Id consider buying some race fuel and putting that in instead, Toluene isnt entirely legal to pour straight into your fuel tank (nop duty ) so isnt that straightforward to get hold of - race fule is a lot more straightforward. If you want to siphon a tank then pull the fuel hose off the engine and do it from that end instead would be my advice EDIT: Actually, ignore my advice, its obviously pointless as Sasha says. Let just stick with the findings of Karl Benz, his car worked pretty good and stuff. Who comes on here to find stuff out anyway, everyone knows engines run on magic pixie dust and fairy glitter, whats the point in getting technical about anything. I never said that the moment a drop of 95 hits your petrol tank the entire car will begin shaking violently before exploding into a blue haze and collapsing to a small pile of ash. My comments referred to continuous use of lower grade petrol for a period of a number of years over which the engine is much more likely to have sustained damage than if the same engine was run predominantly on the premium stuff. I'm not pretending to be some kind of a tech expert.

So you think that just because you started the thread and asked a genuine question, that gives you the right to disturb the totally irrelevant and completely pointless tangent at which we have all gone?

Drinking a bottle of wine all by yourself one evening = get drunk, knock about a bit, but as soon as you dilute it with a bit of water and keep drinking mostly non-alcoholic drinks after, you'll be fine with no lasting effects. Drinking a bottle of wine for breakfast, lunch and dinner every single day = your internals will give up and unfortunately Cosworth don't sell forged livers.

1. If it didn't make a difference, why would the manufacturer indicate which grade of fuel you must use for your engine? 2. It does make a difference - vast amounts of information available as to why and how. 3. I feel sorry for anyone who buys your car if you choose to sell in the future as that is going to be one serious dud.

Other than the fact that a number of high performance cars are fitted with aluminium nuts including all porsche models. The bolts are a different matter, but forged aluminium alloy nuts are very popular and are perfectly fine. There is also the added matter of Aluminium being much more rust resistant which in turn means that over time, its internal structure will not sharply degrade due to to corrosion. To the OP: I run Emotion Power nuts (very similar to the ones you're looking at) and they look great, are easy to fit and are a forged aluminium alloy. Everybody has their own preferences though.

THE BEST LETTER YOU COULD COME HOME TOO.....

I wrote to them asking to recalculate as I was pretty sure I was owed a little. -
I suggest putting a can of beer in the drink holder. If the beer is lifted out just after the lights come on and the level drops, then you know it's a poltergeist and not your car.

I got £75. Nowt compared to you two, but still £75 better off than before. -
Just to clarify: 1. I have no problem with anybody based on what car they drive now/have driven in the past. 2. I am generally open-minded and do not have prejudices based on a person's age/background/job or anything else for that matter. The statements above were based solely on the fact that, perhaps because I am old beyond my years, I find it very difficult to read posts with absolutely no punctuation, very poor grammar and spelling (including txt spk). In addition (and I risk repeating myself here), irrespective of the driving experience, skills or car ownership history of the person concerned, if somebody writes about losing control of the car in circumstances where they clearly were not adhering to the conditions and then ask whether something is wrong with their car, I won't be having much sympathy with that person. Yes, we've all had our moments when we felt that perhaps we had lost control, slid where we shouldn't have, gone too fast through a corner, but the right reaction here is to be humble and learn for the future as driving a moderately powerful rear-wheel drive car does not inductively make you a driving god amongst mere mortals. --- Also, arguments about the Land Rover are quite frankly irrelevant. I judge the speed I should be going through a corner on my own ability, the car's ability and the conditions rather than the speed of the person in front of me. I have twice witnessed the person in front of me write off their car and have enough sense to know two things: i. I am able to decide for myself what is appropriate for any given stretch of the road. ii. Many cars on the road including some Land Rovers will have far superior handling ability/control in a number of situations than I will in my zed because while I personally love my car I have the sense to know that there all cars are different and many are better for different purposes/in different situations.
