Hi there, Thanks for the replies. To give you an update: Had the 3100DVD fitted and it’s superb, I’m very happy with it. One thing I like is that while I don’t have the special Pioneer lead that allows control of the HU from the iPhone, I can actually still control the HU through my phone using voice control on my 3GS using a normal USB cable. This is handy and a lot safer I feel than scrolling on the move! The OEM sat nav does still work but the sound does not. The steering wheel controls do not work. I had it fitted by Road Radio in Greenwich, they told me there was no loom for this, I’m not too worried about this anyway. I’m sure there are more specialist fitters out there for the Z, but these guys did a good job. The Halfords camera is superb! Both the Pioneer and the unbranded one they had in their shop would have required a more intrusive fitting (drilling in the bumper, etc). This one is tiny and is fitted just by the boot release. It only costs £80 and Road Radio fitted it for £40 at the same time as doing the HU. Image quality and wide angle are really good. Thanks again, Rob

Hi all, Great forum, you guys seem to know the answer to pretty much everything, so hopefully you can answer this! I picked up my 350Z about a month ago – it’s fantastic, totally in love with everything about it… accept the Bose stereo!!! So I’m getting the HU replaced with the Pioneer AVH-3100DVD next week. A few questions about the install… 1. Will the OEM sat nav still have sound? (the guy fitting it thought probably not) 2. Will the OEM sat nav still work at all? (the guy fitting it thought possibly not) 3. Reading up on threads here when the 3100 was first released it seems to be a bit hit and miss whether or not the steering wheel controls would still work. Is this still the case or was a solution found? 4. I also quite like the idea of getting a reverse camera put in at the same time, the one that seems cheapest and with the least intrusive fitting is the £80 unit that Halfords sell. Does anyone have this - any good? Any help much appreciated. (Car is a GT spec on 08 plate) Many thanks, Rob
