know some excellent places to eat Digsy. Can give you the details Stayed there a couple of years ago. Some of the best sunsets in the world. Oia is lovely and a bit more relaxed than Fira the capital Fira buit still is very nice with plenty of shops. No real sandy beaches but there is a couple of black sandy beaches. You need to where something on ya feet on these as they burn ya feet. Hiring a car is worhtwhile but as public transport is a bit unreliable and soemtimes doesn't turn up. Taxis are no probs. We stayed in Kamari. Which was 15 mins by taxi from Fira.
