depends if the original material is at that size. Normally TV size is 720 pixels wide. Widescreen is more at 1024 pixels wide but it is made anamorphic so the image looks stretched in the Y axis so is actually still 720 pixels, You may have seen this on a telly if its not set up correctly. The only true way to get over 720 pixels is to film in HD. Then it will be 1920 pixels wide.
