sorry to hear this. I found that when I took my last dog to be out down, I took his bed. So he was used to something familiar in a strange place. Be prepared not get the bed back though as it will get messed.

engine should be cold, the only true way to measure the oil level. Thats always the way i've done it. Show me the handbook where it says warm

the light is nothing to do with oil level but to do with oil pressure. When the light comes on your pumping air round the engine

engine needs to be cold and car on level gorund before checking the oil. Don't check it if you just started it up to move it 5 meters. Oil will already be pumped around the engine so give a false reading.
