  1. the metal retainer is just the wear indicator. When the pad gets low the metal prong will rub on the disc making it scrach. Its not required.

    TVR Chimaera

love a TVR but I'm sure its unreliability and costs would drive me mad even as a weekend car
  3. ECE Regulation 90 The European approval standard How is the standard achieved? To achieve the E standard, brake pads must conform to three key areas of regulation: Production The production plant must conform to acceptable control standards such as ISO9002 and carry conformity of production tests on friction, shear and compressibility. Performance Pads must be tested through a combination of independently witnessed vehicle and dynamometer procedures to assess compatibility to the OE pad, speed sensitivity and product integrity. The aftermarket pad must be ±15% of the OE. Packaging Boxes and pads must be marked with a defined set of information, such as the approval number and the applications for which the pads are approved. The box containing the product must be tamper-proof and contain fitting instruction in the language of the country in which it is sold. Is the E standard necessary? If you want to be assured of the highest quality brake pads, the answer is an unequivocal YES. The standard ensures that the company's production conforms to total quality requirements and that the technical performance of the brake pads are the same as those demanded for OE equipment. Is the standard obligatory? The provisions of Regulation 90 have already been ratified and adopted by European Union member states. It is illegal to sell light commecial vehicle brake pads if they have not achieved the standard. It is anticipated that the regulation will apply to heavy commercial vehicles soon. or its this
  4. Mine vibrated at the higher end of speeds due to winter weathering and low usage, as they got hotter the vibration would come down in speed. Do a good bedding in procedure to see if it cures it. If not its time to replace discs and pads I'm afraid.
  5. the problem may be more apparent now, now you've had your braided lines fitted. I had the same issue. The discs aren't touched when fitting the lines so its just something that is now more obvious. I ended up changing my discs as they were quite weathered over winter low usage and the build up of rust on the inner disc was heavy causing uneven wear. The other thing to perhaps consider is your front bushes. They may be split. I also found this issue. ZMANALEX can supply these Changing the discs and pads will now doubt cure the issue. It did for me.
  6. apparently down for maintenance. just pm him meantime

  9. Replace my badly weathered EBC turbo grooved discs as they were warping when getting hot, for some new DBA 4600 discs with some DS2500 pads. Excellent service and great price from Mitz once again. Always a pleasure doing business with.
