  1. 2ns dibs on airbox and decats if ENved or kevlo don't come through. Money waiting...........

  3. With regards to aerodynamics, this is factored in my analysis above, even though I didn't know it at the time. I have re-read my thesis and found contemporaneous notes to support this. Yes, the poo could increase its acceleration by becoming more aerodynamic on its descent (like a sky-diver or a peregrine falcon) but shape-shifting poo, albeit one on a mission, is too much for me to contemplate. Particularly with the Pope around. Thanks for the support of my hypothesis Professor Ekona. I think we can now take 70mph to be empirical and properly documented in accordance with scientific method such as is applicable to this particular field of inquiry. Perahps we could all now concentrate on Doctor Bullet-Magnet's original dubiety, namely the effect of said "motion".
  4. Thanks. Are side indicators a legal requirement?
  5. I'm afraid I have just given this quite a lot of thought. Although I am unable to calculate the terminal velocity of a poo I doubt it would be much more than 100 mph, but then again, at that height it might be quicker due to lower pressure at height and would therefore slow down as it reaches the earth. This leads to other questions like "how aerodynamic is the poo?", "what percentage is the water content and therefore what is the consequent mass of the turd?". Either way, it would make a splat, and would possibly hurt depending on consistency. Have I thought about this too much? On a 12 ounce poo I've worked out the terminal velocity is 32m/s, or about 71 mph. I am taking 12 ounce as a "mean poo" but you can increase/decrease the speed if you thinks yours weigh more/less. Therefore, the impact force on the ground from 1700 feet is 2000-2500 Newtons. I've not included variables for density or aerodynamics. This poo is solid and it's on a mission. Now, I hear you say, WTF does 2500 Newtons feel like. Well, 12 ounces is twice the weight of a cricket ball so the "impact" would be similar to the world's fastest bowlers hitting you with twice the force of their fastest deliveries (Deceleration and friction means "90mph" deliveries reach the batsmen at 65-70mph) Given all the above, I'd suggest the hard hats that were poo-pooed earlier are indeed an essential accessory.
  6. er.......so there are holes behind the current indicators and the current Z badge and if you replace the Z badge with this indicating badge you will have 2 indicators. Correct?
  7. Are there any sources for "Fairlady Z" in black?
  8. Any pics of these on any cars? I assume the current side Z badge comes off with no holes behind and these sit on top of the indicator holes?
  9. Don't know about Bluetooth. Sounds good to me. Never had a BOSE. It'a an Alpine CDE W203Ri. Here's the specs: http://www.alpine-electronics.co.uk/pro ... 203ri.html
  10. Get a friend to drop a wrench on your head from a first floor window and post back the results. ERM... the tool bag is below the top climber....and from what i saw the top climber had no tools in his hand.... So they are both at the top of the tower.....who's dropping stuff from the first floor window on them then? The top climber is above the bottom climber for quite a distance. He might drop something. His fix-line carabina hook looks pretty meaty to drop on someone's head. Also, if you are climbing and hit your head on a rung/rail going up, you can cause yourself to lose balance. It wasn't meant to be a scientific analysis, but it is the reason they wear hard-hats.
  11. I know this is double-DIN but it does all you want and looks great. This piccie was taken before I fitted the correct surround so now it's flush all round.

  13. Took me a while to notice the little innocent pair of feet standing directly behind er...............his feet may be innocent but 3 feet further up.........
  14. ......or suicidal. 6:51 "and this is the tricky part"
  15. Got an 03 import and its got VDC. Where? The car is parked on my drive .......... oh, right, the button RHS of steering wheel near the fuel filler release. It says VDC on that and my dash light comes up as VDC when its turned off. It is traction control, but will also brake the front wheels if you change down too violently or if it thinks you are about to start sliding. I dont like it very much TBH Nope, not me. Just TCS which is always turned off anyway in the dry. I guess I must have the most basic JDM. It's s**t, really.
  16. There is sooooo much more I could show but a lot of it would be frowned on.............. It was really a genuine attempt to stop people who (appear) to know nothing (except what they read off spec sheets) telling the OP what to do. I've got a real-world example of how 7 year old 276hp matches 4 year old 296hp and I think that's what the guy wants to know, not how fast a Boxster S is. I'd love to compare my car on the track against a 313hp car to see how much "better" it is than an old 276hp auto. rtbiscuit reckons there wouldn't be half a car between us and the OP has to decide if that is worth £10,000.
  17. I think you made a phone call to the stewards to pull me to save you any more embarrasment. Especially as I had my "human anchor" with me.
  18. Why don't we anser the OP's questions instead of talking about Porsches? rtbiscuit has done this nicely on the first page and I can show you more videos of me overtaking a 296hp GT manual with a 276hp basic auto on the track. As I had a little more experience than the other driver, let's say the 2 models are "identical" in performance. (We both have mods but I would guess my plenum spacer only cancelled out the 3 years wear-and-tear between the 2 of us.) I've also got video of me losing ground to Ian is his lovely 400 bhp Z but he was paying about £10,000 for the privilege. It really depends on your finances and "need" to have either a more luxuriously appointed car or a special edition and your feelings on depreciation etc. If you're loaded and a garage-queen buy a GT4 and spend your weekends licking it. If you want to save £8,000ish, but a cheap '03/'04 JDM (one went for under £6k recently!!) and have fun. I doubt that anybody on this forum has got the driving skills to show any noticeable difference between any of the models so rtbiscuit's recommendation to buy a 276hp and get driver training (and I would add Brembos and uprated discs) is absolutley spot on.

    106 track car

mmmmmmm.......interesting. Is the car street-legal and do you have a best lap time for Castle Combe? Thanks.
  20. £8000 of '03 JDM auto basic v. £15k of '06 UK manual GT. You decide........................ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWD7RCv_-4A
