  1. I prefer these: Correct Accuracy Pride FPMSL Post of the year, right there. Magnificent work fella! Good try but unfortunately incorrect, inaccurate and humourless. There is no such entity as "correct" or "accurate" English. You can make this judgement about Greek, Latin or Egyptian Heiroglyphics for example, because they are dead languages set in stone and therefore able to be judged as "correct" or otherwise. This is not applicable to English as it evolves by the minute. For example, if Husky had written this post in the late 1800s or early 19th century, he would have been very annoyed by the new word "hello" which had just started being used as a greeting, first on the new-fangled telephone and later in general life. Does anybody here think we shouldn't use the word hello because it is fairly new to the English language? Our grand-children may well all be writing "m8" in 2121 and looking at old documents with this strange word "mate" in it by then and scratching their hedz. English, and all other living languages, change constantly. Test-speak will be amalgamated over the next decade or so in to popular usage (a more correct description than er, "correct") and only the deeply sad will bring others to book for it's usage. As for "pride", well, if you feel "a high sense of one's personal status or ego" or "the specific mostly positive emotion that is a product of praise or independent self-reflection" after writing something down "correctly" you're a bit of a nincompoop.
  2. Some words for all of you to cogitate and digest: Pedant A pedant is a person who is excessively concerned with formalism and precision, or who makes a show of their learning. Humourless Lacking a sense of humour Laissez-faire The phrase laissez-faire is French and literally means "let do", but it broadly implies "let it be", or "leave it alone." Midlife crisis Midlife crisis is a term coined in 1965 by Elliott Jaques and used in Western societies to describe a period of dramatic self-doubt that is felt by some individuals in the "middle years" or middle age of life, as a result of sensing the passing of their own youth and the imminence of their old age.
  3. As an estate agent, I'd say old every time. Larger rooms, larger overall plots, room for extensions when money allows, convertable attics, better quality build etc. etc. "Old" really stops at 1980ish in my eyes. After that point, the chances of finding high-quality construction and decent plots are minimal. New builds these days are usually 16 plus to the acre whereas estates up to the early 80s rarely exceeded 10-12. I've got a development at the moment at 20 per acre and it's hell in there. Financially, new-builds are sometimes good as the builder will offer Stamp Duty and conveyancing assistance and maybe cash-back making your need to accumulate a deposit less difficult. However, new estates take time to find their real value and can go either way (like cars) With an older home, this has already happened and you will know if you are buying in to a good area.

  5. I predict £1 some time next year and I will retire at 48 and we'll have a Zed-Range party: Cragus will bring some booze. 27 May 2011 The Manager Company Announcements Australian Securities Exchange Limited Level 6, 20 Bridge Street SYDNEY NSW 2000 By e-lodgement COMPANY UPDATE International oil and gas exploration, development and production company, Range Resources Limited ("Range" or "the Company") is pleased to provide the following updates with regards to the Company's production and development assets in Texas and Trinidad. Texas Work is being completed on the North Chapman Ranch fracture stimulation ("frac") program, where results have seen a dramatic increase to oil and gas flow rates from the Russell-Bevly #1 well. Work has now been completed on the uppermost zone of the Russell-Bevly, where indications are that the frac was a complete success, with 150,000 lbs. of frac sand having been pumped into the formation. Stabilised flow rates are approximately 3.5 MMcfd and 350 Bopd from the one zone alone, which should add substantially to the overall rate and recovery from the well once co-mingled with the other completed zones (expected to significantly exceed the budgeted 4 MMcfd and 350 Bopd for all the producing zones in the well). Work will now move back to the Smith well. In the East Clarksville field, Range and its partners await the arrival of frac equipment and crews to begin work on the recently drilled Ross 3H horizontal well. The well was successfully drilled and cased with a 3,400 ft. later section, with good oils shows observed throughout the horizontal drilling phase. Frac work is expected to begin within the next 2 weeks. Trinidad Following on from the recently announced agreement that sees Range acquiring 100% of SOCA Petroleum (with completion to occur in the coming days), the Company, along with operations teams in Dallas and Trinidad, is currently finalizing an aggressive work program that is expected to see a rapid increase in production from the existing reserve base as it moves towards its targeted production rate of 4,000 bopd from existing P1 and P2 reserves (currently production is 650-700 bopd). The program will also target the deeper (and potentially bigger) Herrera formation and untested areas not currently forming part of the current reserve base. The work program is expected to commence in the next 30-45 days with the first phase being 9 shallow wells in the Upper Cruse, Lower Forest, and Shallow Forest formations, at depths of 250-2,000 ft. Based on the shallow target depths, individual wells are expected to take approximately one to two weeks to drill and complete, with initial flow rates expected in the range of 40-150 bopd per well. Range's technical team will also reprocess the existing 3D seismic to upgrade the current 10 plus Herrera targets and will provide regular updates on progress with this work. The process will also update the Company's current reported reserves. Added Peter Landau, Range Executive Director "We couldn't be more pleased with the results of the recent frac work on the Russell-Bevly #1. Initial rates from this one zone alone have surpassed what other operators are getting from several wells combined. We are also very excited about the imminent drilling operations in Trinidad. In preparation for what we see as an aggressive development program designed to immediately increase oil production from the existing fields, the Company is taking steps to ensure that the required equipment and drilling supplies are on hand, while addressing human resource needs to meet the additional administrative and operational demands." Yours faithfully Peter Landau Executive Director
  6. This thread is a joke, isn't it? Please tell me it is. 30 in 6th.................
  7. Really? I've driven 400 miles today using the sat nav for 6 hours and watching stocks and shares and general surfing and I've used 6.66 mb on my HTC desire. I've got 750 mb a month with Orange (£30 a month) and never use more than 200mb including tethering.
  8. That's a bloody good shout No it's not..................
  9. Citroen DS3 Racing. Just over budget but give it a go..........
  10. I've always done a session on 35 and then copied what more experienced racers are doing. A couple of weeks ago the pressure read 42 after 15 minutes so I took them down to 37ish (hot) so if you want to start with lower pressure, I'd say 30. Might pop in to Combe on the way back from Abbey so I'll say hi if I see you.
  11. you need to get a manual gearbox that 300 wasnt standard... and he seemed to knew the lines, must have been a pain in the arse with all that traffic for him. buffering his single lap to see what lines he's doing. There is always sc or tt route available Not sure if Abbey can do something about the autobox shifting like change it's behaviour in say sport mode to keep the gears in for longer braking... I need a trackday in mine... I don't drive in auto......on the track or anywhere else. I bought the Zed when I had 1 day to buy a car when my 325 blew up so the car chose me, not the other way round I really don't think it would make a difference if I had a manual. The tiptronic is good and I'm sure the up-rev will be a lot of fun.
  12. 1. '06 airbox £60 2. performance filter £30 3. spacer £170 3. racing cats/decats £350 4. exhaust - £500 5. Up-rev - £420 Probably give you 30hp+ for £1500ish
  13. How it should be done..................
  14. PS - your pop-charger reduces hp so if it's gains you want, you've started on the wrong foot.
  15. No cons but I believe you won't get the benefit of the 5hp until you Up-Rev - another £400 odd quid.
  16. Nice vids Mrtin. mmmmmmmmmmmmm........1:25 Will see how I do after my Up-Rev at Abbey on Wednesday. Need them to find me 1.3 seconds. Come on boys!
  17. The falkens will be fine for you mate. If you did however track it then i expect you wouldnt really enjoy it but if its just road driving and a blast on country roads at the weekend then i think you will find them perfect for your application My car is my daily runner and I track it often. Goodyear Eagle F1A tyres are much better than the Falkens and not much more money if you haggle. Quieter and you go faster. What more do you want? I have eagle f1's on my suzuki and they are amazing. It's the v-grooved ins though. Is it goodyears you use on track captain? Yep. I'm going 1.5 sec quicker this year at Castle Combe with no performance mods (except for the resonated cats) Only spun once so thumbs for Goodyear
  18. Any idea what they're in??

  20. Dexter is good. (As good as Breaking Bad, not as good as The Sopranos) The Wire makes them all look like The Bill.
