  1. well I'm ordering some belts asap and will let you know how I got on!
  2. Welcome - your headlights are lovely Rome is a stunning nice city but has been said before - drivers are crazy! Last time I went the taxi driver I was with summed it up for me - We were driving towards a crossroads and he never slowed down for other traffic approaching from side, when I asked why he told me 'I only stop for bigger cars, otherwise it's up to them to avoid me' I fastened my seatbelt and checked it twice as he told me this laughing into the night....
  3. just how easy is this - doesnt look that challenging but I know just how quickly little jobs I do soon become nightmare all nighters! Been getting a few quotes to have it done at garage and they are ranging between £85 - £100 which just seems silly money for what is essentially swapping out an elastic band!
  4. shoudnt there be about 14 bolts holding it up around the edge and one bigger opne in the middle? have you checked there all attached properly?
  5. that would be great stuff mate - might as well a crack at it myself! I'll drop you a PM
  6. been on the blower to Nissan for most part of this morning... I call up asking for the price of replacement aux belts for a 2003 JDM 350z, and also a price for having them fitted. Firstly they don't know what part codes for the belts, that's okay i told them - I already have them. ooh no that would be way to simple! They need to find out the part codes on there super dooper computer, ok so what do you need from me I ask? They want me reg, I give them it, they want my chassis number, I give them it. I'm then told that that is not my chassis number! After a a few head scracthing minutes and a chat with the supervisor they realise that it is in fact my chassis number and now they also need a model number. Ok, ill go out in the rain and get it I tell them, even though i have the part numbers for the belts written down in front of me!! 10 wet minutes later and I call back, craig has gone on break I'm told, ok so i call back in another 10 minutes. I give all numbers required, the nunmbers are wrong he says! I stress to him that the numbers are not wrong and it may well be the computer or user that is wrong? he gets supervisor again who comes on saying 'ahhh, its an import!' yes just like I said in the very first 10 seconds of the call!!! Im told that the numbers are okay and they will call back with prices after the com, puter searches for them! 10 minutes later I get a call back, they found the belts on the computer and guess what - exactly the same part code as i had lol they tell me it will be £20.51 for aircon belt, £17.041 for alt belt, I ask how much for the fitting and they have to transfer me to service desk, get transferred - they dont understand what im talking about, speak to another person in service dept and im asked for all chassis and model numbers again! finally they tell me that they can;t find my car with the details supplied and need to find someone who can help and will call back. A further 10 minutes pass and the call comes in, they have the price for fitting the belts and it will be £92.41 to get - so thats a total of £130 to buy and fit the belts! To end the conversation nicely I'm then told that they have received a ntoe from parts saying that both belts are on back order so they cant supply or fit them anyway!! What an utter waste of time!
  7. I don't know what I did as I only wanted a cheap item, but it looks like I'm going to be Envy's best customer (or maybe just top ten judging by some of you on here!). ...
  8. as always Alex - your a star! I'll take a look in the tray in the morning.
  9. yeah I'm gunna try get to Nissan to get some belts on my lunch, I'll see how much they charge to get them swapped tomorrow and if too much (as obviously will be via a stealer!) then I'll change myself - just a pain in the cold, dark and wet conditions at the moment!!
  10. my belts have been squeaking a little of late and so thought I'd look at getting them swapped over this week. Just took a look at them and one seems to be decidedly smaller than the other - this is not normal surely?? I was under the impression that the belts are of similar width? also, correct me if I'm wrong but the right belt is the A/C belt? comparrison.... nice chubby belt... skinny poorly belt...

although i do actually agree with you here, did you not have a go at everyone who doesnt buy original bodykits not too long ago? that wasnt a very 'live and let live' attitude!
  12. I'd be interested in a flip key ideally, either carbon or normal - anything's better than the original!!
  13. I'm not excusing anyone in any way. I'm just saying that if I had 3 cars that needed work doing then I would much prefer to call a company or at the very least emailing them directly, expecially after waiting for weeks or even months for a reply? You cannot expect all companies to keep up with all the forums they may be on and keeping track of all PM's, they simply do not work that way. Again I am not commented upon the service you have received or the service levels of this particular company - just my 2 pennies worth on how to contact a company
  14. have you tried calling them? usually a much more efficient way to deal with a company
  15. Im sure ZMANALEX said he had some not too long ago -- try PMing him
  16. out of curiosity - what is the view out of the back window like with a V1 spoiler fitted?
  17. standard belts seem to be around £35 from Nissan, some nice blue ones from Gates for around £65 though (both belts). I'll be swapping mine soon as I getting a little sqeeking every now - a good excuse to start colour coding under the bonnet!

  19. how much will that set you back?
  20. nice, try get a few more pictures next time though!
  21. I'm off online for the first time - wish me luck!!
