  1. Well im getting some coil overs next Thursday and currently have Tein springs on which i believe are 30mm. Ill try and get some pics so you can see how low they are on mine, possibly somebody will be be able to confirm also. But i will sell them to you if you can wait?

  2. welcome to the forum.

The GT model is only for non import models, The imports have either the S, T, ST and one other which i cant remember off hand. It should have this on the paperwork with the car (MOT, Tax etc) Also did the garage import it, or did the previous owner? if so get the Import information as this will also tell you what model, and the condition it was in when they recieved it.

Have a look at the model specs list on the forum it will give you a bit more in detail information

If your not so desperate to get one straight away it might be worth waiting until something comes up on here, at least that way you know the car will have been looked after.

Depending on your budget i would always go for a newer hard top but thats only because the convertibles dont appeal to me so much. Its really going to be down to personal taste and how long your intending on keeping it.

  3. I was looking between the two same cars and test drove both, im obviously going to say the zed but ill explain my reason. The Zed has a much more muscle car feel to it, the sound of the V6 is awesome, and to drive you really cant have more fun in another car. its also very reliable and has hardly any serious faults as long as its treated well. The RX8 has a Rotary engine that will apparently drink as much oil as petrol, it requires much more maintenance as my parents had one for a while and they were always taking it to the garage for services. To drive its very smooth and the handling is very good with a stylish interior (to me anyway), but it lacked that raw power that the Zed has.

Dont get me wrong both cars are good but without understanding what kind of driver you are and what type of car you enjoy driving its hard to choose, it will come down to the one that ticks more boxes.

  4. Ive got the veilside and it looks B) It is still pretty low though.

U got any close up pics mate? i like the idea of the colour coded edges.

I will take some pics tomorrow for you and post them up  , the lip is wrapped in vinyl at the edges and black in the middle.

  5. I remember saying i would never put any more mods when i purchased the car from a forum member who had put skirts and a front lip on.... and then i went and bought new wheels and suspension a month later  Theres no turning back from the dark side aka modding :starwars:

  6. In terms of bringing the cost down it again comes down to the marketing and what the companies market image is, for example if Bentley reduced their prices to Lexus prices they would be competing in a totally different market. These companies keep the cost high as thats the image they want to maintain. The compnies like top secret, veilside etc wont bring their prices down to Japspeed prices once a product has broken even as that would de value their brand.

In an over saturated market this problem would never exist as products are created, to make a loss in some instances, just so their name is out there. Unfortuantely the modding scene is in an unsaturated market therefore the big names can continue to charge big prices, it wont be until the replica brands practically treble in numbers will we see original manufacturers reduce prices.

  7. Its just how the market works, original items are created and then smaller companies replicate them at a cheaper price to be competitive.

I understand the whole point about replicas screwing over the originals, but in most cases thats why they start at such a high price and come down in price within a year, the money the product generates in the first few months to a year is what covers the R&D of that product. Generally after that the money that comes in is a contribution to the companies profit and its up to them if they position themselves at the top end of the market or reduce the price to be competitive.

A company will never stop doing the R&D, why would they? it still makes them a profit as people like BM, myself and a lot of other people will always go for the original over a replica, for me its just down to the fact i believe the quality will be better, this isnt aimed at Coops or any other trader as the products they are offering are not the type of products that require a great deal of work to make them high quality, im talking about engine mods, complete body kits, exhausts etc. Not saying making carbon fibre moulds is easy but compared to creating new cams or engine manifolds... you see my point.
