Just tried the key programming guide, and although this worked fine the car wont start.
Ignition on - rad fans come on - go to start the car and it wont fire (although turns over fine), fuel pump also not priming.
Ideas? PS this is the guide I tried:
Was out in the 350 yesterday and parked up last night.
Today it wont start. Battery is fine, car turns over fast but it wont catch.
Turning the ignition on and there is no priming sound from the fuel pump.
The rad fans also come on as soon as the ignition is on.
I've tried both my keys with no luck.
I guess somehow the keys are no longer sync'd to the immobiliser, although I have no idea how this has happened - car locks/unlocks fine, and has never had any problems in the past.
Anything I can try?
Hello Chris, I have replied to your PM.
I've had a lot of interest via e-mail but not had a single viewing for the car since putting it up. People keep telling me its priced correctly and its in excellent condition so hopefully just a matter of time.
Thanks Andy
Bump, had quite a bit of interest and a few tyre kickers, it seems the Cat D is putting a few people off unfortunately.
Its still for sale, and has just had a full detail, looks excellent! Absolutely superb.
Thanks Andy
This all links back to the clutch pedal (microswitch):
Faulty microswitch = no start, as the clutch needs to be depressed.
Faultly microswitch = flashing cruise light, as the clutch is part of the cruise system.
Hope this helps, I have a parts diagram of this system if it would help?
I've recently added a new key to my zed and had a look at the internals. The actual transponder is quite small so may just work. I'll take one of the keys apart later and measure the chip, hopefully someone can do the same with a micra key?
Would certainly be a good mod over the original key!
As someone has posted quite a lot of windscreens on new cars prevent RF due to a film built in to prevent some kind of UV getting through. We have an S5 in work which has this and no 3rd party sat nav will work.
However this is still total crock shite as yours I guess is a factory fit sat nav which will have its aerial located somewhere else within the car (usually far away from the windscreen). Therefore aftermarket (tomtom) with their built in aerials wont work, but factory fitted ones will fine.
My guess would be on a firmware / software issue.
I doubt the actual red paint would be fading as they are painted with waterbased paints with a 2k clear over the top.
It is more likely the clear has become cloudy due to your local enviroment.
Waxes can help to a certain degree, but the best method is a mop every 6 months with something like autoglym SRP on a slow machine setting.
Hope this helps
I have a drivers side headlight which is cracked, but the internals are all intact and work fine.
Not sure what this is worth but its complete with the ballast etc.
Offers?
I've had my Zed for a few months now and usually get 22mpg average per week on my commute. 8 miles of motorway & 3 town. Have seen 30mpg on a long motorway run.
I've done hill climbing with my Lotus's which is very similar. Its quite a low cost motorsport compared to actually racing on a track. Good fun too!
To be honest the zed is not suited to sprinting at all, something small & light is the key
Thanks guys,
TBH we are also looking into another way to raise the extra 3k we need for the wedding. So maybe it can stay, but out of this and my Lotus unfortunately this will have to go
(WHAT THE HELL IS THE POINT IN SPENDING 15k ON ONE F*CKING DAY ANYWAY lol!)
Good pportunity for someone looking to upgrade from a Renaultsport Megane / Clio as this would suit me perfectly over winter.
Reduced to £11,995
Unfortunately have to sell to provide another few grand for our wedding next year.
Car is in excellent condition & a very genuine sale.
