  1. Was driving home last night, and when i stopped at traffic lights I noticed the full beam indicator was on but full beam wasn't on. Rear wiper was also constantly going and there was no indication on the dash that my head lights were on but they were I then pulled into a car park and noticed the following issues: Headlights would come on with the ignition even though the switch was off in the car. Indicators when put on would flash a tiny bit and stop (nothjing showing up on the dash) Rear wiper continued going on its own even though it was off with the car turned off, when locked / unlocked the rear wiper moved depending on how many flashes the indicators made. Then when driving home the indicators wouldnt flash at all. I had my headlight switch off all the way but the headlights were on the whole time. Then after 5 mins it went back to normal and was fine on the way to/from football today Car is going back in saturday, to have the communication of some modules looked at for the alarm. Any ideas what this could be so I can give them some sort of idea where to look (we know what dealers can be like) Dodgy earth/CAN-BUS? Anyone else experienced this? Thanks Gervais
  2. I was heading up the a13 towards dagenham in the orange 350. You were going round the roundabout towards pc world etc.
  3. Gave my car its weekly wash and check earlier and thought I would check the air filter. Found a nice collection of leaves hiding in there! Pulled out the big onces then hoovered up the rest of the crap! Never had that on any of my previous cars. And its not like there is a big gap for them to get in there Not sure if it would affect performance etc but gives yours a check if it's not been done for a while as you may have all sorts in there too.
  4. My Golf is on my drive outside my house. Going to look for the zed at the previous owners address when I get home.
  5. When I said sharper I meant what number86 said when he said they spark into life, I was just poor at describing it Definately sounds like you have them though, admittedly they are not as bright as the kit I fitted to my previous golf but I still find they are a vast improvement over halogens.
  6. HID's are a lot sharper when they turn on and they get brighter if you watch them for the first few secs.
  7. Looks much better! Car looks very nice and in the best colour (although I may be biased ) You’ve made me want to get clear reflectors and mod the middle of the bumper like yours now though which isn’t good! Where did you get them from?
  8. To check the fans on the leon, put the climate control on Lo both fans should spin constantly. OEM waterpumps had plastic impellors but new ones had metal ones. Cupra R's should have had the cambelts done by now and hopefully the water pump too.
  9. My dad did the same thing when i first showed him the car
  10. Thanks! Corsa was originally a 1.6 sport. But i had an engine conversion using a c20xe engine from an astra GTE which is a 2.0 16v with 150 bhp Managed to get a 15.3 at Santa pod. Definately surprised people on the road and was a lot of fun
  11. Not really memory lane as I've not had that many but hey. 1. Mk3 golf 1.4cl - Got it on 105k and sold it on 155k, only had one thing go wrong which was the water pump! 2. Corsa sport - started off as a 1.6 but I had it converted to a 2.0 16v 3. Golf 25th Anni 1.8t 4. Sunset 350z GT
  12. Thanks for the comments dude.... I used some really fine wet & dry first to remove the built up soot, the Autosol to finish them off... took a little while but well worth it if you ask me... Cheers will give it a go
  13. Definately going to give that a go
  14. Cat C's usually need it because the damage should be far worse. The VIC check verifys the vehicle's identity (Chassis number and reg docs) are correct and not a ringer/cut and shut.
  15. Only Cat C vehicles should need to go through the Vehicle Identity Check (VIC) with VOSA. Then you can apply for the logbook which should state on there that the vehicle has been a Cat C write off. Cat D can be repaired and put straight back on the road assuming it has MOT etc. Nothing appears on the logbook and the majority of Insurance companies shouldn't ask for extra money or documents.
  16. Very good write ups in this thread, nice to see you taking good care of her aswell Can you remember what you used to get the exhaust tips so shiny? Would it also work on the backbox or do they go all 'lumpy' when weathered?
  17. Excellent thanks Alex, will have a read
  18. Glad it's making some headway.
  19. Cubby with a slide top near the handbrake.
  20. Hi Alex, did you get around to fitting them? I know they're not bedded in yet but how do they feel in comparison to the standard ones?
  21. Mine whistles on the drivers side at high leptons, press the window up switch and it stops for a bit
  22. Matty - I'll run my fingers through their hair if it means they fix it Bronzee - Yeah i could probably get most of it out, not going to touch it for now though. The dirt has covered them up again now so I'm not noticing them at the moment
