The advantage of the Vredesteins is that they are an all season tyre (the majority of the tyres in the UK market are classified as summer tyres - as a country, we are very ignorant to winter / all season tyres). Rubber goes harder below 5 degrees and the all season / winter tyres resist this making them great in the majority of Britsh weather! The downside of this is the wear rate, especially when the temperatures start to rise. My advice would be to go for the Falkens, I'll be purchasing a set of these for my Zed after I've finished the Bridgestones off on a track day at the end of the month. Falken are a Japanese brand owned by SRI who used to own Dunlop, so they know what they're doing. I hear very few poor reviews of these tyres.

Thanks all! I'm a muppet with car parts, caused no end of trouble with a Focus I used to own. Decided to paint the calipers bright yellow and it all went wrong from there....!

Hello, I've bought a new wiper blade and tried to remove the old one and it won't budge. I know there's not much travel lifting it away from the rear windscreen, but is it just a case of brute force to unclip the blade from the arm? Thanks

re the weight... never going to be a good starting point platform sharing with the decidedly un-GT Murano!

Wouldn't a lighter flywheel / new clutch give an edge? If it revs more freely that should help acceleration, plus add a filter and better exhaust to help the breathing and a remap and that should make a difference.

Mitz was saying he wants to move away from Zeds and onto battered Polos. The call was to arrange some VAG parts...

Once again Mitz & Andy have been first class, this time I've had a set of spacers fitted. If anyones in doubt I can fully recommend having them fitted.
-
Gunmetalzgt - how are the Falkens? Mitz - really gonna need those spacers soon, pay day's the 25th... can you get the spacers for Sat 24th?
-
Speaking of Scotland & Chippies, I've got a craving to try a battered Mars bar

The spacers make such a difference, when Mitz was sorting my brakes another Zed arrived in the same colour as mine and had the spacers fitted - makes the car look lower without knackering the handling. I'm sure the benefit is only cosmetic - can't imagine the slight difference in track will be noticable JR

I have to admit to an almost sticky situation when I first saw the new GT-R... As for the outdoor - definately regional! The Mrs is from Solihull and uses 'outdoor', no idea of how an offie came to be know as the outdoor.

Cheers Dave Everyday's a school day!

Overtook this in my Grand Vitara (Lake District holiday, off oading, luggage and dog are not Zed compatable!) Are the yellow ones the GT4s?

Guys, I don't know if anyone else has used this place but I'm having some greif! I was trying to change my Bose head unit and popped down there to see if the could do anything, they pomised everything I asked and I paid a hundred quid deposit and booked the car in, when I arrived, one of the parts they'd tried to get was out of stock and the other didn't exist! They didn't even bother to call to say they couldn't do the job and I'd travelled across Birmingham to get there, I kicked off and asked for my deposit back, they said it had to go through their head office, I've now requested my refund twice since and have now had to put it in a dispute with my credit card company. I was wondering if anyone had had similar experiences or could use this as a warning! John

Morning all, I had my first trip to see Mitz & Andy at CS yesterday to have some pads / lines / fluid and a pop charger fitted. I can't reccomend them highly enough - Andy's done a fantastic job fitting the toys and Mitz, well I don't know what he did but it was nice having him there . Mitz took us to Halfords and introduced me to Autosol and had me polishing the exhaust tips whilst the Zed was on the ramp - not a bad job for a pen pusher eh Mitz?! He's got photographic evidence too. Seriously though, Mitz is an expert and I felt totally safe trusting my Zed to him & Andy and if anyone is unsure where in the midlands to go then please take my advice and visit CS!

Thanks all for the input and advice - I'm off to CS on Saturday to have DS2500 pads all around, new fluid and lines. Gutted I can't make the meet as I'll be away!

Hi all, I'm a newbie looking to go to my first meet - is the Wales gig still on? Cheers John

Hello, I had my first ever track day last week at Bedford Autodrome - fantastic place. The Zed didn't miss a beat except for a couple of spells of brake fade. I'm now addicted to life on the track and will be going back on 31st August. I'm going to change the brake fluid to 5.1 as it's less resistant to fade (I'm not expert - can you tell...?) and I need to change my pads as they're on their last legs. I was looking at Endless but they're £175 a pair which seems steep . Can anybody recommend something decent for mainly road use and the occasional track day? Thanks

Hi all, Wondering if anyone's had experience of any of these, looking to replace the standard Bose unit. Cheers John
-
Thanks for all the hints guys, I'm near the city centre but I'm happy to travel to buy one, I've got the best car to get there in of course! I've made so many pointless journies in the last two weeks since I took ownership of my Zed!

Hi all, I've been searching through the existing posts and can't find what I'm looking for... I've got an 06 Zed GT with the birdview satnav and the Bose tapedeck(random) and 6cd autochanger. I've given up trying to find a way of connecting the ipod that doesn't involve FM modulators/transmitters so I though I'd look at changing the Bose system. Can anyone recommend a decent replacement? The boxes that need to be ticked are: --> As mentioned, I've got the birdview so don't want another sat nav in the dash --> I still want to use the steerng wheel controls --> I still want to use the Nissan hands free kit and audio-interrupt function. --> Needs to be Ipod (iphone) compatable. I'd like something like the Kenwood DDX5024 but it doesn't seem to be compatable. Any help/direction or advise is greatly received! John

Hi all, I'm a week-long Zed owner and I've been reading about the pop chargers and K&N filters and I've decided I want the noise rather than the purity so a pop charger it is! My questions are: Can anyone recommend a decent supplier/fitter in the Birmingham area? What sort of price is fair? Many Thanks John

I'm in love. Picked the car up on Monday evening and I don't want it to leave my sight! It's so easy to trundle to/from work but so much fun when I put my foot down! The noise - fantastic, gonna get one of those pop charger things fitted and I need to find a way of getting my iphone to talk to the bose unit, the handsfree's great but need a way of sorting the music out.

It's Monday, 7 and half hours until Zed O'clock, hardly slept all weekend, feel like a kid before Christmas, got the insurance sorted, only £140 more than the Golf I'm part-exing. I'm at work just wishing the time away. Come on 6pm!!

I'm getting anxious now, awaiting the phone call from the dealer to say it's ready - I'd asked for a stone chip in the front bumper to be touched up and the 4-wheel aligment to be checked / adjusted as the rear tyres were wearing on the insides. The Golf GT was emptied last night and all I can think about is Zed ownership!
