  1. I had expected more interest in these, if i don't get enough interest, i wont bother with importing more, however if you want to see one in action, i will be at Japbash this Sunday
  2. Do you know anyone with a blazt cable and NDS software, you could get them to run a cylinder power test which will help rule out the coils, as if a coil is faulty there wont be complete combustion on that cylinder, so it should in theory show it up.
  3. Just heard from Martin, and there is in fact a very good reason why he hasn't been in contact, the poor fella has been quite ill, and has been and still is in hospital, so I'm sure all here will join me in wishing him a speedy recovery.
  4. The trouble with getting water into the headlight, is that because of the position of the HID ballast, it quite often results in water killing the unit, believe me it happened to my 350GT, same ballast position.
  5. I agree, however there is one way that i think would work, get yourself a spare plenum top, find a friendly engineering shop and ask them to mill the top of to the right hight
  6. Now the first batch are with there respective owners, and everyone is happy, i will see just how much interest there is and look into importing another batch, the last lot took a while to arrive, due to the way they where sent, now the bugs are ironed out so to speak, things should be quicker Anyone genuinely interested in purchasing one please post here, i cannot grantee that the price will be exactly the same as the last lot due to fluctuating exchange rates etc, and it also depends on numbers, but i will try and keep it similar.
  7. Couple of quick videos of the ECU datascan working, just to give you the idea of how they work and what the display is like.
  8. I am glad to say that the spacers finally tuned up today, posted yesterday, not heard from Martin so not sure if hes having some problems.
  9. Thanks Alex, the last email i had from him was last Thursday/Friday morning when he told me he they where being collected for sending, he did say he had a bug most of that week and had only just felt better, hopefully hes not taken a turn for the worse.
  10. Anyone heard from him lately? i ordered and paid for a set of four spacers from him over two weeks ago, he then told me that they where not in stock so more had been made, and had been posted/couriered out to me last Friday, still no show, and i have sent a couple of emails, but no reply.
  11. Sorry but this batch is now all spoken for, but will be ordering more shortly.
  12. thats why I posted, it did look like that, it made out that there was no need for a plenum spacer so clarification I thought was helpful I realised that and had a re read of my posts, hence my statement, it was more the weak mixture on the front cylinders as std and the thermal stuff that i was disputing, fitting a spacer on its own will result in improved airflow no doubt about it, and because of that, a resulting increase in torque, but it does need a remap to make the most of it, sorry for the confusion
  13. If your trying to determine whether to go for a short or long indication kit, have a read of the temperature results i logged over on the Japspeed induction kit thread
  14. Please don't get the idea from my little rant that i don't think the addition of a plenum spacer is a worthwhile mod along with a remap, because it is, its just the other misconceptions that i was trying to illustrate.
  15. New video of use with Link ECU added to first page.
  16. First page now updated with OBD2 support. And from the info i have now received, it indicates that all OBD2 should be supported, and as it mentions that BMW is supported, the German's favor using the same protocols.
  17. As i said in the post above its more the cable interface that determines just which ECU it can communicate with, but i will check and keep you all posted.
  18. Thats one of the ECUs i am awaiting confirmation of, but i can't see why not. Do you mean Consult 3? then i would have thought so as the R35 uses this, as OBD3 is not actually being used yet, 2012 i think, and by the looks of it reading it will be the least of our worries if the hype is to be believed, i have heard it will be GPS and wireless enabled, so it can inform big brother that your lambda sensor is not working probably, next thing you know i ticket comes through the door scary stuff! Thats another bit of confirmation i am waiting for, i know it does the pre 06 Scoobys, the unit is designed to handle most protocol's as i understand it, its just the ongoing development of the interface cables that has to catch up.
  19. I should probably add, this is not a group buy as such, in that i will be covering the costs with my own money, i am not asking for deposits etc, all i require is enough interest and confirmed orders, so i can order the correct cable for the application. I am still collecting application info, and will update this thread when i am 100% sure exactly which models are covered, i can say that the 370Z is not yet tested, but expected to work, as does the R35.
  20. The size is 124x86x20mm So i would have thought so, but as i have a 350GT unfortunately i can't check. Surprised there is not more interest, i have seen countless posts asking about code readers and displays, and this covers all the bases and more, single gauge for everything, with warnings, it easily out guns things like the Greddy info meter, and blows the scan gauge into the weeds.
  21. OK i have the opportunity to buy a very limited quantity of these very clever units, so i am gauging overall interest, with the possibility of being able to supply these on a larger quantity basis. They are a colour touch screen ECU monitor and much more! size is 124x86x20mm and they will connect and be powered by the Nissan consult port, and OBD1 and 2, and also support CAN, they will connect with pretty much all Nissans from 92 on, and when i receive more info, and more makes supported to come. (UPDATE!) The cable does virtually anything that is OBDII. It has been tested on BMWs, Mazdas, Mitsis, Nissan, Subarus, and a whole heap more. Plus this unit will also interface with a limited amount of aftermarket stand alone ECUs (list to follow) ..... Adaptronic, Autronic, Link, EMS and ViPec ECUs They will display all available engine parameter's (dependent on interface) on a variety of selectable screen configurations, they can also display and delete ECU error codes, If anyone is familiar with Nissan Data Scan they pretty much do all that it can do without a laptop in the car, and this includes data logging to an SD card. The screen configuration is completely customisable, and has a selection of different screen/display modes, and from what i remember up to nine gauges at once, there is also the ability to configure your own warning setting for each gauge, so as i see it, this can pretty much eliminate all the other gauges that are cluttering up your cabin. But wait there is more, these units can also support GPS software,IGo (not included) but you can add your own, it can also run overlays of, and GPS of track position with various track maps via Google earth, and record lap times etc., can’t confirm for sure but i think it has its own dyno/0-60 function. Yet more still, it can also play MP3 and MP4 video, and has an stereo jack output that you can run to your head unit too. You have to agree that there is very little that these units wont do, now i am still in the process of trying to finalise details and pricing, obviously it all depends on lots of factors like shipping, duty etc. etc., but i am hoping to get them priced at around £340 and possibly less, but as i said there are still a lot of variables involved, if i can get the interest/initial sales i can work on pricing, however IMO this is the perfect multi gauge with bonuses! Think how much you pay for say a Defi set up or Greddy Infomeater and similar, but this does' so much more! More info to follow. Please state if you are genuinly interested in this, and what model its for. Video of use with Link ECU.
  22. +1 we have a JWT which is largely popular and good quality - the throttle body was still filthy when I took the plenum off.......imagine the crud a crappy filter would let through. The throttle body being dirty and sooty has nothing to do with the filter, its the PCV system that causes that.
  23. Personally i don't think power is an issue with most aftermarket induction kits, as discussed a thousand time before the is very little, if any to be gained, and most figures are unsubstantiated, most should (unless very badly designed) flow about the same as the std intake anyway, IMO what does have an impact, is how much they allow the intake charge to be heated up on its way in, the lower the better, which was my previous point, all the ones that are short and place the filter element within the engine bay proper, and thats quite a few, are very likely to allow far to much temperature gain to the intake charge, unless thy have a dedicated and sealed cold air feed from the outside of the car, and thats not many. However i do agree about some of the filters attached, although in reality unless they are the coarse foam or fine mesh type, they all should provide adequate filtering, all be it to a slightly larger particle size than the std one. In terms of value for money v function, i just think that the japspeed design is a good buy, when compared to a lot of other induction kits.
  24. Interesting! and again i suspect that it just a case of "oh! these are cheap so must be rubbish" attitude, i wonder how many have actually fitted them and tested, rather than listened to the general hype based hear say? I have the long version fitted to my 350GT Skyline, now it may be a case of i may have a little more room in the front, but I'm not sure, however i have trimmed mine to place the filter element so its just above the side air intake, and I'm sure this can be done with the Z, anyway i have been quite happy with this for the last year, But recently someone on the 350GT section of the Skyline board asked what my intake temps where like, so i did some logs with NDS, and the results even surprised me, on a day where the ambient temp was 21-22c my average temps on the move where 25-26c so only 4-5c over ambient. To me that pretty dam good no matter how you look at it. Now i hear the doubters chime in with "what about the flow restrictions, well IMO there are non as the joins butt to each other and cause no change in diameter, so to me if your trying to decide whether to to blow £250 odd on some hyped up piece of shiny tube that maybe gets you an unsubstantiated 4-7 bhp, think on.
