  1. Just out of interest, has anybody ever had a std car remapped? be quite interested to see just how it could be improved without a big outlay.
  2. Unfortunately I no longer have the software to view the data logs, all I could find was an O2 log that is from a fairly hard drive, its scaled by TPS v AFM but you get an idea of AFRs, as you can see it doesn't run ideal power AFRs until its at fairly high load.
  3. The trouble with noises in cars, is its very hard to pinpoint them, I have seen so many different causes of a noise that the driver is certain its only coming from the rear of the car, if you then ask the passenger he will say its coming from somewhere completely different, so yes its completely possible.
  4. Another one that irritates, and I see often on forums, is when somebody makes a play on words and has to add "see what I did there" when its plainly obvious .
  5. I also find the current Bank add "Life skills" on TV very worrying, makes me wonder just what they are being taught at school, the fact that they have to point out the difference between applying for a job and writing on faceache is particularly disturbing.
  6. Have you checked the prop shaft center bearing, and the main diff input shaft bearing?
  7. Modern speech is degrading very quickly, don't get me started...I detest text speak along with the media using whats deemed to be more modern speech and phrases, and in particular changing traditional pronunciation of place names and certain words.
  8. LOL! and the decent into chaos has started......anyway being a skeptical bugger, I cant help but wonder if writers like JR Tolkien and JJ Rowling where around at the same time we might be praying to Bilbo Baggins or Harry Potter.
  9. I did run a twin wide-band setup on my car, and with with datalogging via ECU data-scan, I will see if I still have any logs.
  10. I too have experience in mapping, mostly turbo cars, but I talked to Mark when I was considering buying the Up-rev software to map myself (but decided not to bother in the end) but I was never clear on just how the std ECU is able to prevent making extra power from more airflow, I do know it uses comparator maps and the threshold's within to accomplish the changes, but I am not sure how, The problem I see is that quite how the fueling can be changed when extra air is seen, as unless the fueling is allowed to weaken with the extra airflow, which is not healthy for the engine, retarding timing is also not ideal, the only other thing I can think of is that the ECU is able to manipulate the lambda feedback voltage
  11. Corresponding part numbers for one and check they are indeed cat monitors and not primary O2 sensors.
  12. Double check they are correct, as the rear sensors use a different feedback frequency, as they are purely to monitor the condition of the cats, and have no input into the O2 feedback for the ECU.
  13. Regardless of its origins or validity, I thought it was rather funny, and though others might too, I certainly haven't seen it before.
  14. Just received this from a friend, and though it quite funny, you may need to be a bit older to fully appreciate the humor though. ALERTS TO THREATS IN EUROPE From JOHN CLEESE The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent events in Syria and have therefore raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved." Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross." The English have not been "A Bit Cross" since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies nearly ran out. Terrorists have been re-categorized from "Tiresome" to "A Bloody Nuisance." The last time the British issued a "Bloody Nuisance" warning level was in 1588, when threatened by the Spanish Armada. The Scots have raised their threat level from "pi**ed Off" to "Let's get the Bastards." They don't have any other levels. This is the reason they have been used on the front line of the British army for the last 300 years. The French government announced yesterday that it has raised its terror alert level from "Run" to "Hide." The only two higher levels in France are "Collaborate" and "Surrender." The rise was precipitated by a recent fire that destroyed France 's white flag factory, effectively paralyzing the country's military capability. Italy has increased the alert level from "Shout Loudly and Excitedly" to "Elaborate Military Posturing." Two more levels remain: "Ineffective Combat Operations" and "Change Sides." The Germans have increased their alert state from "Disdainful Arrogance" to "Dress in Uniform and Sing Marching Songs." They also have two higher levels: "Invade a Neighbour" and "Lose." Belgians, on the other hand, are all on holiday as usual; the only threat they are worried about is NATO pulling out of Brussels . The Spanish are all excited to see their new submarines ready to deploy. These beautifully designed subs have glass bottoms so the new Spanish navy can get a really good look at the old Spanish navy. Australia , meanwhile, has raised its security level from "No worries" to "She'll be right, Mate." Two more escalation levels remain: "Crikey! I think we'll need to cancel the barbie this weekend!" and "The barbie is cancelled." So far no situation has ever warranted use of the last final escalation level. Regards, John Cleese , British writer, actor and tall person And as a final thought - Greece is collapsing, the Iranians are getting aggressive, and Rome is in disarray. Welcome back to 430 BC
  15. Well you can see by my avatar that I am obviously an atheist...........
  16. Yeah its always annoying to look back over you past pics and then see you took a better pic two years ago with an older body and a kit lens.
  17. I think bringing religion up in any discussion is always going to ring somebody's bell. No pun intended!
  18. LOL! I suspect it would be much the same where I live now, but as newcomers of just 2.5 years I think we are looked on with some suspicion, I'm told it takes around 20 years to be completely excepted LOL!
  19. And we are back full circle to Atheism V Religion, and I think one of the gif I used is ringing true.
  20. My answer would be I have only myself to blame, as unless I am physically unable I would be doing it myself, but if I was badly overcharged I would be having words with said trader and wouldn't have too much of a problem making it known on a forum.
  21. Don't shoot me, I did a search for the subject and found these rather amusing.
  22. No mate because they are a dished fitting and can only be fitted one way.
  23. I have those lenses, but I sold a 350d body and bought a 550d body, I also sold my 17-70f2.6 but kind of regret it now as the difference between that and the f3.5 is quite a lot, and although I now have plenty of ISO I seldom use it, but then I don't really do a lot of low light.
