  1. Wonder what kind of Z he was working on for the other 13 years!
  2. Does it have to be std? Eibach are still able to be used with stock settings, but have extended range if you need it.
  3. LOL! Both! I miss the days when you could replace relatively simple parts to cure a fault, rather than having to replace a complete module to fix the same fault with a cost of hundreds, instead of tens of pounds.
  4. Just because it has a cracked disc, doesn't necessarily mean that its had a hard life. By the look of it it could easily be from a stress mark in the casting, if it was due to disc's getting very hot, it would likely have lots of small cracks, even so its not a great cause for concern.
  5. BCM also controls hazards....oh for the good old (cheap) indicator relay.
  6. Could easily be a cracked disc by the way it looks on the pic, however once you can check it yourself, it will be another bargaining tool, its easy to replace a pair of disc's, and if you factor in the charges you could argue that its going to cost a good £300 for parts and labor.
  7. I think you have answered your own question there, battery's have a harder time when the temps are down.
  8. Nope, it's sensor 2 that is post cat. Sensor 1 Bank 1= Driver side Sensor 1 Bank 2 = passenger side Thought I saw sensor 2 there earlier, oh well we all make mistakes.
  9. I was just looking at your build thread, and found the pic, that looks suspiciously like a cheap ebay FPR, please don't use this! they are mostly rubbish and don't keep constant pressures, so could lead to killing your motor, invest in a decent known make like Aeromotive or similar, and these will have proper AN fittings anyway.
  10. I would say that if its an aftermarket FPR then its unlikely to be as small as 1/4NPT, it needs to be bigger than that, fuel flow would be impaired if it was, the bolt idea is good if you have a decent selection, I would suspect that its more like 8 or 10mm at minimum, what make is the FPR? and have you a pic?
  11. I did say IF the existing thread is 1/4NPT, you first need to get a thread gauge, that way you will know for sure what TPI it is, and if it measures at 1/4 and not a metric size which I suspect it is, once you know this, you just have to match the converter size with whatever AN size you need for your fuel lines.
  12. Your problem is that if its 1/4NPT thread is 18TPI closest AN size is -4 and the thread is 20TPI, the difference between them is 2 TPI (teeth per inch) that's why its locking up, you will need an NPT to AN converter, there are company's that sell AN fittings and adapters on ebay.
  13. NPT threads are tapered, you will probably need an adapter/converter. NPT data here, http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/npt-national-pipe-taper-threads-d_750.html AN to NPT, http://www.aircoolednut.com/erkson/ttt/AN-NPT_thread_sizes.jpg
  14. Was the clutch pedal re adjusted when the clutch was fitted? could simply be that as the clutch has settled the pedal bite point is now different and causing the problem.
  15. Ignition timing is retarded, however it could just be a response to another condition, IE stretched timing chain causing spurious reading s from cam sensors, if the scale for AFM was in voltage I could tell you if it was correct, its also pointless checking bank 2 O2 sensors as they are only cat monitors and don't effect fuelling.
  16. Cats need to be pretty hot before they will work efficiently, which really means a decent spirited run before MOT, otherwise even when held at high engine speeds when stationary they can sometimes be too high to pass.
  17. 20 mpg around town is good, mine only got 17!
  18. This. Everyone's different. I can't believe people who waste their time watching *insert inane ball related sports or similar here*. LOL! this! I guess you can accuse everybody of being sad for their chosen likes/hobbies,i must admit I would like some of the money back that I have spent on cars and bikes over the years.
  19. I replied to your post on this over on the Skyline forum fella.
  20. Lip/duck tail subtlety all day long.
  21. There is no definitive answer to this, there are too many variables involved, on paper you just need to compare cars with similar power and torque curves, and similar weight, that's it, and as already mentioned with higher powers cars its only really noticeable at higher speeds than are allowed on out roads, Its traction that is the defining factor at lower speeds.
  22. Just use a switch and fuse from the cig lighter, everything else is either a pain or l=tied into the CANbus.
  23. Top up the washer bottle, and then pull of the washer tube connections under the bonnet and test, if there is no fluid or its very slow then its worth checking for a blocked filter inside the washer bottle before proceeding to replace the pump.
  24. Took the wife to the hospital yesterday to have exactly the same thing done in both hips.
