  1. Is it a fast or slow ticking? posting a video would be a good idea.
  2. Not really hard...but not easy either, have a look here, http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/50287-how-to-adjust-clutch-pedal/page__st__40#entry1163127
  3. You can run the engine without these, you will have a constant CEL, I ran mine without, as I had wide-bands fitted, And I could live monitor all engine functions via ECU data-scan so I would know if any other CELs appeared, so it could be a pain having CEL on all the time
  4. Sorry but thats incorrect, the cat monitor lambdas are exactly the same apart from there response time is much slower than the ones used for O2 feedback to the ECU to control fuelling, the cat O2 are not used.
  5. If they are the correct part number for the engine then they will be gaped correctly. Iridium plugs can be re-gaped but unless you know how I wouldn't advise it.
  6. Which ones have been cut, the front or rear cat sensors? if its the rear cat sensors it wont effect the running, I would suspect the either they when faulty or the cats are going and it threw a CEL, so they cut them hoping that it would cancel the CEL derrr!
  7. I suspect its just running very low boost, it would need to be running decent rods and forged pistons with lower compression to able to take full advantage of the compound setup, and then it should shift pretty well.
  8. Doesn't look that quick to me, especially for a compound charged motor.
  9. I would say any in line fuel damper intended for a similar system pressure would work, I think the main problem is because Nissan created an economy system by not having a return circuit, OK a lot of return systems also run a damper but the FPR seems to remove most of the noise from them, whereas the damper gets all the feedback pulses from both the pump and the injectors, so no wonder it gets noisy.
  10. Err don't use a towel it will restrict the airflow and mess with the readings.
  11. How much has It been lowered? you will need an adjustable radius rods, it being pulled forward because of the lowering, however 50mm is rather a lot.
  12. Apart from no 4 being fooked, none of the readings are up to minimum spec, so no wonder its smoking, Did you make sure you used a fully charged battery, removed all plugs, throttle wide open and use the same number of turns, at least 6 per cylinder.
  13. Engine flush wont help if its down to a gasket leaking, in fact I would avoid using a flush if you have low oil pressure, whats you oil pressure at 2K RPM?
  14. If that was Russia there would be a ladder on each side and a pile of bricks on the roof.
  15. Its the daft camber that has to be the most odd......
  16. No the cat monitor O2 sensor is only used under certain circumstances and is not used during normal running, they can actually be removed with no detrimental effects, mine ran fine without them as I swapped mine out for wide band monitors.
  17. A Japanese hot rod.........or is it
  18. LOL I said nothing about brickies tools!
  19. From the glass house, Personal opinion only, I was not the one who started a thread telling people how to define a hot rod, I also cant be bothered going back through this thread to find things that I can throw back at people in an effort to bolster my own arguments and opinions, and discredit others opinions. Some of this thread was interesting, but now its become more of an argument about scoring points, and no longer serves any constructive purpose.
  20. To me a hot rod is a certain style from a certain era, the fact that the practice is carried on today by shops rather than individual's matters not, the world has change also. other modified cars hold various other names, some are also called hot rods, but to me they are not, like I said everybody will hold a different opinion, the only problem I have is when somebody tries to tell me and everybody else what my perception of a hot rod should be, isn't that whats commonly known as a dictatorship.
  21. Kind of too late now but he should have first taken photos at the time, and also demanded a head office contact, and relayed all the relevant information to them, that way the branch cant jerk you about and come up with all kinds of porkies, unfortunately although the branch was at fault, the OP has put himself in a precarious position by the way he has handled it, but like I said I do wish him luck in getting it sorted.
  22. Had a nasty feeling it might go tits up, I am still confused as to how the management got bypassed, I would have been very suspicious of the fact that an employee was handling the compensation, your problem now is that although it seems a member of the management has said you will be compensated...you have nothing in writing admitting liability, so they could just turn around and deny the whole thing. Good luck though.
  23. As beauty is in the eye of the beholder.......so is a hot rod so whether we all agree on the definition is immaterial.
