  1. If the MG driver was pissing you off the sensible option would have been to pull over or turn off, speeding off is only likely to make him think you want a race or cause others problems.
  2. The simple answer is that fuel octane among other things denotes knock resistance,, so using a fuel with a lower knock resistance when the manufactures specify a higher one is asking for trouble.
  3. Easy to knock one up from a piece of angle stainless that you can get from ebay. Its
  4. His name is not jack by any chance, is it?
  5. How old is it? I doubt it would be cable unless it was pre 80s.
  6. When you say failed, I presume you mean slipping badly, at a guess I would say the bite point has been previously changed at the pedal/master cylinder interface to accommodate a worn clutch plate, and then the new friction plate has been fitted and the bite point not re adjusted, so keeping the slave in affect open and stopping the friction plate making proper contact, resulting in chronic slip, failing that the clutch has been fitted incorrectly...wasent fitted by a Halfords monkey was it?
  7. No mate it wont cause any problems if you don't remap.
  8. Is satellite broadband a better option then? I know in heavy rain I can loose my satellite signal on some weaker channels.
  9. The trouble is you wont get anywhere with BT, (edit: actually its pretty much the same with all of the providers, the ones that rent the connection just pass the buck) it took us over a year to get to the point where they replaced our line, and kept threatening to charge us £150 if the engineer couldn't find a fault to try and put us off.
  10. LOL! When I moved three years ago from the south coast to rural Norfolk, Well three miles from Kings Lynn, we had at our old place a speed of 4 to 5mbs, so we where quite pleased wen we got 7 mbs, but after a fight with BT over a bad phone connection, an engineer replaced the line from the pole to the house socket, and also switched the exchange line and the result was 10 mbs. But at the beginning of this year they fitted fiber lines from the exchange to the main box, so now we are with Talk Talk and pay half of BT prices and get 37.5 mbs.
  11. I did a little write up to explain the use of catch cans and how the PCV system works here. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/89535-oil-catch-can/#entry1349925
  12. No! it would have no impact on this.
  13. It will either be a faulty lambda sensor, or a faulty ECU coolant temp sensor, both of which will cause a default rich mixture, but you should be seeing a fault code.
  14. LOL! I was trying to be diplomatic.......but yes my first heading was going to be "Hideous blue kitted Z" Sorry couldn't find another thread.
  15. In theory with modern oils it shouldn't cause damage, however when the oil doesn't reach at least 100C on a regular basis what happens is you get a build up of water and and corrosive deposits as a result of the combustion process, which because the oil doesn't reach operating temps will not always be processed/made more inert by the oil as its designed to do, which is why I advised you to change the oil more often.
  16. No its because the oil is never reaching normal running temps, so you will get lots of water vapor building up. I would also be changing the oil much more often.
  17. Well the engine is never going to warm up properly in 1 mile so clearances are never going to be at the normal/optimal operating sizes, so its likely that this could be the cause of the increased oil consumption.
  18. LOL! makes me feel old, I used to train quite hard 4 nights a week back when I was in my late 30s but I was also working silly hours (own business) so I could never hold any weight, but managed a reasonable shape, but no real bulk, started back doing a mild workout in my 50s and still continue 3 to 4 times a week, although I leave it out in the hot weather IE most of the summer, can still get away with a tank top, although I am starting to get a bit of a belly now at 63, I just stick mostly to upper body, dips, sit ups with weights, press-ups, incline and flat pull ups and dumbbells for arm work do a few squats but my knees are fooked (arthritis)
  19. As I said if the battery is already giving trouble IE not holding a charge, the first hard frost will see you stranded with a dead battery.
  20. Doe's the std Z have a coded radio then? never seen one with std LOL!
  21. Personally I would be replacing a 7 year old battery, what do you mean by recondition charge, if its not holding a charge then it needs changing, if its already playing up you can bet money you will be replacing it as soon as the cold weather arrives, You shouldn't have any issues with the alarm or anything else.
  22. Have you considered how long it would last before getting shiny from the grease from your hands.
  23. Great garage space you got there....just begging for a project.
