  1. probably, same on my 172 not to be touched until 150k miles
  2. Congrats, although I always thought you was for some reason?
  3. I agree hence the 100w bulbs, the 172 has xenons which are a million times better than the 350z's but when people are driving towards you with their beams on 1 flash of these lights and they switch their beams off straight away. I flashed police with the lights (to let them past/through) and they never pulled me or said anything but thats cos they hi beam and not dipped. Stupid crappy cheap badly fitted misaligned retro fitted hid's pee me off the most.
  4. Exactly mate IMO if you want an out in out sports car then a manual or maybe not a 350, but if your stuck in traffic and its your daily driver that 0.5 second slower on the upshift wont bother you. I love the auto as its just a joy to drive daily. I would probably get annoyed with a manual when im coming home tired. Its also abit point and squirt which is nice.
  5. Disagree not just because I have a trip. The zed is lovely auto as if your using it as the daily it's perfect. The low down grunt means it's effortless and when you want to make progress sport mode is great. Boot the accelerator and away you go. I say the large torque zed is ideal for a sports auto then say an s2k. The s2k would make an awful auto as it comes alive much higher up(honestly not a dig rich) just the nature of the beast. That's why the s2k is very involving I suppose. The triptronic is also great when your on the b roads or on track. Flick it to go up or down and it's sequential once you get used to it, it's great.
  6. I know it's not the same but I have 100w h7 high beams in my 172 and there is no problem after long use.
  7. No fuel filter in the 350
  8. Well rb26's are decent and im sure you know can run big power but it costs abit to get them running realiably at that power. 2jz's are wicked and can handle about 800-1200bhp on standard internals, but they are heavy and expensive to buy and converting to a single turbo isnt that cheap. LS2 is a good shout if you want to stay n/a with the possiblity of going FI in the future. All depends what you want the car for
  9. Any reason to use a sr20 when surely an rb25/26 would fit, or do you have more experiance on the sr20's?
  10. They are a bit of a pain to fit, cutting and so on and Coops couldnt get the fit perfect. So I think he gave up on them.
  11. +1 ATE is pretty good stuff.
  12. +1 usually the adapters look like spacers with a different bolt pattern. I looked at them as I wanted M3 CSL wheels on my car. The adapters usually are 20mm to clear the oem bolts so it brings the offsets down.
  13. *Boxster Wouldn't have worked with a 911, engine is in the wrong place. Like the numerous MR2 Ferrari/Lambo replicas, I can appreciate them for their immense craftsmanship but the second you put the actual badges on there it drops straight into the 'Trying Too Hard' pile for me. Leave the original Toyota (or in this case Porsche) badges on there and it's actually quite a comedic little thing. Did you try the boxster before the 911? There are some people with mad speced 987's touching 50 odd k swearing they are much better than a 911. Also people have put the c2s engine in the boxster and say the chasis handles it better than the 911
  14. highly unlikely he knows me and even if he does - completely different departments from a different base location - Fife council is HUGE Cor you lot are such a load of conspiracy theorists Ahh I didnt know you worked for fife council lol , thats my advise out of the window . Best bet would be to try and get it sorted internaly.
  15. Big thaw here, last week was -14 and an average of -7 and now its +7 wth? Some huge potholes have sprung up.
  16. Its cold, car might not reach optimal temp so be pumping more fuel in. Also a car uses about 7% more fuel at 0c then at 10c.
  17. ooh be sure to post a fll report on them , pretty sure alot of us would be interested in your thoughts on cost etc for manifolds. Will do but not cheap £420 plus about 10 hours fitting IMO better off with some dc copies like the db power. They are £250 ( I bought both) and they look decent enough quailty.
  18. Bent far enough to rupture the edge and create a hole. Bloody hell good job it's just the wheel.
  19. A member on here attended meets and sold bits and pieces to people on here. I paid a deposit of £100 he has now left the country. Im £100 poorer whats your point? Not being funny with you mate im really not but just pointing out it can, will and has happened hence the rules.
  20. TBH Vik I would take it to the highest person you can and claim it has rusted your car, marred your paint work and covered your brakes so put yours and other people lives in danger. You should write a very stern letter to complain and get compensation or something done about this. If they dont want to do anything about it report it to the police as vandalism to your property and and endangering your life and others because of the grit in the brakes.
  21. I have a japspeed k2, japspeed y pipe, hfc and its only loud if you are over 3k or more than 4/10s on the throttle. I also just got some dc sports manifolds fitted so Im not sure how loud it will be when I get the car back.
  22. polo by another name, leon is the golf. Lupo 1.7sdi for super cheap motoring aswell but they are more than 1k.
  23. I personally would be weary of the 1.1 as they aren't known for doing big miles. They are a few seconds faster to 60 but they only get about 40 odd mpg. Motorway driving also kills them with high revs. My mate had 2 of them both scrapped hence why my reluctance to recommend them but this one might be different and it's your choice
