  1. Should have gone to Spacksavers I still don't get this comment? I know I'm being stupid somehow but can someone point it out?

    Chav's

I think chav is a mental state. I know plenty of people who looks like chavs but are honest good people and on the other hand I know middle class well paid people who really are just minks.
  3. Don't worry mate they are all grumps
  4. No one in the world has ever called a v6 a 255. Never. You mean apart from me, just then. I don't see why they wouldn't, tbh. Surely it's an easier way of differentiating between the two phases, like how we say we own a 350Z 276 or whatever. What is the general term to refer to that car then? Generally you have the 172 and 172 cup. Ph1 and ph2 which are both mk2. Then you have a 182, 182 cup and 182 with cup pack which im sure us referred to as a 182FF full fat. V6 is always called v6 ph1 or ph2. Ph1 172 because they are slightly faster due to weight are sometimes called ph quick. I still don't get what doogy meant by I need to go specsavers?
  5. I think your reading that wrong. A fully charged battery is usually about 12.6-12.8v. Only once the car is running with the alternator will it go up to 14.4v. Also you should go on the voltage of when a load is added e.g. cranked. I'd check all the fuses going to the battery and the fuse boxes too. Usually foot to the floor when starting helps to clear out the engine.

    Chav's

Not what it means round your neck of the woods. I think a chav (chavvie) daaaaaan saaaaafff is a young kid. Up north is a hoodie wearing member of the underclass who will usually be equipt with a cheap bag of weed, track suit, probably a very blunt knife from his mums kitchen draw and a truly horrendous STI riddled 'Julie' on his arm. They will usually be sporting the local ner do well accent regardless of where they live. For example a chav from chester will have a plastic scouse accent. They are cretins of the first order. Read the thread title again. Now give yourself a massive whoosh parrot. Dan over time I've really grown to like you.......but grammar nazis are twats........third dan twats of the great order of twuntdom Don't say that some grammar nazis who are twats might take offence
  7. Waits for ekonas better than you, im perfect response which he will probably now deny...
  8. No one in the world has ever called a v6 a 255. Never. I love megane's and I always wanted one but the mpg's put me off slightly. A remap and other cheap mods and it will be faster than the Z!
  9. When would this be happening?
  10. Ahh,I live in Dundee, work in Arbroath. Used to have friends in Carsnooty lol. I'd just say test drive one before committing to buy one. Trust me it will be ALOT slower than your mr2. It weighs about 400kg more and has less power. Plus turbo/supercharging the car is still pretty expensive. BUT i know how slow the Z is but it puts a smile on my face whenever driving and feels good to drive IMO.
  11. Your still a member on here, don't worry we have any problems :p
  12. I've never understood why people love alfas. They suck and they are slow and fwd barges? Any particular reason you want to get one? e.g. xkr is a jag, v8, large displacement and supercharged so thats 4 things that are desirable.
  13. Good job! Depending on how my mot goes I may be up for this. It's in Leeds Im sure.
  14. Hi mate, Where abouts out of dundee? 1. VQ denotes it always been a Nissan engine but it has been used in renaults in different tunes but really who cares. There is 3 different versions 276, 296, 313. The 276 and 313 are regarded as the most bulletproof and easiest to mod. 2. Buy on condition not miles. Clicking axles or sloppy suspension isn't good. 3. Again buy on condition not miles. The engines are generally strong but check gearbox, clutch etc. A well cared 100k is better than a hammered 50k car. 4. Generally reliable, 9k service interval on motorway 28-30mpg and around town 18-24mpg. I would say drive one first they are alot slower than what you think.
  15. It's your choice but from the reading ive done it wont make a difference. I'm sure z1 uses one on their n/a build.
  16. I've got an old scissor jack I use to get it just high enough so I can get the trolley jack in.
  17. if you lose pressure you would know about it.
  18. There is no way you had an ep3 before. Anyone who has owned a Honda know miles mean nothing!
  19. Durametric won't give you overrevs, you need the PIWIS for that and buying that is a bit pricier I wouldn't trust PCGB as far as I can throw them with regards to backing someone on overrevs, so definitely get a readout before you take delivery of ANY manual car from any dealer, OPC or otherwise. I was only kidding about buying a demo, it wouldn't put me off at all. A press car may be a different matter, mind you... I'm sure I can check over revs etc etc with durametric on a 986. I'll double check.
