  1. Forte or Wynns amongs other people do them. Apparently diesel works too. I personally wouldnt bother as there is cons to flushing too.
  2. Thankyou Daood - but I've got zero intention of a BMW now - straight away the insurance group is back up at at least 15+. I know how good the grunt is in the 3L diesels though - my Dad's currently in a 535d and I've driven a few over the years I drove another SAAB 9-3 diesel today - identical to yesterdays but much better response and handling which confirms yesterday's was a bit of a turkey... but todays was minging inside - I mean stinking no worries Why do people sell dirty cars its not a good omen is it.
  3. Ive got a 330d touring if you want a shot?
  4. More likely than not. Im still convinced its something electrical because of the speed it goes from fine to broken Il see if I can find anything.
  5. What is wrong with the box? Is it not the TC that needs changing rather than the box?
  6. Its not just the cost. Cams dont work or add any power unless your raising compression and adding head work.

    MREV2???

As wasso said its a DE collector but its been shaved and polished. In the US you can send your lower plenum to them and they will give you $100 back as the mrev2 is made from the oem plenum. So gains can be had but you have to be careful. Maybe its different as your boosted but its all a trade off. Top end versus low end torque.
  8. I told you The C class has awesome balance and really lets you get away with murder. Id love a c63
  9. those 7 series are apparently plagued with problems. do your research and double check them. if you want german V8 i would possibly be looking at the Audi A8 4.2 Quattro. kit level is insane. 4wd for thr snow in winter. and audi build quality. if i needed more back seat space over the jag, this is what i;d be checking out. Audi suck. They cant do better than 3series a4 level. Which 7series an e60 or e38? The 4.4 v8 is a great engine. Whats wrong with it this time? Exact same thing or something else?
  10. you be careful I might take you up on that - dealerships do not take you seriously when you rock up in a beat up eight year old Astra I need something to do the rounds in... Mr T offered me the R35 for the purpose though funnily enough I think he was only joking If you dont mine being seen in it, its yours
  11. Thats knee jerk? Its a massive problem up here TBH. Yes the problem was the trouble maker but asbos and anything else didnt work and they would reoffend. When you look at a bottle of frosty jacks or big beastie, mad dog 50/50, white lightning and the likes its to hammer these drinks. Alot of time and effort is taking to police the streets at this time of night. A&E is full at weekends. 90% of people I have called the police on where drunk. It costs Scotland millions and its a problem that needs to be tackled. Pricing it higher wont do much but the social attitude to drinking needs to change hence why they did it.
  12. The 330d is decent of fuel, tuneable and sounds ok. I wouldnt buy a petrol alfa never mind a diesel one.
  13. Condolences to their families. Scary stuff, being shot for just being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
  14. You can drive mine if you get bored. Its not as mint though
  15. Alot of countries are like that. Import tax is sometimes 100% and above. But usually this promotes growth of a internal car maker or Japanese cars are cheapish imported. Toyota mark X is cheaper than £15k in some countries, new that is.
  16. I don't see any real advantage of having them there but you could as it's a beefy plate.
  17. Im sure the 'ring in Germany is going bankrupt soon too.
  18. Hmm I don't have skinny arms at all
  19. If you want a "nummed" drive or a mile muncher they are great. I think they are a little dull and soulless but that's not always bad and they have their fans.
  20. How short? You will kill these engines if they don't get to temp constantly. Also you have to compare the running costs of the extra of if a turbo brakes and extra premium a diesel commands over the "gained" mpg of a petrol.
  21. Because if your doing 1000+ miles in a week I would want something that does 50mpg or close to it. The diesel engines arent made to replicate the petrol engine, I'd maybe say the opposite. Diesels have powerful (torquey) engines because of turbo's and other clever designs. They are made to make effortless progress as the low rpm's is where the power is. The makes town driving and over taking easy and negates have to constantly change gear. But arguably less fun on the b road but I can still get my kicks.
  22. Yes I fill my dads car up with the diesel, tank size is similar. His does 600-650 to the yellow light. Mine does 350 to the yellow light.
  23. Hi guys, To access the bottom power steering pipe on the cooler do I need to take off the bumper? (I cant remember and I dont have the car with me)
  24. I'm gonna check mine now Glad its a small repair and no one was hurt which is the main thing. Time to invest in a torque wrench?
