I kinda think this is the 2012 350z. Not super powerful or clever just a good car with rwd. Hopefully like the 350z it will be more than the sum of its parts. It has the lowest centre of gravity on a mass production car and I kinda think yes 200bhp isnt alot but I think you would appreciate the car more and drive it more on the edge. grip and power being equal.
  2. Yes but not on their owns cars probably. I would always prefer the seller to do their own diy. They will take more time and effort then garages will. It sounds nice tbh. Just enjoy the car, you would have no guarantees with any other car.
  3. Maybe you havent got close enough to anything or maybe the switch wasnt connecting when in reverse? Does you bumper have 4 little sensors on it? You dont have an import do you?
  4. My ones are past their best too. I just dont want to spray them black though. Maybe pink?
  5. Well, I took my car to Nissan Howden (Brian Leighton Garage) on 14/07/2012. They took photos, and submitted to HQ. Got a phone call today, the claim has been declined. As there is no hole, they won't cover the repair costs. The garage have offered me a repair/respray at £300+vat. As I've got a couple of light scratches here and there, I'm going to get them all touched up too. Blade isnt easy to match. You dont accept it till it looks right.
  6. I was listening to something on radio4. A man was saying that air quality is actually worse now than before. Smog before was visible but with more and more diesels Nox emissions are rising. They can lead to bronchitis and other diseases. So interesting to see where diesels will go. I do agree that diesels can be good but I'd rather a 335i. If I was doing a daily grind and needed max mpg then that's fine but the noise and the revs and so on is more important to me than power/speed. But you can compromise.
  7. A guy I work with bought a 95 aero. It's a 2.3 "hot" but bloody hell it's dull. It's only nippy ok straight lines and is just grey and dreary. A remap should make it more fun though.
  8. He wasn't in front of the car though. If he was facing the bonnet then the couldn't have done much. He stood as the side and put his foot under the car. From the driver seat how could you tell where his foot was. They was both in the wrong though. Why did he get what he deserved? Apparently he was parked in the valet bay so shouldn't have been even been getting a ticket. Jealousy maybe? he got what he deserved because he was a prat. rather than talking to the cop he just thought he could drive off. the cop was OBVIOUSLY in front of the car to stop he driving off. and the bloke knew full well that he would be running the cop over to drive away. it looked like a very nasty gash done the side afterwards. GUTTED!!!!

  11. That "cop" put his foot in front of the wheel Not the best decision.
  12. If Nissan told it me was Monday today I'd check my calender... there is alot of speculation on this and there is 2 camps. 1 that the oem crank pulley is a harmonic damper and it absorbs vibrations. The second and correct theory is that the oem crank pulley is only a heavy piece of metal. Its not got a rubber damper in it as some people say. The crank is internally balanced and a v6 crank is quite short and quite stout. Changing the crank pulley will have little to no effect on the crank. There is a few people running them for 100k miles in the states. I did alot of research before buying them as obviously I wouldnt want to damage anything.
  13. Mark updated his recommendation. The 313hr only have knock control to 5krpm
  14. It does make a difference, car is certainly nippier under 3.5krpm. According to the car I have gained 1 mpg too, But i dont know. The old ones are really really heavy compared to the ams ones and the ams ones arent under driven either. But its always power to £ ratio or £ to grin factor. Exhaust and intakes usually win that but if you do have a couple of hundred quid spare then its a good upgrade. Also belt change will be 30 mins to 1 hour but it took me alot longer to change my pulleys. Mine isnt a manual but even on other cars I have changed pulleys on its alot longer than just the belt change.
  15. but if you said you don't want to spend too much an exhaust will give you more pleasure. If you got the money to burn they are ok. If not then your not going to be losing out on so much power or anything. Generally this is a later mod after exhaust spacer etc
  16. It's gone a bit OT Don't get japspeed stuff. If your going to get pulleys get AMS. They see awesome quality and super light. They also have a steel "collar" to stop main seal leaks or oil coming out from the crank bit. In the kit you get crank alt and idler pulley. I just removed the older pulley to copy 06 engines. You could just replace the pulley you get in the lot but it does nothing. I have a review on them when I'm on the of il send you the link
  17. Gunmetal maybe? but are you serious about 80% of members seem to be from up there Search isn't working but it's good for trying. Try them in google or put them Up here. Enjoy the car I love 6n2's they haven't made a nicer shape since IMO.
  18. Actually I 100% agree when you put it like that. It's all in fun the end puts a smile on my face and theirs so it's all good.
  19. The point the Doc was making is that when people are selling you things they will do it to benifit themselves. Now I've personally doing Abbey to be very good as the Doc has pointed put but not all people are as good. Poor analogy here but if your hungry for fish and chips and you phone up a kebab shop you might end up with a kebab. I've had garages say parts won't fit and when I tried they fit fine. I've been sold things they don't fit my car when I was explicitly sold they would. I just asked the wrong people. Also tuning is a dark art as such some people swear by one thing and not another. Why are they so many different plenum spacer sizes and angles, everyone can prove they are better than the next but sometimes you have to make your own choices. Unless I was getting it fitted by Abbey I wouldn't ring at all personally.
  20. The pulleys don't make a difference on the dyno. Something to do with inertia. Personally I got some AMS pulleys and did a idler pulley delete. I personally think its made a massive difference at sub 3.5krpm to resposiveness and acceleration. It's easy just to jump up 5mph now when driving at 30.
  21. What is the point of them? Don't they spend more time seeing the inside of the washing machine than being on the car All the ones I have seen look like dead rats tied to the bumper, dragging on the tarmac Its just a little bit of fun really. I have scotch guarded my hello kitty. Its sooo cute and people notice the kitteh quickly. Its got a pinky tartan skirt and bow on. They started off as drift charms but IMO its just something funny. I wonder what it looks likes at 70mph Your right about the dragging I used to have a giraffe but i left the cable tie loose so he was always getting wet feet
  22. Why? I love mine, one of the favorite mods to the car
  23. Im sure someone drilled a hole and put a self taper in and this did the same thing.
  24. Most people run super for various reasons but I was told to only ever put 99 or above into an import. I dont think petrol in Japan is alot better than here and even 99 isnt as good as what they have there. My import even by previous owners was run on 99 or the likes.
