Thought it was time to post up some dyno plots for the Uprev mods we can do. Tuned a totally STD UK 350z 276bhp car. Attached are the dyno plots Red is the car as supplied STD Purple is after tuning with the UPREV system. BHP gain of 3/4 bhp thoughout the rev range , smoothed the bhp over 5000rpm no real gain in BHP top end , the base car was a good car gave 250 hub BHP. Torque again 4/5 lb/ft entire rev range more around 5000 to 6000 rpm As well as tuning the Fuel/Ignition/Cams maps we retune the throttle map to allow full throttle at all rpms and raise the speed limiter to 180mph and raise the rev limit by 100rpm. Remember our dyno reads at the hubs, the BHP is measured at the hubs , Torque is again measured at the hubs and then divided by final drive ratio to give a flywheel figure , the car was tuned on the same day. Car was run in 4th gear.Inlet temperature read from the car temperature sensor was at 22 deg centigrade.

Cant be done I am afraid. Turning the ABS off on a 350z puts a load of stuff into limp home. Just turn the traction ( which is rubbish) off , cars are proepr fun then.

No one interested? very suprised, good bit of kit. Mark

Had another play with Andy Mc 350z with the HR motor yesterday on the dyno , fitted a HKS Y -pipe with a few more tweaks managed to find another 10ft torque between 3000 to 5000rpm , no more top end BHP so something must be holding back the breathing at the top end. I will try to get some dyno plot up next week sometime to show what we have managed to gain using the Up Rev set up. Mark -
FOR SALE I have Tein Superstreet suspension kit for a 2003 350Z , only used for 3 months on my own car before I fitted a different kit supplied from another manufacturer. I would like £520-00 inc vat for the kit includes top mounts but it DOESNT come with the EDFC controller. Kit is like new , we can fit the kit and set the car up re suspension angles. I would need to discuss this with the buyer to agree a price. any questions please ask Mark

Dan4 , I have so many people offer me cars , I have a totally std car in 1st then I sort throu the other people have mailed me to work out what is next on the plan. Mark

STD 276BHP early 350Z car on the dyno next week , STD car reflashes should be ready end of next week.

Greekman, have a look at this thread; viewtopic.php?f=25&t=27646

looks like our man did very very well; Have a look at the results; http://www.tsl-timing.com/?loc=club&sea ... ntid=93932 Formula Nippon series , he made very good progress on his lap times , qualified on a 57 got down to 55 in the races. Well done

If you could have a thermal spacer to go between the lower manifold and cylinder head that might help, will stop heat from the motor getting to the inlet set up , but a thermal manifold spacer I dont think will do a lot. Manifold spacer only really helps freeing up the flow to the front 2 cylinders. Mark

Well just been out on the road with a car with a NON std air filter kit fitted , def runs higher than std air box car, but 1 thing the heat soak is real bad, the temp sensor drops quickly but the inlet plenum it self stays warm for ages. In my opinon the STD airbox works very well , will try a car very soon with HKS filters in a STD airbox , but I feel save your money with regards an air filter set up and leave your car STD.

Good thread, good some one has bit the bullet and having a go at racing a Zed. It would be good to read what spec your car is. Give me a ring "Mr Lizard" I am sure I can help you out , mayb a Uprev remap or something like that. Good Luck for the race,s on Sunday. Mark

We have a Up-Rev reflash ready for the HR engined motors , these will cost £345-00 inc vat , includes before and after dyno run. This is for a STD car , we tune the fuel maps, cam duration and remap the throttle opening. We find around 5/8 bhp and 10/15 torque and the car will be a little more economical. We can also provide a valet map within the reflash price. £345-00 inc vat now includes 1 hour dyno time to trim the map to your car. Any questions fire away. Early cars being worked on very soon. No didnt do any logging on the road , as I find it very hard to get the same conditions. But both runs where done in the controlled enviroment in the dyno room, With the STD air box fitted we was seeing inlet temps around 24/25 deg C with the bonnet down , with the Nismo filter kit with the bonnet shut was running around 38/40 deg C and with the Bonnet up it reduced the temp by 3/4 degree,s.

Map switching is only on Gen 2 ECU,s onwards I am afraid for UK cars. All cars with inlet/exhaust variable cam timing have Gen 2 ECU,s Mark -
viewtopic.php?f=25&t=27646 On Andy car when logging ecu inputs we saw 20 degree C difference inlet charge temperature between running the STD air boxes and the Nismo filter kit , even with running the bonnet up there was still a great difference in temperautre between the 2 set up,s. I managed to tweak the map to regain the lost BHP when using the Nismo filters mostly by tweaking the fuel map and cam set up , but if we could keep the inlet temps as low a sthe STD car I would imagime we may well see a few bhp gained , but in my eyes your never keep these filters cold enough when they are bolted in the engine bay. We may well try STD air box fitted with HKS filters to see if this makes any difference. Re Up rev tuning; Reflash is a before and after dyno run. No extra dyno time included . If your car is alot different to what we have a reflash for , you will definitley need a few hours dyno time , this is charged at £85-00 + vat (£97-75 inc vat) We are slowly working through the model range , 1st with stock cars. We will never find massive amounts of BHP from these very well stock tuned cars , but we can nibble at the maps , and help with smoothing the BHP and torque curves out gain a few bhp/torque here and there . If you have other items fitted i.e exhaust, high flow cats or test pipes , plenum spacer and a good set of filters they will give a few more BHP and torque but again not massive amounts. hope this helps. JDM car being converted to have Cruise control , is a major job, ECU change , steering wheel just off of the top of my head. Mods, can we sort out the parts of the thread that is relevant to the HR remap , I then when I find time will have a read throu and answer some questions that have been thrown up. Been doing some working out on prices I think the reflashes will be around £345-00 inc vat , this includes a before and after dyno run. This isnt cast in stone yet but a fair price. Extra time on the dyno will be charged at £97-75 inc vat per hour on the dyno ( VAT @ 15%) say if you car needs a little more work as it has a few different mods than what the reflash has been tuned for. Do you southern boys want a dyno day down our way?

closer one than that, try PJ motorsport. Speak to Paul, tell him I put you in touch. www.pjmotorsportltd.co.uk/preview.htm

Comparing dyno,s will always open a can of worms, even more when you start adding run down BHP to wheel figures to get a "flywheel" figure. Running in different gears will provide a slightly different BHP figure due to the loss in a higher numeric ratio while running in 3rd. Running longe ror shorter runs can give different figures so many variables. Also running the cars loose as in not tied down will give different figures. As the RS tuning man (sorry dont know your name) our figures will be different again as we read at the hubs. Dyno days always end of with people asking questions, before and after on the same dyno under the same conditions is the only way to get a good reading.
-
yes got the PM,s . to busy till October to start looking at doing the re flash maps , will be in contact with everyone when I will start on the project.
-
yeah agree , we have had 10 of the same cars on the dyno, there was a 15bhp difference between these cars. Point is all cars are different.
-
all cars are always different a car with 10,000 miles on the clock will give more bhp than a car with 80,000 miles. So we cant give definite quotes, but your def get an improvement. Have a look at the RS tuning thread , you get an idea of the gains from Up Rev remap ( reflash).

Gains; should give a better spread of mid range torque , increase of top end BHP , better throttle response and a few hundred more rpm at the top end. Mark
