CEL is back! Update: Nissan are a set of monkeys!
Mark@Abbey m/s replied to UNABASHED's topic in 350Z Technical
RS can help you out as they have the Uprev software , you may need to have a remap thou. Other than that I has to be a Nissan dealer, generic OBDII readers doesn't read all the Nissan CEL codes -
Not got a stock car UK at the moment,we have a 350Z UK car that is being repaired as we speak that we will use as a development car , I will try out the idea you have. My JDM car is way past a stock car and will take to long to put back to stock. Will keep you up to speed at what is going on thou. Mark

Most probably. Its just as it joins before the y pipe. as usually its manifold - cats - Y pipe but with the xyz it will be manifold - xyz - cat/decat. Their marketing says the further back the Y is the better the power gains. You mention with the XYZ it would be in the order "exhaust manifold - connected to XYZ - then cat/decat". So does the XYZ pipe replace the two stock cats? No XYZ just fits where the stock Y pipe fits. What we do is remove the stock cats and fit de-cat pipes , then we can use the XYZ pipe and fit a de-cat pipe/silencer/race cats. Very easily to swop over as well. very nice piece of kit. Mark

These are only good again F/I just like the Kinetx manifold. I can't see how anyone can design something that works as good as the stock designed plenum that Nissan must have spent a few quid developing. The spacer/Mrev will help a little because I feel Nissan had to lose a little height from the motor to make it fit under the bonnet/
-
Kinetix SS plenum doesn't work full stop on a N/A car I gain over 10 lb/ft of torque when refitting a stock plenum without a spacer. I will try the spacer below the lower collector as soon as 1 turn,s up. I read the posts tommorrow and answer , good thread boys and girl.

Motordyne make these , we will carry stock if they work. Mark

Agree the cars defintely need a remap , a few figures nee dchanging on the feed back maps and we can tweak the ignition map as well Wouldn't call it girly , just a lot more intelligent than us lot . Re the Mrev on a DE motor , got to be worth a try. But I have some idea,s re tuning these cars; I feel for a Stage1 DE car I would go for the following 06 Airbox with a HKS filter Berks De-cats Motordyne XYZ Y pipe with either silencer or CAT fitted Stock exhaust ( I feel this will flows enough air) UPREV reflash. The above set up I feel with give the most gain ( this will become a package deal from me) Then I would fit headers and possibly a system ( weather your stock system falls aparts or you just want something a little more noisy) and a 5/16 spacer and Ignen filter kit and a map tweak , this I feel will give over 300bhp @ the flywheel with a big gain in mid-range torque.Might be worth try a Mrev on the above kit to see if it is worth trying. Also might be worth trying a lower manifold spacer one of these; http://www.motordyneengineering.com/ima ... cer180.jpg We find lenghtening the intake length will increase torque. Then I feel we really need to get into the motor to get anymore gains if we want to stay N/A or bolt a S/C kit on fit larger injectors/fuel pump and we should see 400bhp flywheel pretty easily. Mark

Yes I have a couple of 06' air boxes , once my UK car is ready to go , I will try one out. But if you have a remap I am sure you get a few more ponies. Reason I ask about number of runs as we find the 1/2nd runs will show a gain then the car will not allow car to run with full map figures i.e timing degree,s figures. You see dyno figures a fair bit down on the 1/2nd runs , your find your need 6/8 runs to get a proper figure on a dyno. Mark

Prices for the Motordyne are attached to this mail; Will keep XYZ pipe sin stock. The expensive Shockwave Ti Dual system comes with a XYZ pipe with a resonator so for a complete system is not a bad price for a top quality system Any questions ask away. Mark
-
MattG, what was the wheel bhp please , and how many runs did you do? Mark
-
XYZ pipe looks really nice , I have one in my office , whats works real well with this items is that you can order it with a decat pipe and also have a cat for MOT purposes , far more easy to swop over than both cats like on a STD cat set up. Also carrying BERKS De-cat pipes in stock now. Mark

We have been in discussion with Motordyne over the last few weeks , we are now able to supply the excellent Motordyne products direct. I am working out retail prices. Hope to have these sorted within 2/3 days, will most probably be just a percentage off of the US price as there is so manyproducts they list, saves me working out every individual price. We will ship these items in bulk so the deals will be as good as we can get, but as a offical limited company we always get caught by the import duty and VAT men. Looking forward to dealing these excellent products. http://www.motordyneengineering.com Hope to have a delivery of parts within the next 2 weeks

Trickle charger connected wrong - big problem??
Mark@Abbey m/s replied to H5's topic in I.C.E & Electronics
1 thing that may work , turns the lights on or turn the interior light on , this will load the battery enough to make the charger work , sometimes helps recover a battery. -
"New Kid, New Kid, New Kid" ...

Good evening , have fun in your new toy. Mark -
Yes your car will still try to retard ignition but it wont shut the throttle like a stock car,so it maybe better than the stock system. We aren,t very far away from being able to remap the stock traction control set up via the UPREV system , the stock JDM cars TC is horrible and the UK cars a little better , I am sure we can make it work real well.,just like it should do
-
Traction uses the stock fly by wire throttle as well as multi cylinder spark cut, Alex I am sure we run your car on a throttle cable so the TC will only be partial working and not very well. All the system you have said about will work very well , to be able to retain TC you have to keep the fly by wire. Haltech keeps the cam control where as the HKS needs another control box to allow cam control and has no closed loop lambda control without extra add on parts , Uprev remaps the stock ecu so you retain all the stock system , CEL light control traction, crusie control. choice is yours, any questions feel free to ask . Morning , 350Z does look good in the dark blue , your other car is pretty awesome as well. welcome to the site. Mark

If the heater is intermitent , I would say you have an air lock , I would try bleeding the system 1st thou , it is a problem with the 350z the cooling system is a little to complicated with water pipes higher than the radiator. Mark
-
so good he said it twice.....LOL Does the heater blow hot or cold air even when on the maximium heat position? May need bleeding if the above is relevant? Mark
-
Has the car got a CEL on all the time? If 1 fan is running it means there is a problem? Mark

Engine fault light is on + VDC OFF + SLIP light
Mark@Abbey m/s replied to will350's topic in 350Z Technical
Sounds more like a throttle problem to throw those lights on. Hopefully the fault wont come back. Would of been good to have known the CEL code thou. -
You can get the alloy cover jubilee clips they look better, it is just the braided hose is hard work to work with , the braided cover un-ravels , causing cut fingers and hands, also the stainless braided covering works like a file when it rubs agaisnt other materials , seen it wear throu alloy casings/radiators etc etc , all need isolating from rubbing anything. Mark
-
but I will, care when I see it.....
-
braided steel lines are good , but only if you use the proper re-usable connections , used with jubilee clips itlooks is pants. I would run the extra return line in high pressure rubber pipe ( fuel injection pipe) , easier to work with less agressive when it is contact with other pipes/wiring. Mark

connection on inside is connected to a black flexi hose that comes from the passenger side of the fuel tank. Only 1 pipe outside the tank that needs fitting. I dont think the pipe inside would fit on the feed pipe 1,the inner pipe is much smaller and 2,it,s not long enough 3, it will get crushed when you bolt the pump back down. hope that helps you must be getting near to run the old girl!!!!!!
