Questions about UpRev for Abbey
Mark@Abbey m/s replied to Mark@Abbey m/s's topic in Abbey Motorsport
Yes I will doa few pulls with stock ECU ROM then upload and tune the Uprev system. I will then lay the stock ECU dyno graph over the tuned graph to see the gains we have found. Bring the car with the normal fuel you use please , I never map the cars to the edge but it is better to be tuned for the lowest Octane rating you might use. Mark -
Car runs closed loop mostly uses the airflow meter to give the base setting then trims via the front O2 sensors. Only wide open throttle is open loop. The car will self tune to the extra air flow but the AFR might not be what the car needs for best power/torque. I presume the ignition reading is a max number not a live reading? reset the ECU and report back your findings. Mark
-
Steve, have you reset the ECU and then driven the car for a few days and recorded what it is triming? I have seen cars running up to 10/12% without any trouble. I think the O2 sensors detoriate over time so they sometimes trim unneccessary, this is one thing we do when we remap the ECU we reset the Injector K value to sync the cars O2 sensors to a known calibrated sensor it does make the car drive better we find.

Mrev's on our should have these in stock within 2 weeks, Jimmy I can do a package deal if your interested.

People that have a Abbey Uprev tune
Mark@Abbey m/s replied to Mark@Abbey m/s's topic in Abbey Motorsport
yep 97 is good for standard cars, we are just sorting a 95 octane map out for these cars thou , so hopefully in 3/4 weeks we will be able to offer a 95 octane map via a postal service ( you send me the ECU I will upload a map and send it back to you) Mark -

Mick, I thought you was running 95 octane fuel? Your okay to run the car on 97 thou. pleased your happy with car after the Uprev tune. -
Oh Mark SS has found this forum........ No honestly they are a good bunch on here SS.

People that have a Abbey Uprev tune
Mark@Abbey m/s replied to Mark@Abbey m/s's topic in Abbey Motorsport
Hi, very strange only 6 people have replied when we have done over a 100 Uprev tunes. come on guys need your feed back. Mark -
Should be a simple fix , I think your need the Nissan Consult or Uprev Cipher to log a few out/inputs. Mark
-
Airflow meter(s) I would say. Where you based? Mark
-
They dont classify NOS as F/I in drag racing , the call it a Power Adder , I let it go as N/A as I know you cant drive Wasso...........LOL
-
So why would you think your F/I Wasso.........
-
I thought I would put up a little prize to the fastest 350/370Z down the drag strip at Santa Pod on the 19th June. There will be a prize for N/A cars and F/I cars Prize's will be an oil and filter kit for your car ( we only use Motul oil and HKS filters) I will require you to scan your time slip write you name and reg number on the scan and email it to me at mark@abbeymotorsport.co.uk. come over to see us @ Santa Pod as we are there running JB Project Z car that weekend.
-
We can supply the whole lot , but you dont need the headers waste of time in my opinon for the extra return. Might even be able to do a package deal including the Uprev tune. Send me a PM. thanks Mark

that was the car before when it had the split second ignition controller and the Vortech fuel pressure bump using a extra fuel pump.

Questions about UpRev for Abbey
Mark@Abbey m/s replied to Mark@Abbey m/s's topic in Abbey Motorsport
Hi, yes we now have the dyno up and running again. I have managed to only get 2 cars finished in the last 2 weeks and it seems one of those is playing up, Sorry Sam. So I am trying to re arrange all the appointments I have had to cancel in the last 2 weeksm I will be on the phone to everyone that I have cancelled on this forum with a date we can fit you in ASAP. We will be trying to fit you in around the bookings we already have for the next 2 or so weeks. Mark -
It isnt dont know why Nissan map these cars like this, I think for warranty reasons. After a remap we run a lot leaner AFR at the top end.

Questions about UpRev for Abbey
Mark@Abbey m/s replied to Mark@Abbey m/s's topic in Abbey Motorsport
D I would need to ask re this as they are playing with the throttle map with the snow switch. Can you PM me your reg numbe ror chassis number so I can make sure w ehave the correct RAM for your ca rthen I can go digging to find out the answer. cheers. -
All the 350Z Alloy plenum car's do this , the crankcase breather system is feed back into the plenum to allow the crankcase emission to be burn't off. If the car isnt using water I think it may not have a head gasket gone , what teater did the other garage use to check and say you have head gasklet problem? was it a block tester a device that sniffs the gas in the header tank/radiator? I would make a open breather system up so the crankcase emission gases are not returned to the plenum but into a small clear bottle and see if that cures the problem. But for me to give a 100% answer I will need to see the car at my workshop when you get back to the UK. Mark

I disagree with this, motors doesn't need to be 13 to 1 AFR at low rpm/boost levels. Running a turbo car at 13 to 1 at high rpm isn't a good idea needs to be in the low 12's/high 11@s AFR to last espec if you run high top speeds. Even a N/A 350Z will be in the 11's AFR at high rpm. All car need to get richer going up the rpm. Yes if the car is different cams/compression/S/C_Turbo size it all makes a diffrence to the require AFR. If you play with the axis number on the AFR map I can make it look super smooth if I like. But how many times do you drive a car from 1500rpm to 6500rpm on full throttle? dyno plots are just for reference.
-
If you run these STOCK motor sat 13 to 1 at HIGH speed your get detonation problems. Remember we are boosting a high compression N/A motor. running 13 to 1 at low RPM will cause the car to feel sluggish there is no real load on the motor at low RPM so no need to run around 13 to 1 AFR. I thought you meant erractic number during the run not a difference from the start to the end of the dyno pull. every car is different and most dyno operators map a little different. I have mapped a few S/C 350Z's all with good results
-
do they are you thinking they should look like AFR from a dyno dynamic dyno plot? the dips are only around 0.1/0.2 AFR changes, our dyno auto plot axis's so makes the graph look a lot more un smooth. AFR's are spot on I feel, I have no worries with the map. The thin red line is how the cars was before now that is erractic.
-
Guys remember our dyno records Hub torque then divides that by the overall final drive ratio so giving a flywheel torque. So the torque figure doesnt take into consideration power/torque loss and I dont like dyno's that use a % power loss to estimated Flywheel/Torque. The car drives and goes real well. Mark

Questions about UpRev for Abbey
Mark@Abbey m/s replied to Mark@Abbey m/s's topic in Abbey Motorsport
If your car is a JDM car and it has cruise control yes you can have multi maps. It is only the UK 276bhp car sthat cant have multi maps due to a different Eprom being fitted to these ECU for security reasons. If we tune the car for unladed and you run super unleaded you wont get any more performance but the car will run 100% correct. The ECU cant work out itself if it has 95 or 98 in the tank. Mark -
Questions about UpRev for Abbey
Mark@Abbey m/s replied to Mark@Abbey m/s's topic in Abbey Motorsport
Ian, its all about response, pre UPREV the throttle responds slower in the lower 3 gears after UPREV it responds the same in all 6 gears. I am afraid I was wrong with saying the car had small throttle openings in the lower 3 gears before. 1 to 1 is the relationship between pedal movement and butterfly movement. a stock car doesn't have 1 to 1 pedal to butterfly movement, maybe better for me to ring you and discuss.
