Spotted - Abbey Motorsport Black Micra
Mark@Abbey m/s replied to SteveM's topic in Spotted or Flyered
that was me on my way to work Steve; I live in Reigate. -
Couple of things: Check all the fuses under the cover next to the Battery. Also check all the fuses in the fusebox. I presume the car still runs? If so it can't be anything major.
-
Best base for these car are made by Bride , but these aren't cheap. Ian P has a seat of brides for sale. We have fitted a few race seats to the Z but to make these it they require extensive floor metal work. The trouble is the lack of width for the seat to fit into I think
-
Neil really depends on how you car is mapped and how much and how the gas is fired, I cant comment on another persons intall.
-
Something else to fit and something else to go wrong in my eyes re Meth injection; Just run the Nos with a little richer fuelling and your be okay.
-
No this isnt right , so you cant use the GAS like it is set up for. Just run the car a little richer on the Gas will do the same thing as Meth Injection. Fuel wont run out like the Meth Injection bootle will. Mark
-
I wouldn't cut the feed to the fuel pump. Just run a relay and a switch to cut the main ignition feed from the ignition switch under the steering column. Mark

I retarded the whole map on your car where you was running gas or not and to be honest after thinking that how I would do every car I wouldn't want a customer running a car on the wrong map and possibly causing engine damage. Running the car 2 degree retarded will only lose 2/3 bhp when running with out NOS. When you use the NOS , you are using a volume of gas from the bottle as the volume drops with the NOS bottle so the pressure will drop. The Bottle heater will help this but it cant hea the bottle quick enough to keep the pressure up in the bottle during a run with the Nitrous turned on. The bigger the bottle the less the pressure will drop off thou. So a 5lb bottle will lose more pressure than running a 15lb bottle. Chris , the Zex system looks pretty good , I like the idea that the system adjust's the fuelling for bottle pressure.
-
Running around 75/100bhp retard isnt needed as the Nitrous pressure drops off towards higher rpm so therefore it isnt as agressive at high rpm and the fuelling will get richer also as the nitrous pressure drops off. Even Wizard of Nos list this for V engines; http://www.noswizard.com/index.php/car- ... odies.html It only losts 1 pair of Soleniods. Being a HR motor with stronder rods/pistons we can hit the car a little harder with the nos without the fear of hurting the motor. Mark
-
Chris, you could use Wizard of Nos stuff but I have a look at the system you have asked about and let you know what the best way is to go. But your only need 1 NOS soleniod and 1 Fuel soleniod just split the feeds to either intake after the soleniods. No need for 2 NOS and 2 Fuel soleniods. Even direct system only run 1 soleniod and split the nos and fuel the require amoun's via a manifold. No need for another ECU your car will be perfectly safe running this amount of NOS , Cant remember if you have cruise control if you have we can run a map especially for the NOS to reduce the timing a few degree but to be honest 75 BHP of gas running a little rich will run fine and safely. Install is the expensive bit esecially if you have it stealth like Wasso fitment. That is a awesome fitment. Give me a mail on mark@abbeymotorsport.co.uk and I will work a price out for you to you idea's. Mark

Really where did you get this information from? So you supply a set of spark plugs to us to fit and one of these plugs goes faulty , it is our problem? Maybe if they where fitted wrongly to cause damage to cause the problem but if they where fitted 100% correctly it isnt our peoblem as we didnt supply the spark plug. But if we supplied the part yes we would repace the part free of charge. -

We wont supply and fit S/H engine because the the unknown history from a damaged car. If the customer wants a S/H motor fitted he buys it the onus is on him. You cant warranty S/H motors espec if you havent heard them running. Have your motor rebuilt , then it will be fully warrantied and you know you have had a good job done. -

S/H engine normally means if you fit it and it is no good they say giv eit back and we will swap it over , you still have to pay for the labour. I always worry about a S/H engine from a damaged car, if the car was rolled maybe it was left running why upside down. I always like to listten to a motor before buying it. But that my opinon. Good luck. -

Guys, A compression check and cylinder leakage test will not provide any infomation on the oil control rings. These will only give feedback on the condition on the valves/seats/cylinder head gasket sealing/top piston rings. You can look down the bores with an endescope to inspect the cylinder bores but nothing other than stripping the motor will let you inspect the oil control rings. Lexx this included a cylinder leakage test which I hope included checking the vlave clearances so £200-00 is a reasonable amount in my eyes. If the car has a lower compression I wonder what the cylinder leakage was on that cylinder? It does seem we are seeing a lot of DE (276bhp) that are burning oil as of late. Mark -

Hi, Seems they charged you 1st to plug the Consult in? Then they charged you to maybe do a compression check/ cylinder leakage and just maybe inspection of the cylinder bores with a Endescope? You say the car has been feeling sluggish? has it be more un-economical than normal and using more oil than normal? -
Ian, yes it was the 1st Roadster , took a small amount of thinking to work out best to place the adjuster, I think it worked real well in the end.
-
As I don't actually own the car and it isn't isn't a stock bodied 350z I thought I would ask first. I will stick the engine dyno plots anyway up here for people to view, the motor does start out As a stock DE block and cylinder heads.

Are we allowed to post up graphs with VQ35 motors running methanol?

Hi welcome to the forum; I would just add the figures quoted by the makers of the parts to get a estimated bhp gain. I have never seen any of these part give the figures quoted but they all help if used with the right mix of parts. 1, the main restriction in the exhaust is the cats. So you can remove this a few ways; fit de-cats , you gain top end but your lose low rpm torque Fit HFC,s you lose a little top end agaisnt de-cats but keep the low rpm torque Fit Motordyne ART pipes and a XYZ Y pipe with or without a race cats and have the best of both worlds. The cheaoest is the de-cat way the most expensive is the ART decat and XYZ 2, Dont bother with the throttle controller the UPrev does the same job. 3 , Plenum spacer will help with mid range torque but not top end BHP. 4, Re exhaust stock system works well , if you want to change the Y pipe get a Milltek but again it isnt cheap but I have seen a few cars with the "quiet" K2 I think Japspeed system on witha Japspeed Y pipe these work well as well but the fit quality isnt very good. 5, I feel astock airbox works better than any airfilter system as you dont get heat soak like most under bonnet air filter systems, just add RT Customz Velocity stack kit and a good panel filter. 6, Porting I wouldnt bother these cylinder heads flow big figures as stock , we have seen over 1000bhp on stock cylinder heads on a twin turbo DE motor on a engine dyno in the US. The onluy other mod I have seen a on a DE motor that helps is fit a Cosworth plenum this motor gave 300bhp flywheel on my dyno but without the expensive Cosworth plenum your see 295 flywheel bhp pretty easy. something like Plenum spacer Stock air box with RT biscuilt velocity stack ( 06 air box spec) we will have these in stock soon De-cats or HFC's Y pipe Japspeed exhaust K2 I think ( the quietist one) Uprev remap Will work real well. Ian, you got to the rear adjusters all okay then? You should stick a picture up where we placed the adjusters on your car if possible. Mark
-
Just divide the axle torque by 4.631 to get a flywheel torque figure. Mark
-
Kev you Motrrdyen ART de-cat pipes.
-
I think running a car CAT less we may get close to that figure but running any CATS I feel you wont , remember that is a gain of over 45+ bhp from a stock car , I am sure Nissan didnt do that bad a job on the tune, yes we tune the cars a little leaner we cant do much with the ignition as it close loops the ignition map agaisnt the knock senors/noise. Where did you guy buy your Akrapovic exhaust from? Mark
-
Ian, you got all the equipment so the steering wheel radio control's still work?
