  1. Stock DE only has Knock control up to 4800rpm after that no knock control; The dyno plot you mention Chris running 98 octane map with 95 Octane map the car is detonating over 5000rpm thats why the dyno plot is going haywire.
  2. My cars done over a 1000 miles running on Unleaded without any problems. Been thinking on a price to do the Reflash via a postal service; Would this be good for you Guys? £300-00 inc vat and postage No Dyno time. Mark
  3. They are a lot more expensive and they do break very easily as well. The Motor isnt half as good as the K20A in the EP3 Honda Civic. Mark
  4. You not brought any parts for a S2000 then?
  5. The BHP rated series had been tried before and is still being run, Steve Burke raced in that series last year , easy to bend the rules with a Turbo car , turn boost up during a race then turn boost back down at the end of the race. Very hard to scrutineer with regrds the BHP (Power output) thats why Steve gave up runnign in this series. Stock based car is the best way to go I know and easier to scrutineer.
  6. 1 make series are for basically stock cars normally.
  7. I feel the car's arent to bad stock with bigger bars fitted but if everyone is the same it doesnt matter. If you dont over tyre them i.e run 888's tyres, they will move around which makes them more fun as well and better to watch. Yes your need a race license minimum National B. (ARDS course)
  8. Pitstop will fuel stops makes the cost spiral out of control as you need fuel fillers , people with fire suits/helmets. 3 races in a day isnt do able as the 3 drivers need to do a minimum of 3 laps each to be qualified due to familairity of circuit. Cheapest way is to co-own a car and do alternate meetings Mark
  9. This sounds an awesome idea; I wouldnt run 888 thou as they are to expensive something like the Federal trackday tyre would work great; Run stock dampers and springs , maybe control uprated roll bars (adjustable to llow the cars to be tweaked) Braided brake lines , any disc and pads with cooling ducts ( controlled size) Controlled exhaust maybe Milltek as the stock Nissan system are all rusting away , stock intake system everything for easy of policing the series. Stock ECU map , this can very easily be controlled. maybe all cars have to have a controlled map , then it is easy to flash the ECU with the controlled map at any time ,this will prevent anyone from remapping there car as they could lose that map at anytime. Bolt in cage so nothing to fancy. I would say only the DE model as well to keep costs down. I am sure we will be 1 of the 1st to sign up for this series. Any more questions ask away. Mark
  10. It is hard to say what the problem is without seeing and inspecting the car , but I would say running on Unleaded wouldn't of helped. As Southern Speed said , we can have a good look around in the cylinders with our borescopes and see if there is any viewable damage, but even if it is a tight tappet it is major job , to get the cam's out to do the valve clearances is a motor out job in our eyes ( front covers need to come off and to get these off you need to remove the sump) Mark
  11. yes that is bad, do you run the car on 95 octane fuel?
  12. but even if they was all at 130psi the car shouldn't misfire. We see a few running around 140psi without any trouble. Even give good power on the dyno.
  13. Is the car misfiring or just sounds a little rough? I presume none of the cylinders are below 140psi thou? How much oil is it using? Mark
  14. Well done Sam , just noticed Graham hasn't done to bad either just over 2500 posts in 15 months.
  15. Dave, Give me a ring on Wednesday to discuss. Sure we can do the whole list of jobs including the clutch and the suspension if you want to. thanks
  16. dont feel any different to stock bushes re vibration/hardness , but the cars feels a lot tighter after fitting Super Pro bushes.
  17. We use a tweaked (Spring rates) BC damper set up with our own heavy duty roll bar links with very good results. Dont lower the car to much otherwise your need front/rear camber arms to get the angles back in spec. We fit remote adjusters to the rear dampers to allow easy adjustment to the rear dampers , when run on the softest setting's it is more comfortable than a stock car and with the dampers wound up it makes the car good fun. We also advise to change the front compression arms rear bushes to Super Pro bushes , this makes the car feel a lot better on the brakes. PM or email me for a price;
  18. Get me a ring tomorrow , I can help you out. Mark
  19. your only masking the fact that your clutch is wearing out , if you then refit a new clutch your have to reset the pedal postion again.
  20. The height the clutch bies at is not adjustabe , as the clutch wears out, the pivot point changes so making the dis-engagement pointer higher in the pedal travel; Adjusting the pedal height makes no difference to engagement point; if you adjust it the wrong way you can actually make more problem's that just a high pedal. Mark
  21. Hi , sounds a good project; ITB work well on these motors if you use a aftermarket Engine management system , DTA have worked out how to use the stock flywheel pick up's , so you dont have to add a 36-1 crank trigger. They can also control the cam control. We can allow you to keep the whole stock engine ECU and wiring and fly by wire thou, which will make it a real easy install , there is only a few wires to connect via relays to allow the car to be run on a stock ECU ( we can also turn off the NATS code to help you) to run 300bhp you dont need to do any internal work. But if you stripping the motor , a set of cams and a increase in compression ratio will help. The limiting factor on the DE motor is the con rods and valve train w ehave found. Any questions ask away. Mark
  22. Stu, I can flash the ECU back to stock and then you can sell the license on or we can buy it back; The HR conversion isnt easy we are just doing the said conversion , there are a lot of stuff different that is need to do the conversion and the wiring is a major job we have found out. Give me a ring tomorrow to discuss the Uprev stuff thou. Mark
  23. Thats just the timing chain tensioner a little slow to tension the chain, nothing to worry about. Mark
  24. Ian, I would need to check but I don't seem to remember being told your car was running 95 octane fuel. We always ask customers what fuel they have in the car before we tune. I will have a look tomorrow and give you a ring/email. Mark
  25. Are you sure? they do have closed loop knock control but running on 95 octane will have a big instep in BHP/Torque levels.
