even a stock 370Z needs a Uprev , they are mapped like a turbocharged car far to rich for a N/A car. Stillen long tube filters help the richness by runnng larger pipes so slowing the air flow over the AFM,s Changing the Exhaust helps a little as changing to HFC,s will help , but the Uprev finishes everything off. Stock cars give around 280/290 hub bhp , tuned a car yesterday fitted with HFC,s Y pipe and HKS exhaust finished at 315 hub bhp a gain of around 25+ bhp. and it does another 3 MPG the customer said today.

Oil Coolers - and oil Temps Information
Mark@Abbey m/s replied to Sam Mcgoo's topic in 350Z Technical
presume you have the take off plate type fitted , this uses a wax thermostat to divert all the oil until the oil warms the wax thermostat up and moves the gate out of the way to allow the oil to flow via the oil cooler The other thermostat still uses a wax thermostatic valve but the unit goes in the pipework to the oil cooler , it uses the added resistance of thick oil through a cooler to make the oil divert around the cooler by when the thermostatic valve is cold (closed) the oil will take the easiest route which is not through the cooler it doesn't shut of the flow to the cooler. once the oil thermostat is warm it shuts and the oil has to flow via the cooler. -
but doing the calculation it is still doing around 26 MPG , I did explain this SS last week.

What sort of thermo plate you running Sam? 2 types both work a different way. -
I will tune AEM, but when AEM is fitted to a GTR the ignition control isn't very good , more hit and miss than controlled like other ECU's. I imagine it will be a lot better on a Zed with a crank and phase sensor set up.

We have a Facebook group we use to keep everyone up to date on our race meetings and workshop updates, this weekend we are at Santa Pod with JB Project Zed 1 , weather not looking after use and we have been chasing a misfire all weekend. https://www.facebook.com/groups/2726951 ... =group_r2j

strange, if you can do without your car for 3 days send me the ECU I will throw it in our JDM car (after uploading a Uprev license) and see what happens; the initial problem sounds like a air flow meter problem thou. Mark

you cant just fit any ECU , as the car runs NATS (Imobilizser) the ECU's need configuring correctly to allow the car to start; You will be able to cross fit ECU's if the NATS was turned off but a 278bhp will not work in a 313bhp but it will run a 300bhp but not control the exhaust cams. What's the problem non Start?

Hi, welcome to the forum. Zeds yep loads of them @ my workshop. On the go at the moment twin turbo conversion on a 350Zed HR model , built motor and HKS Supercharger going in a DE 350Zed. 370Zed being S/C'ed in the next few weeks as well. We on the Surrey/Kent border very close to Junction 6 of the M25 , we have courtesy cars and a nice area to hang out while we work on your pride and joy. Coffee and toast is good as well I hear.

Project Zee Business - Update 25th July
Mark@Abbey m/s replied to Keyser's topic in Member Build Projects
We built an VQ with Crower 4.0ltr stroker kit and cams for a customer that supplied these items, vehicle run on the dyno all okay 1st competition outing a inlet cam broke , luckily didn't take the whole motor out. On closer inspection of the cam the casting the cam was made from a bad casting. Who makes the pistons for Crower? I know the cranks and rods are Chinese made, but a lot of stuff is now made in China so you cant say everything is going to be badly made. -

Oil Coolers - and oil Temps Information
Mark@Abbey m/s replied to Sam Mcgoo's topic in 350Z Technical
+1 Indeed, it starts breaking down at 125C and once its started to oxidise it will break down at lower and lower temperatures. Pete If the car has good quality oil it will be safe for short periods of high oil temp but I do agree get it changed ASAP; Darren your def see higher temps once tweak the car. -

Mark@Abbey m/s replied to Sam Mcgoo's topic in 350Z Technical
Sam, 19 row -10 cooler will suffice for your needs , you can fit a Thermostatic take off plate to allow the temp to be controlled when the car isn't been driven hard. Remove the Zeds water/oil cooler plate and everything will fit real easily. As per our chat he other day I can supply all the require equipment , even the proper pipes made up with proper fittings , I don't and wont use push on pipe with jubilee clips, we only proper Motorsport fittings and hose. -
Really , We charge £120-00 inc VAT to carry out 4 wheel alignment.

Stock Brembo brake kit required
Mark@Abbey m/s replied to Mark@Abbey m/s's topic in Abbey Motorsport
I think the kit has done only 3000miles. I have 2 Zeds my JDM car that we want to sell soon in a stockish condition has the big 355mm Stoptech kit fitted so I will swap this over onto our UK car , the Brembo kit will then go on the JDM car. I am think your Brembo calipers ( rotors don matter as I will fit a new set) + £800-00. Stoptech kit new is £1800-00 inc vat. Mark -
Looking to swap my Stoptech 4 Pot caliper kit for a Stock Brembo front brake kit + cash 332mm grooved floating rotors. Red 4 pot calipers ( small amont of paint flaked off) Aeroquip style brake lines fast road Pads. any questions ask away. Will get some pictures posted up once I get my Zed back from the paint shop. Project Zee Business - Update 25th July
Mark@Abbey m/s replied to Keyser's topic in Member Build Projects
Keyser, thats a pain in the bum as to speak; if it had shot blast left in the plenum , the motor will be worn out , seen a RB like this , but you need to do some major investigation , borescope and cylinder leakage test will show you what's wrong I feel. If you need any help just give me a ring. Mark -
Uprev Osiris TUNER and STANDARD
Mark@Abbey m/s replied to Mark@Abbey m/s's topic in Abbey Motorsport
It will never be as good as live tuning I am afraid as I cant tune the ignition or cams like I do when I tune on our in house dyno, but it will be a definite improvement over a stock car. When you do the dyno pull you need to datalog as well. -
Uprev Osiris TUNER and STANDARD
Mark@Abbey m/s replied to Mark@Abbey m/s's topic in Abbey Motorsport
Yes you can data log without throwing a Bonnet Lifter CEL. It is only when we re-flash it causes a problem as we take the ECU off of the Can Bus and when we on/off the ECU the Osiris throws a fit as it doesn't know about the Bonnet lifter ECU ( US cars don;t have the bonnet lifters) Cipher Cable is £160-00 inc vat only enables you to datalog or turn off CELS.
