I never advise anyone to fit header unless the have the motor out for other work , the gain I feel isnt worth the money it costs to fit a set of headers to a Zed motor. SS had headers fitted as we had the motor out to rebuild .They are a easy fit when the motor is out; Mark

Darren been rather quiet on here , wonder what he has been up to.......more mods I bet!!!!!!

dyno plots are further up the thread. Pleased your Happy Darren.

I have a customer that wants to upgrade his HKS Supercharger kit very soon , so this low mileage kit will be for sale very soon; Would that be any good for you? , works really well on a stock Motored 350Zed with the supporting mods to handle the increased boost pressure;

Just had a Uprev delivery; just a quick reminder for you guys; As you know we have been tuning the Zeds both 350 and 370 Zeds with the Uprev software for over 2 years. We like to tune the car on our in house Dynapack dyno with good results. But there are people that would like to be able to tune there car there selves or that live to far away from Abbey to make the trip worth while, so we can supply Uprev equipment to allow; 1, For someone to be able to tune there own car with the Uprev software if they are happy to tune there own car. 2, Owners can log the ECU and then down load logs via a computer running Windows send me the logs I will then tweak the map and return the map to you for you to upload into your ECU ( the early JDM cars cant cant log the AFR so on these cars I will need a dyno pull with AFR on to enable me to remote tune these cars) I afraid I cant remote tune a F/I car and the 370Z will illuminate the bonnet lifter light , we are working on sorting this as we speak. Prices are as follow; Osiris Tuner £535-00 inc vat (comes with 1 car license) Osiris Standard £375-00 inc vat (comes with 1 car license) ( 3 tunes included, normally take 3 get get the map sorted , any other remote tuning after fitting other items will incur a charge of £72-00 per map. Cipher Cable is £160-00 inc vat only enables you to datalog or turn off CELS. any questions ask away

steering wire I recon

The Haltech isn't quite piggyback but the stock ECU still controls a lot of stuff. When your tuning cars everyday you want to be able to be in total control.
-
Wasso, so what US tuner said to run a Haltech over a retuning the stock ECU? I would like to know that's all? Mark, I didn't mention their name to keep them innominate. They weren't the only tuner to recommend over UpRev. Don't get me wrong UpRev is good, but not quite as versatile as the Haltech Plat Pro. I know a lot of US tuners and I deal with the biggest supplier of Zed Superchargers in the US and he will say Uprev all the way. Just good to hear what other people say , got 3 S/C Zeds in this week all will be tuned with Uprev with very good results, very good cold start driveability , full diagnostic as per Nissan spec,s multi maps on later cars with mapped throttle control; I ask a few friends re Haltech usage in the US. Tuning a Zed to run good BHP on unleaded always ends up with tears , I have been rejigging a Zed ECU to have knock control all through the map seems to work very well so far , will keep you guys up to speed. Keyser see above^^^^^^^

Wasso, so what US tuner said to run a Haltech over a retuning the stock ECU? I would like to know that's all? Looks like we wont be far from a proper standalone ECU being up and running on a Zed soon no piggy backing just a full stand alone running Cam buds to make the dash work like a stock car, will keep you up to speed once we get a car on the dyno. Still not had time to carry out a run as per Dan @ AEM runs his Dynapack thou but I will do I am sure; Keyser looks like there was no knock control on that or any Haltech piggyback ECU's. JUST READ THAT HALTECH WEBSITE SAY THEY HAVE KNOCK DETECTION but it doesn't say it has Knock control thou , will need to have a look through the software tomorrow when I get back in my dyno room. Also below dyno pull was like all the 350Zed dyno pulls I do , all 75 rev,s per 0.15 second from 2000 to 6900 RPM smooth consistent pull.

Uprev N/A reflashes and live mapping
Mark@Abbey m/s replied to Mark@Abbey m/s's topic in Abbey Motorsport
That's how it was described to me. When I had my uprev, Mark described it as if the first three gears acted like a traditional throttle cable made out of elastic bands in gears 1-3, so when you put your foot down to 100% there's a delay before the butterfly gets to 100%. If you lucky enough to have a car that can have multi maps , I usually give you 5 different throttle maps , going from a slow response to a aggressive response, so you can have a nice car to drive in town and a car that is very aggressive when your on the track or tearing up the back roads -
Daz stock fuel pressure is 3 bar or 45psi. The map you have isn't Sam's , I have done a load of S/C installs, it is a generic Abbey map I load to people self fitting S/C kits that's why it has a lower Rev limit added. Changing any flow on the air intake will change the fuelling maps I feel. top marks for paying attention @ School Sam.

Moderators , can we split the thread with regards the tuning a N/A car and Keysers original thread. -
Project Zee Business - Update 25th July

TaffyJason, also running cams you need more compression to make them work on a N/A car. pull the motor , rods/pistons to raise the compression ratio, cylinder head cleaned up/cams uprated springs/caps on the valves, 7500+ RPM with a good tune your see around 320+ bhp at the hubs on our dyno. (hugely off topic, sorry Keyser ) Could go with Nismo type 2 cylinder heads rather than porting the existing ones. They flow better, and bump the compression on stock pistons to 11:1, add some high comp pistons as well, and then sort the breathing out to cope with high revs and you'd have a hell of an N/A motor. @Mark, do you really think 320 at the hubs would be that easy? I just mention it because Alex at Z1 spent a hell of a lot of time and money just getting over the 300 mark. DB Uploaded dyno plot from N/A car we built 307bhp @ the hub though a race cat still; I feel removing the race cat will gain around 10 bhp. Rods/pistons/Cosworth heads/HKS cams/ Cosworth Plenum stock injectors thou getting very close to Max % of fuel duty.Still got stock dual mass flywheel fitted as well, All tuned with Stock ECU using Uprev -

Cylinder hear removal is a motor out job I my eyes far easier than doing it with the motor in the car. And I feel unless you doing a full rebuild porting the heads in N/A trims is a waste of time. -
cheers Jez, that rules that theory out.

stock size wheels? or aftermarket?
-
Afraid I am booked up in the dyno till the week beginning the 8th May. When can you get to us after this time. Sorry.
-
Saturday's..........booked up for a long time......I am afraid; Can you not do a weekday?
-
yep he doesn't want a remap even if it is Free of charge......LOL
-
even a stock 370Z needs a Uprev , they are mapped like a turbocharged car far to rich for a N/A car. Stillen long tube filters help the richness by runnng larger pipes so slowing the air flow over the AFM,s Changing the Exhaust helps a little as changing to HFC,s will help , but the Uprev finishes everything off. Stock cars give around 280/290 hub bhp , tuned a car yesterday fitted with HFC,s Y pipe and HKS exhaust finished at 315 hub bhp a gain of around 25+ bhp. and it does another 3 MPG the customer said today.

Oil Coolers - and oil Temps Information
Mark@Abbey m/s replied to Sam Mcgoo's topic in 350Z Technical
presume you have the take off plate type fitted , this uses a wax thermostat to divert all the oil until the oil warms the wax thermostat up and moves the gate out of the way to allow the oil to flow via the oil cooler The other thermostat still uses a wax thermostatic valve but the unit goes in the pipework to the oil cooler , it uses the added resistance of thick oil through a cooler to make the oil divert around the cooler by when the thermostatic valve is cold (closed) the oil will take the easiest route which is not through the cooler it doesn't shut of the flow to the cooler. once the oil thermostat is warm it shuts and the oil has to flow via the cooler. -
but doing the calculation it is still doing around 26 MPG , I did explain this SS last week.

What sort of thermo plate you running Sam? 2 types both work a different way.
