Becasue the red in the original pic you gave me was so bright, it's very hard to get a dark deep pruple out of it, there isn't enough light information in the red bits. That's why some of it looks odd. This picture was better imo This isn't quite the red I was aiming for but meh, you get the idea. This is what i think would look better.

You can't no, it's just mild steel, cheap crap stuff that doesn't shine. Best thing to do is get some matte heat resistant paint and spray it Then polish the tips with different grades of paper etc. Old thread dug up:

Anyway. I doubt you could mod it to alter the behaviour either. The control of the lights is straight of the the circuit board and the lights are surface mounted LED's.

I used to do the same from time to time. It's going around places with street lighting that used to catch me out, then i got onto a dark road and yikes.
